Boarmen of the Andromeda Galaxy were known for their pure strength and brutality. Against such a foe, their only option would be to fight.
“So, I die here? After all this, I really just die here?” Cael thought.
He ran many situations in his mind, and he struggled to think of a way to possibly overcome this fighter. He could see the bloodthirst in his eyes, and he knew an attempt as escaping would not be an option for them.
Just as he continued to think, he could see that the boarman began to approach them. Time almost dilated for him, and he could see his friends helplessly looking in his direction. They had helped them in defeating that other team of superstars, so they were hoping that he could do the same now.
I mean, against such a foe, hope was the only thing they could rely on.
The WM-01 Valiant charged forward with its sword in hand, while shooting repeated energy blast fire at the alien. They had umph to their collisions with his body, while also burning through his thin suit.
However, through the armour, his skin seemed to look totally unaffected.
“Damn it, he’s got engineered durability.” Cael realised.
While humans went down the path of advancing technology, the boarmen had taken a different path during their scientific improvements. They soon noticed that their bodies and genetic make up could be easily modified without harming the subject.
With this in mind, they turned their bodies into pure powerhouses, with skin as tough as metal and with muscles as strong as synthetic actuators.
Cael rushed forwrad to fight alongside his support bot, screaming to flood his mind with rage. He tried his best to overcome the fear that he felt, and it worked. He no longer felt fear holding him back, but instead anger pushing him forward.
He activated his Power Surge skill for the third time, and landed a straight punch on the boarman’s chest with his powered gauntlet.
His heavily amplified strike managed to knock it back a few inches, then his bot slashed at his abdomen with its heated sword. However, the sword only managed to leave a graze on the boarman’s skin, while the punch had caused little to no damage.
“Humans and you robots. You may have these quirks, but you cannot match to a truly robust, powerful body!” The boarman roared, kicking the bot right off its feet.
It was launched several metres, and it twitched as it tried to raise back up. Significant damage had clearly been caused and Cael almost backed away in reflex.
“AAARGH!! DIE!” Adriano shouted, suddenly being fuelled by rage.
He threw a combination of punches and kicks with all of his force, and tried to break down this gargantuan boarman. However, the beast out deep, maniacal cackles upon blocking or evading each one of his attacks.
With his forearms up and tightly held to protect his body, Adriano threw a rapid combination of punches onto them in rage. His mind almost couldn’t take defeat, and he just continued in the hope of achieving some sort of noteworthy damage.
However, nothing like that had happened. He finally stopped once fatigue started to kick in, and he looked up in horror to meet the beast’s dark red eyes.
BAM!
A single knee to his chest was enough to crack his armour, along with one of his ribs.
He stumbled and coughed out blood upon taking such a powerful attack. It was like nothing that he had felt before, and he couldn’t raise back up to his feet again.
“Damn it!” Cael thought to himself, upon seeing this happen.
As he turned back to face the beast, Emily arrived by his side. She had her blade unsheathed and aimed right at the beast.
“You monsters are the reason my father is dead! You BASTARDS!!” She cried, running forward with a shout.
She swung wildly and desperately, trying to slash the beast. Her blade whistled as it cut through the air, but this boarman was simply too fast. It also had skilled footwork, and was able to just step inches away to evade all of her swings.
WIth a single punch to her helmet, it shattered, revealing her face and head. The boarman then grabbed her by the neck, lifting her up so that their eyes were level.
Just this light grab around her neck caused significant damage, and she spit out a mixture of saliva and blood onto the alien’s furry face.
As this happened, he grumbled while wiping his face with his free hand.
“You dirty, weak scoundrels!” He shouted, but Emily gave nothing but a smile back to him.
In reaction, Emily revealed her bloodied teeth in the form of a sinister smile.
She simply dropped her hands, and started to choke from how tightly her neck was being squeezed. Her face started to look extremely red, but Cael’s bot assailed the alien with a barrage of energy blasts.
The first blast had been charged up and so, this boarman was actually forced to the side slightly. This gave Emily just the right chance to escape by cutting at his wrist. It was one of the less durable parts of the body and her heated blade managed to cut through its skin.
Black blood dripped out slowly from the created wound, and the beast grunted from the pain.
With herself free, she coughed out blood, while holding her neck and retreating. As she did so, Cael’s bot rushed right past her and leaped into the air, with its blade aimed downward. Using its superior speed and agility, it managed to actually battle this alien without just getting immediately pummelled.
Its attacks weren’t doing damage, but it was managing to evade the attacks coming from their opponent from time to time. This gave the remaining two fighters just enough time to think of a strategy.
“How do we murder this thing!” Emily asked, with eyes bloodshot with rage.
Her hands trembled as she held her sword, and it was clear that adrenaline had totally changed her attitude.
Cael’s mind was quite clouded from the emotions that he was feeling, and they really didn’t have many options to consider either.
“His armour is very weak so we can get under to his body easily. Once we get to the skin and pierce that, we can then deal some damage. I can get my bot to continuously hit one part of its body then once you get the chance, stab that area of its body.” Cael suggested.
“Good idea! I’ll be waiting.” She replied.
“Go for his chest! Go for one spot on his chest!” Cael exclaimed to his support bot.
Upon hearing this, the bot didn’t immediately respond to what he had to say, but then started to get the message. Its periodic energy blasts and strikes were being placed on a spot on its chest above where the human heart would be.
That spot soon started to bleed the boarman’s signature black blood.
Cael fell to a knee, and he was starting to feel the strain of his mana stream. His bot was much more reckless with its mana usage, because it was taking advantage of a much larger mana store, which was his own body.
However, that meant he was losing energy at a much higher rate.
He was now panting, but knew that he couldn’t let up. His support bot was the only reason they weren’t getting pummelled right now. If not for this mana stream, his bot would have to use its energy blasts far too sparingly, and be quickly overpowered.
Seconds later, he coughed out some of his own blood, holding his chest in pain. Both his exosuit and his support bot were drawing from his mana, and his body was struggling to hold on.
“What’s going on Cael, fall back and rest you’re clearly hurt!” Emily insisted, looking at him with his weary facial expression.
“No, just wait. Wait...” He weakly replied, before coughing even more blood.
His medical bot rushed to his aid, but the damage done to his body was too great. There was no way to replenish his mana, and that could only be done by returning his body to normal and simply waiting.
The boarman lifted its large hand and started blocking the incoming beam of energy blasts from the valiant bot. It didn’t stop its onslaught of energy blasts, and these attacks were slowly and steadily ripping through the beast’s fortified skin.
Its sturdy body only received shallow cuts and burns from these attacks, but they were most certainly a nuisance to deal with.
The alien then received a vicious slash right to its stomach, making it grit its teeth in pain. The bot had aimed for another part of his body that it had already slashed before.
This made the wound even deeper, and an even larger volume of blood was drawn in the process.
In rage, it then grabbed the bot and lifted it off the ground, tanking the energy blasts that were being shot onto its body.
During this battle, Cael was starting to look pale on his skin, and his vision was becoming blurry. The mana stores in his body steadily depleted, and one’s mana being drained was a life-threatening occurrence.
“DIE!” The alien then shouted, slamming the bot into a tree.
The force behind this slam was too much for the bot’s body to handle, and it was totally crushed as a result of the impact.
It dropped its heated sword, that then began to return to a usual temperature. It caused the mud beneath it to sizzle and harden, while the only part of the bot left intact was its head.
The head of the bot was removed from its body and slowly rolled toward the crew, with its glowing golden eyes fizzling out into nothing but a hollow grey colour.
“No!” Cael roared upon seeing this, before grasping his chest in pain.
The boarman then smiled menacingly, while walking forwards. Its advance struck fear into all three of the warriors that watched it approach them.
They actively tried to retreat as he walked forward, but there was little that they could do,
It was inevitable that they would reach them.
“You three have really annoyed me! I will give you the bloodiest deaths imaginable!” He roared, before shooting down his burly arms to try and hit Adriano, the closest warrior to him.
SLAM!
From behind him, a person knocked right into his side and forced him off balance, giving Adriano just the right amount of time to evade and save himself.
BAM!
The boarman’s fist cracked open the ground as it hit it, and Vanessa was stood there with her own powered gauntlet, facing the boarman.
“Come on then, I’ve seen about you people on the news! I knew you all were too greedy to follow our peace agreement!” Vanessa declared, almost excited when seeing this beast.
“You have just signed your death, human!” The boarman grumbled, turning to face her.
