The Villainesses in the Romance Fantasy Novel Became Obsessed with me

Chapter 12 - The Slow-Learning Turtle (2)

The genius tutor.

In reality, I was not a genius by any means. I was just an ordinary human who received a modern education.

I didn’t have the flashy thinking of a genius; I only possessed basic reasoning skills to utilize given information.

However.

How have I maintained the title of genius up to 12?

The answer to that question was ‘effort.’

To ensure I didn’t fall behind other kids in terms of knowledge, I studied alone, reading books while others slept.

Because it was unacceptable for a so-called genius to have lower knowledge and martial arts skills than peers.

To reach a level where I could teach others, I studied hard, reviewed, and mastered the content independently.

Someone else might ask me another question.

‘Why bother putting in so much effort when all you have to do is just transform villainesses?’

As mentioned before, the answer to that question lay in ‘persuasiveness’.

Generally, words spoken by a genius are more persuasive than those of an average person.

People trusted my ‘genius’ title infinitely, and they didn’t question my actions even if they go beyond the norm.

‘Since they are a genius, there must be a reason. There’s surely some meaning behind their actions.’

Even if it was an action which deviated from common sense.

People are lenient when it comes to geniuses.

Originally, geniuses are beings that defy common sense.

No matter how incomprehensible the action may seem, they overlook it.

But the villainess in front of me refused just to let it slide.

She was a creature of pure pride.

“This doesn’t make any sense!! Why is someone my age my teacher?!”

Thunk! Thunk!

Bluebell’s loud outburst echoed in the classroom.

I stood firm at the front of the blackboard and shouted, “Quiet, Bluebell.”

“Why should someone my age be my teacher?! I refuse to accept it! Why should I listen to your lessons?! I don’t want to! Go away! I won’t do it!”

Thud! Thud!

Bluebell slammed her desk like a child, throwing a tantrum.

She refused to acknowledge me as her teacher.

But I wasn’t about to back down.

“Even if you shout that you won’t do it, it’s not going to work. Go back to your seat. Marquis Irten has given permission.”

“Why does my dad have to approve of my teacher?! My teacher should be my choice!”

“Yes, you can decide for yourself when you become an adult. But not now.”

“Aargh!!”

Bluebell screamed hysterically.

She was forcibly brought here by her father, Lord Irten, but judging by her displeased expression, she was unwilling to attend my class due to wounded pride.

‘According to Lord Irten… She’s had a total of 15 teachers replaced so far.’

Bluebell, age 12.

She was a villainess with significant personality issues.

“What could I possibly learn from someone my own age…”

She was full of pride.

“What genius… You’re probably dumber than me anyway…”

And stubborn, too.

“If you’re going to leave anyway, why don’t you just go now? Don’t waste our provisions.”

Even her mouth was foul.

‘It’s only a small part of it though.’

Why doesn’t Bluebell’s personality resemble that of her parents, who are known for their character?

Although I wanted to say many things to Irten about that, but…

“Bluebell.”

“Who said you could call me by my name? When you address me, it should be Marquis Pieridot-”

“Focus. Starting today, I am your teacher. Let’s begin the lesson.”

Lessons including personality and behavior correction.

First and foremost, it was about turning Bluebell into a human.

—-

Bluebell sat at her desk and blankly stared ahead.

She watched Damian, who was diligently conducting the class, and thought to herself,

‘That idiot will quit soon enough anyway.’

The same.

That guy would quit soon, anyway.

She had no intention to study, and she didn’t intend to listen to the teacher either.

‘Why bother studying. It’s boring.’

Shopping was more fun.

All jewels sparkled differently, and their colors were different, even if they were the same type.

It was even more fun to eat delicious food.

There were so many different desserts, each with its unique taste.

And teasing the servants was more fun.

‘What method should I use to tease the servants today?’

Just thinking about it made her laugh.

They always stood there quietly like fools, waiting to be punished.

There were so many more fun things in the world than studying.

‘Why should I study when I have plenty of money and the power of my family?’

‘It’s not like I would die if I didn’t know certain things, right?’

‘Now even sitting quietly is boring.’

‘I should kick him out like other teachers.’

‘If that doesn’t work, I’ll just tell Dad.’

‘Dad always listens to me no matter what. He’ll kick him out for me.’

‘For now, should I go out of the classroom like usual?’

Bluebell raised her hand sharply and glared at Damian.

——

Flash-

Bluebell raised her hand and said.

“Teacher, I’m bored with the lesson. I want to go back.”

Hmph-

Bluebell hummed and got up from her seat.

Where does she think she’s going during class?

I caught Bluebell’s thin shoulders as she tried to leave.

“Sit down.”

“Eek!”

Thud!

Under my hand pressing her shoulder, Bluebell sat back in her chair.

Looking at her face, she appeared momentarily surprised by what had happened.

Perhaps it was the first time a teacher laid hands on her body.

The subdued Bluebell yelled in frustration, “Who dares to touch the body of Lady Bluebell without permission?!”

“The eldest son of Marquis Sinclair, Damian, laid hands on you.”

“That’s not what I’m asking!”

“Then what are you asking? If there’s no issue, I’ll continue with the lesson.”

“You lunatic!”

To a crazy girl, one must become a lunatic.

The stronger she comes out, the stronger I must be.

To maintain authority, I must never show weakness to her.

Ignoring Bluebell’s words, I resumed the lesson.

“According to the history of the Fritz Empire, four families joined forces 400 years ago, won a war, and crowned Fritz Herg as king-”

“Boring! I’m not listening! Why should I listen to this nonsense?”

“You have to listen.”

“Why?”

“Nobles prefer not to keep someone without basic knowledge close. How do you plan to enter the academy?”

“Well, you just bribe them, right?”

Bluebell sneered at my words.

She seemed to see the world upside down.

“I distance myself from those who distance themselves from me. Who says I’m being distanced? Besides, even without that kind of knowledge, I have plenty of money and the status of a marquis. I can survive without learning, understand?”

I wasn’t sure about that.

I ignored her words and turned my head.

“Well, you’re free to be delusional. Shall we continue with the explanation?”

“…”

I opened the book again and continued the lesson.

Bluebell just stared at me blankly.

Perhaps my reaction caught her off guard and left her speechless.

But what I said was the truth.

Bluebell was deluded that her current wealth and honor would last forever.

If she didn’t study and correct her fundamental behavior, she would probably repeat the novel’s contents.

I never had any intention of leaving her alone like that.

‘Still, the attitude of the student is the most important thing.’

My student didn’t intend to listen to the lesson properly.

Bluebell continued to be absent-minded during the lesson, so I approached her after closing the book.

Bluebell smiled as if her expectations had been met and said, “Huh, calling yourself a genius. You’re just like any other teacher! You give up on the lesson so quickly!”

“No, I approached to continue the lesson. I wanted to ask a question.”

“What is it? But more importantly, don’t come closer, it’s uncomfortable.”

I stared into Bluebell’s eyes, more profound than my blue eyes, as her face turned red.

I asked, “Why does Young Lady Bluebell dislike studying?”

“Of course-”

“Because studying is boring, right?”

“If you know, why ask?”

“Then why is studying boring?”

“… I don’t know.”

No, she knew.

As far as I know, she knew perfectly well.

But she probably didn’t want to say anything.

To others, it might seem like ‘it could happen,’ but to Bluebell, it was no different from admitting her flaws.

“If you don’t know, there’s nothing you can do.”

Stepping back one pace, I clenched my fist and lightly aimed at her head.

And then…

Thwack!

I smacked her head lightly with my fist.

Upon that, Bluebell started screaming in pain.

“Aaargh! Ah, it hurts!”

“But even if it’s not fun, you have to do it. Focus.”

“You’re crazy! Ugh, Dad! H-he hit me!”

Whether it was her first time being hit by someone in her life or not, Bluebell began shedding tears like an ocean.

Was it because her voice got louder?

Onlookers who were watching from outside also opened the door and came in.

“Wha- What’s going on, Young Damian! You’re hitting my daughter!! While it may be said that the content of the lesson can be excessive, this is too much!!”

“Ugh… Dad… He hit me…”

Seizing the opportunity, Bluebell poured out more tears.

“Dad… Punish him… Ugh, punish him…”

But contrary to her words, his gaze was solely fixed on me.

Fuming even more at his daughter’s tearful plea, Irten shouted at me.

“How dare you hit my daughter! What an outrage, Young Master Damian!”

“Young Lady Bluebell wasn’t focusing in class.”

“Does that justify hitting someone?”

It does.

Bluebell had to face consequences.

Irten pampered her too much.

You can tell just by looking at her now.

“Nyah-nyah.”

When she hid behind Irten and stuck her tongue out playfully, you could see how comfortably she had grown up without getting scolded too much.

‘I wonder what she will do if the Marquis disappears.’

Even if it was just to prepare for what might happen later, I had to instill concepts and manners into Bluebell’s head.

And for that to happen…

“I’m sorry, but punishment for Young Lady Bluebell is necessary.”

“Young Master D-Damian! What did you just say!? Can you take responsibility for those words!?”

“Normally, hitting someone is wrong. But punishment is necessary for Young Lady Bluebell. I’m not saying she should be hit every time. Honestly, Lord Irten, you pampered your daughter too much. And hasn’t Young Lady Bluebell hit servants too?”

“Th-that’s…”

To transform a crazy girl, you must become a bit crazy yourself.

Even if it goes against common sense. I would do it.

I calmly looked at Bluebell.

She seemed visibly flustered at not getting her way.

With a smile disguised as composure, I said, “There’s a saying that the whip is medicine. If you recall Bluebell’s past actions, you can find the answer yourself.”

“…”

“Dad!”

“… Continue the lesson.”

Irten bit his lip and pulled Bluebell, hiding behind him, in front of me.

With Bluebell looking betrayed, I said dryly, “Let’s continue the lesson then.”

Today, Bluebell needed a harsh lesson.
