The well-Balanced Yamamoto-san Gets Caught up in a Death Game

chapter 22.5

Chapter 22.5

[Finally] Thread to Discuss the Death Game part67 [Area 3]

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

It’s been about a month and a half already, huh?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Feels short yet long, but actually short?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

So, gentlemen.

Have you been to Area 3 yet?

Apparently, Area 3 is the Elven Forest for the human side, and the Sky City for the monster side.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

No way in hell, you trash.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

I haven’t even been to Area 2 yet…

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

The progression team is working hard to explore up to Area 3 with ingenuity, and you lot…

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

By the way, why did it change from saying “nth City” before to “Area n” now?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

It changed because it didn’t match the in-game city numbers.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

In-game, the capital/royal city of that continent is called the First City, and then they’re numbered in order of establishment.

So the monster side starts from the Third City even for their first city.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

The first city being called the Third City… what in the… Ugogo…

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

That’s why we’re calling it Area n instead of nth City now.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Got it, trash!

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

That last part lol

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

This guy just coming in at the end to get the good part lol

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

That’s too cruel lol

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Speaking of which, wasn’t there talk about being able to class change in Area 3? What happened with that?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Apparently, you can do it.

Actually, for the human side, you can choose classes other than the basic four of warrior, thief, mage, and healer.

For the monster side, you can become a higher-tier monster?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

I want to know what those selectable classes are.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Useless of the useless.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Apparently, the available classes increase or decrease based on your fighting style and actions so far.

So I can’t really say anything definitive.

Sorry.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

So your future changes depending on your actions?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Even the frontline guys haven’t class changed yet, probably waiting to see if stronger classes appear.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

But Axel must be a Berserker, right?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Axel is definitely that.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Then Kurohime must be a Saint.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Huh? Add “-sama” to her name, you flat-faced bastard!

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

There it is lol

A Kurohime believer lol

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

But really, a lot of people were able to go to Area 2 thanks to Kurohime.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

It’s a blessing even if it’s just for errand quests.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

I’m jealous.

The monster side doesn’t have many top players like that.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

But recently, hasn’t the princess become kinder?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Ah. The princess, huh.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

I wonder what changed in her mindset?

Before, she seemed like she didn’t want to interact with people.

Now she’s helping people as if to atone for something.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

She said it’s because leveling up and fighting in groups is more efficient.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Having just one evasion tank really stabilizes combat.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Who’s this princess?

I’m a monster player, so I’m not familiar with the human side.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Sara, the Vampire Princess.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Sara, the Twin Sword Princess of the Gale.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Sara used to have a loner vibe.

Now she’s an attention seeker Sara.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

She started changing two or three days ago, right?

Did something happen?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Maybe something happened that changed her life perspective.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

To change even her life perspective…

This game is scary…

[Celebration] Thread to Discuss the Heroes part38 [Reached Area 3!]

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

This is a thread to discuss the heroes who are tough enough to keep progressing despite the death game.

They’re very admirable, so let’s refrain from personal attacks.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Hero Introduction ①

[Berserker] Axel’s Group

A four-person party with the warrior Axel as the leader, along with a thief, a mage, and a sister.

They’re doing well as usual, centered around Axel’s crazy progression methods.

Currently active in Area 3.

It’ll be interesting to see if Axel class changes to Berserker.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Hero Introduction ②

[Black Princess] Group

A party centered around aika, who has the unique healing skill [Saint].

They team up with two or three pick-up players in addition to their fixed four, so they’re strong allies for those aiming for the next area.

Currently sighted in Areas 1, 2, and 3.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Hero Introduction ③

SUCCEED

A group of professional gamers.

Led by their ace Mitarai, they have a track record of clearing numerous VR games. Their skills are certain.

The main contender for clearing the game.

Once they start moving, they’re fast as expected.

They seem to have progressed to Area 2 now.

They’ve even started creating subordinate organizations, so they might have an advantage as areas progress?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Monster Hero Introduction ①

Sara

A vampire dual-sword user.

Extremely fast agility specialist.

Nearly invincible at night.

Currently going back and forth between Areas 1 and 2, seemingly farming experience and helping pick-up players reach Area 2.

Quite a good person?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Monster Hero Introduction ②

Tuna cans are delicious.

A solo Ogre player.

A good-natured guy if it weren’t for friendly fire.

Currently active in Area 2.

Seems to like Area 2 and shows no signs of going to Area 3.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Monster Hero Introduction ③

(*´ω`*)

A rare dragon species player.

Seems to have high stats and a unique self-regeneration skill, making them an excellent tank.

Despite not having a fixed party, they were the first on the monster side to reach Area 3.

Currently active mainly in Area 3.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Mystery Hero Introduction ①

Yamamoto

The unidentified EOD killer.

Currently, no one else has fought an EOD, so even the existence of EODs is uncertain.

It’s not even known if they’re on the human or monster side.

But since they were announced in a World Announcement, they’re expected to be no ordinary player.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Thanks for the summary.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Thanks again.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

So the advanced players have already reached Area 3.

We’ve got a long way to go.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

SUCCEED seems the most stable, doesn’t it?

It’s like they’re seeing something different from the rest of us…

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

They have know-how from other VRMMOs.

Their approach to progression is probably two or three steps ahead.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

What about Yamamoto?

Haven’t they found the EOD killer?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Almost no information.

Even what’s there is mostly false.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

There are so many people talking about Yamamoto, it’s hilarious ┐(´д`)┌

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Yamamoto hasn’t shown up on the front lines, right?

That says it all.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

A libertarian, huh. Yamamoto…

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

We don’t even know what EODs are.

No one besides Yamamoto has encountered one yet.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Even if they encountered one, they might have escaped or

Even if they encountered one, they might have escaped or been defeated.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

“If Yamamoto could beat it, so can I”?

How much are you overestimating yourself?

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

I think EODs might be like mid-bosses for each area.

Well, even for a mid-boss, trying to solo it is crazy!

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Sorry to cut in!

Reading this thread made me want to try harder, so I just fought outside the city!

Turns out I could fight surprisingly well!

What I’m trying to say is, I wanted to thank you all for giving me courage.

Sorry if it’s off-topic.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Congrats.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

It’s good to find the courage to live.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Giving people courage and bringing hope…

That’s truly heroic…

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Let’s start by doing what we can, little by little.

And don’t give up on surviving.

You never know when things might turn around.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

Well said.

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

We’re always looking for potential heroes who can bring us hope!

Wanted: Strong heroes!

[Anonymous Death Game Player]

I’d like someone who can progress through the game, not just be strong.

[Private] Oracle Room [key is the usual]

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

I was just thinking, is the Sword Master Gaga event okay?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

What’s with that out of the blue?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Gaga’s a great character, isn’t he?

He showed talent that was called genius even in the royal capital, but because of his obsession with magic swords, he threw everything away and started living like a hermit. Then, after persistent efforts, he created a magic sword and reached his dream of becoming an S-rank blacksmith…

This success story is irresistible!

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

What about Gaga?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

You know how the Crystal Dragon was defeated recently?

A lot of crystal steel should have dropped then, and I was thinking it might be bad if that was given to Gaga.

Who was in charge of flag management again?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Here we go. The downside of spaghetti code (lol)

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Everyone codes with their own quirks.

Honestly, I don’t even want to look at programs outside my responsibility…

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

In a normal company, this would be frowned upon.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

To implement this level of freedom, we can’t afford to check and program everything individually.

It’s the result of each person adding or removing things at their discretion.

Thanks to that, I don’t think anyone grasps all the contents.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

If anyone does, it’d be Mother.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

It was a bold decision, wasn’t it?

Creating a super high-performance AI, having it adjust game balance, and oversee everything.

If it were humans, they’d probably die from overwork.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Actually, several people have been hospitalized due to overwork.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

That’s not even funny.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

I was curious, so I looked into the Gaga event.

To conclude, there’s no problem.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Is that so?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Even if someone has crystal steel, it’s difficult to get to know Gaga in the first place.

Gaga is a difficult craftsman character, so you need an introduction from a third-party NPC to become acquainted with him. That NPC turns out to be the Guild Master and Vice Guild Master of the Commerce Guild.

However, these two are experts in compounding and alchemy, and to raise their favor, you need to complete compounding and alchemy requests.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

That’s brutal lol

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

To get to know a blacksmith, you need to take compounding and alchemy?

That’ll use up all the SP.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

That’s how much they’re wary of the magic sword creation skill.

Or rather, the divine artifact creation skill beyond that.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

But wasn’t there talk about the EOD killer being a production class?

Considering that, I still can’t feel at ease.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

If you get close to Gaga, you’ll quickly understand his obsession with magic swords.

But unless you read the flavor text carefully, you wouldn’t think of crystal steel being necessary for magic swords.

It’s also difficult to have Gaga forge a sword using crystal steel.

Gaga is a craftsman-type character, you know.

Not only is it hard to raise his favor, but he also tends to resort to violence quickly.

It’d be unbearable stress for today’s people who complain about power harassment and such.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

You’re even setting up mental trials?

Isn’t that too malicious?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Isn’t the Gaga event going too far…?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Well, only if you meet all these conditions can you have him forge a sword, but if you were Gaga’s apprentice, you can obtain the secret skills of magic sword creation and magic steel refining, separate from the magic sword.

Well, to acquire them, the player’s total stats need to exceed Gaga’s total stats, so I think it’s quite difficult.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

You don’t intend to let anyone get it, do you?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

It was originally conceived as one of the end-game contents.

I wanted to say that there’s no way to get it this early in the game.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Well, even if by some miracle magic sword creation is acquired, there are events for magic armor creation and magic item creation with similar difficulty, so it’s almost impossible to reach divine artifact creation.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Is divine artifact creation such a dangerous skill?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Can you understand how dangerous it is if I say it allows free item creation?

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

That’s too dangerous!

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Well, the point is that such an overpowered skill won’t be easily unlocked, so don’t worry.

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Phew, that’s a relief…

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

But there’s still the matter of the EOD killer.

Everyone, be prepared for unexpected situations and enjoy the game to the fullest!

[Death Game Hidden Boss]

Aye aye, sir!

[Addendum]

Gaga Event Management’s Brutal Correct Route

①Acquire [Compounding], [Alchemy], and [Smithing] at Lv3 or above but Lv5 or below.

②Raise the Guild Master or Vice Guild Master’s favor to get introduced to Gaga.

③Become Gaga’s apprentice through the apprenticeship system.

④Raise Gaga’s favor.

⑤Defeat Crystal Slimes and save crystal steel (5 or more).

⑥Provide crystal steel to Gaga (5 or more).

⑦Wait for Gaga to finish forging the magic sword.

⑧Acquire secret skills depending on Gaga’s favor.

*Requires total stats exceeding Gaga’s.

This was the management’s brutal correct route.
