Aoki regained consciousness in a few seconds. "I'm fine... I think," Aoki said without stuttering as he usually did.
Suddenly, the atmosphere became silent. Aoki just realized his big mistake—this time he spoke without the usual doubt or panic. Aoki's face paled, and Kurisu looked at him with a scrutinizing gaze.
Aoki felt increasingly trapped in the lie he had created.
"Who are you really?" Kurisu asked in a cold voice, her gaze sharp, as if she could see through his soul. The faint smile on Aoki's face seemed to try to hide the doubts he harbored.
Suddenly, shadows around Aoki began to move. In an instant, several figures dressed in black cloaks with hoods covering their faces appeared. They moved swiftly, surrounding Aoki in silence, their silhouettes graceful yet threatening. These women were security guards working at the Brothel, known for their deadly skills.
Aoki stood calmly, seemingly unaffected by the threats surrounding him. "Hmm... it seems I have made a fatal mistake," Aoki said casually, his voice sounding calculated. "Who I am is not important. What matters more is that I do not intend to harm or cause a disturbance here. My purpose in coming here is to take Ito Samiko away. However, I do not want a fight to occur."
With a swift motion, Aoki drew a katana that had somehow appeared from behind his sleeve, the sword glimmering faintly in the darkness. "I come with a clear intention. No fighting, no damage. I just want to settle my business with Ito Samiko without causing further harm."
As Aoki looked around with sharp eyes, as if observing every corner carefully. "I do not want this place to be damaged because of a fight between me and Ito Samiko. If that happens, you, the women who work here, could lose your jobs. I'm sure you wouldn't want that to happen, would you?" Aoki concluded his words with a gaze full of determination.
Kurisu paused for a moment, analyzing Aoki's words carefully, then her cold voice broke the silence again. "I see. So you are a bounty hunter, huh?"
Aoki nodded casually, his gaze still unwavering. "That's right. Ah, about me mentioning my mother by the name Senju—that was just a joke. I don't know why it just slipped out," Aoki replied while glancing at Kurisu, trying to ease the tension that still lingered in the air.
