Chapter 6:
Chapter 6: Everyone Was Deceived by Him!:
Once again, everyone gathered in the arena. Hua Qiandi and Wei Zhong stood facing each other.
“Senior brother, please.” Wei Zhong said. Although his words sounded polite, his face showed arrogance. He clearly didn’t take Hua Qiandi seriously.
And why would he?
The gap between their abilities was huge.
Hua Qiandi had only just started cultivating, a mere beginner in the martial arts world. Meanwhile, Wei Zhong was already the Heaven and Human Realm expert.
In the Heavenly Demonic Sect, this was nothing extraordinary, but in the outside world, it was the mark of a master.
In the cultivation world, strength was everything. This was especially true among demon disciples, where power was the only thing that commanded respect. If it weren’t for Hua Qiandi’s seniority, Wei Zhong wouldn’t have bothered with even the smallest courtesy.
“Thank you for agreeing to fight. But be careful, senior brother. I’ve only just started cultivating, and I may not fully control my strength. I wouldn’t want to hurt you accidentally.” Hua Qiandi said.
“Of course not! If I get injured or lose, it’ll be because of my own shortcomings, not because of anything you’ve done.” Wei Zhong replied, though he clearly didn’t believe Hua Qiandi could touch him, let alone hurt him.
“Thank you for your understanding!” Hua Qiandi added, raising a sword. “Be careful—there are no eyes under the sword!”
In an instant, Hua Qiandi was right in front of Wei Zhong, his sword slashing with incredible speed.
Wei Zhong’s eyes widened. So fast! he thought, stunned.
Indeed, it was fast.
Though they both were in the same realm, Hua Qiandi had recently upgraded to a superior combat physique. This enhanced not only his cultivation but also his ability to control and maximize his body’s potential in battle. His mind was in sync with every movement of his body, controlling every cell and energy flow, which multiplied his speed and strength many times over.
Although they appeared to be equals, their true combat abilities were miles apart.
Wei Zhong was caught off guard.
Before he could even raise his sword to defend himself, Hua Qiandi had already sliced through the tendons in his arm.
All Wei Zhong could do now was rely on luck to survive, but Hua Qiandi’s strikes were precise and deadly. His sword also emitted sword energy, and in just a moment, the fight was over.
Hua Qiandi didn’t kill him, but he might as well have.
Hua Qiandi took three steps back, while Wei Zhong collapsed like a felled tree.
The crowd gasped in horror at the sight.
Wei Zhong’s joints were severed, his organs pierced, and his face was disfigured beyond recognition. His entire body was crippled. Yet somehow, he clung to life.
In one swift strike, Wei Zhong was utterly defeated, his martial abilities destroyed.
But what truly shocked the crowd wasn’t Wei Zhong’s condition—it was Hua Qiandi’s strength.
This man… he wasn’t just an acquired martial artist!
Everyone had been fooled.
“You’re no beginner. You’re already reached the Heaven and Human Realm!” Xue Wuhen said gravely.
“Junior Brother Hua, you’re much stronger than we thought!” Zhan Wei added with a thumbs-up.
“You sly little trickster.” Leng Yaoyue said with a sly smile.
Hua Qiandi shook his head, sighing dramatically. “When you’re part of the world, you can’t avoid danger. I’ve learned to be careful and hide my true strength. Unfortunately, some people don’t take others seriously, and I had no choice.”
His words insulted everyone present, making them bristle with anger, especially Xue Wuhen, who felt like a fool for underestimating him.
Suddenly, Hua Qiandi called out, “Senior Brother Xue, Junior Brother can still be saved! Hurry, take him back for treatment!”
It was true that Wei Zhong’s life could be spared—but only if Xue Wuhen was willing to pay a great price.
If Xue Wuhen chose not to save him, it would raise doubts about his leadership.
Could someone who abandoned his own brother truly be worthy of becoming the Holy Son?
The situation was delicate.
Xue Wuhen wasn’t the only one competing for that title.
At this moment, Wei Zhong, lying in agony, called out weakly, “Senior brother… please save me…”
Xue Wuhen’s jaw clenched, and after a long pause, he finally said, “Take him back and do everything you can to treat him!”
“Yes, Senior Brother Xue!” someone answered. They quickly gave Wei Zhong an elixir to stabilize his condition, then carried him off for treatment.
“Junior Brother Wei, I hope to see you back on your feet in a month!” Hua Qiandi called after them, making sure everyone heard.
It was a warning.
If Wei Zhong wasn’t back in full health by then, it would be proof that Xue Wuhen had failed to keep his promise.
Xue Wuhen replied coldly, “Don’t worry. He’ll be back.”
“I’m relieved to hear that.” Hua Qiandi said with a smile.
For now, the matter was put to rest.
Just then, Zhan Wei stepped forward with a laugh. “So, Junior Brother Hua, you’re already in the Heaven and Human realm? I’m impressed! How about a little duel between us?”
After thinking it over, Zhan Wei added, “Don’t worry, I’ll only fight at the same level of cultivation as you.”
The crowd was taken aback. It seemed Zhan Wei wanted to test Hua Qiandi for himself.
Hua Qiandi smiled. “Since Senior Brother Zhan is offering to teach me, how could I refuse?”
“That’s the spirit of a true man!” Zhan Wei said.
And so, the duel continued.
This was the first time two Holy Son candidates were going head-to-head. Who would emerge victorious?
All eyes were fixed on the arena.
Even the elders and the sect head watched from the shadows, their spiritual thoughts silently communicating as they observed the battle.
