Chapter 13: Chapter 13: The Death of the Rhino!!
The Rhino was utterly shocked. He had clearly aimed at Peter, so why was the guy completely unharmed?!
"I don't believe I can't hit you!!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Missiles fired toward Peter once again.
But it was still useless. In the face of extreme speed, both missiles and bullets became painfully slow.
Peter dodged them effortlessly.
The Rhino was now completely panicked!
How was this even possible?!
This guy wasn't afraid of missiles!
With his eyes unable to keep up with Peter's speed, the Rhino mistakenly thought Peter was immune to missiles.
This was terrifying!
The Rhino's heart pounded wildly. He might be simple-minded, but he wasn't fearless.
Now, he was ready to retreat.
He shouted at Peter:
"Hey, you're really something. Even missiles can't kill you. But I've got thick armor. You can't touch me either!"
Peter chuckled.
"Oh? Want to make a bet?"
"I bet you'll come out of that armor on your own."
"If you win, I'll let you go and give you a silver dollar."
"If you lose, you die today."
The Rhino's brain filled with question marks.
What's a silver dollar?
Was this guy insane? Why would he leave the armor? Staying inside was the best way to ensure his safety.
But the moment this thought crossed his mind, his fingers seemed to move on their own, pressing the button to open the armor!
"What the hell!!!"
"My body's not listening to me!!"
The Rhino's eyes widened. It wasn't that his body was out of control—it was just that, for some reason, he inexplicably wanted to leave the armor and make a bet with this mysterious man!
[Forced Interruption: When you propose a bet using a silver dollar, the opponent will immediately stop what they're doing and engage in the bet with you.]
Peter's expression remained cold as he slowly walked toward the now armor-less Rhino.
"I told you, if you lose, you die!"
Just then, the NYPD finally arrived, albeit late.
Seven or eight police cars surrounded the two.
George, leading the team, drew his gun and aimed at them.
"Freeze! Hands up!!"
Peter continued walking toward the Rhino, completely unfazed by the police.
Before coming here, to ensure he could deal with the Rhino decisively, Peter had exchanged two types of potions from the points store.
One was a Stamina Enhancement Potion.
The other was a Strength Enhancement Potion.
Both potions lasted only three hours, but fortunately, they only cost 100 points each.
George quickly shouted:
"Hey, stop!"
"Hands up! Dangerous individuals are the NYPD's responsibility. Don't interfere."
"The court will judge him!!"
To Peter, George's words were a joke.
Whether in Marvel or DC, he had never seen a villain truly punished by the police.
Even if it happened, it was rare.
If evil wasn't eradicated, it would only harm the innocent.
If admitting guilt worked, there would be no need for villainous superheroes!
Peter suddenly grabbed the Rhino's wrist!
With a swift shoulder throw, he slammed the Rhino to the ground!
Perhaps overwhelmed by the scene, one of the officers nervously pulled the trigger.
The other officers, spurred by the gunshot, opened fire on the two!
But Peter had already vanished from the spot.
He gripped the Rhino's arm and dragged his body!
At an incredible speed, Peter sprinted, completely disregarding the Rhino's body being ground to a bloody pulp. Even his bones were worn down to almost nothing!
Alarms blared across all countries at the same latitude.
They all detected an unidentified object rapidly entering their airspace, only to disappear just as quickly!
George cursed at the officer who had fired.
"Idiot! Who told you to shoot?!!"
By now, the mysterious man and the Rhino had almost completely vanished!
This meant the police had come for nothing. Meanwhile, the media had caught wind of the incident. Reporters had already recorded the scene and taken photos.
But the next second, a gust of wind roared through.
Peter, still in disguise, reappeared.
Beside him was the mangled corpse of the Rhino.
Apart from the arm Peter had held onto, the rest of the Rhino's body had been ground away. Even his internal organs were mostly gone.
If his body hadn't been enhanced, and he had been an ordinary person, being dragged around the Earth by Peter would have left nothing but dust.
Everyone who saw the Rhino's corpse—whether police or reporters—stared wide-eyed, too shocked to speak.
They held their breath, too afraid to make a sound.
This was terrifying, utterly terrifying!!
This man was a monster!
Even George, who had risen from a beat cop to police commissioner, was shaken to the core.
How could he have known that the mysterious man who would grace the front page of the New York Times tomorrow as the "most terrifying hero" was actually a student at Midtown Tech High? A good neighbor, and the ideal son-in-law he had picked for his daughter.
Peter stretched slightly, feeling a bit fatigued.
After all, he was still just a human. Even with the enhancements from the two potions and the Rabbit Talisman, circling the Earth in one go was still taxing.
He needed to keep earning points.
Peter removed his Tommy Shelby-style flat cap and smoothed his hair.
He addressed the NYPD:
"No need to thank me."
In the next second, Peter vanished.
