Chapter 2: Wish and Choice
Jain remained silent, carefully observing the three spheres floating before him. Each one radiated its own unique energy, as if trying to persuade him that it was the right choice. He crossed his arms, lost in thought, carefully weighing the pros and cons of each world presented by The Beginning.
After a few minutes of contemplation, Jain took a deep breath, solidifying his decision. He looked up and, with a resolute tone, declared:
"I choose the world of Bleach."
His answer caused the corresponding sphere's light to pulse more intensely, as if responding to his choice. The Beginning, in turn, leaned slightly forward, appearing genuinely intrigued.
"Hmm... Why Bleach?" it asked, its voice carrying genuine curiosity.
Jain gave a faint smile before explaining. "Besides being considerably less dangerous than Dragon Ball due to the smaller number of deities, it also offers a greater variety of powers and abilities than One Piece. That makes Bleach the perfect choice. Even with deities like the Soul King, Mimihagi, or Pernida, they don't act alone or, most of the time, simply don't act at all."
Jain's reasoning sounded logical and strategic, something that didn't go unnoticed by The Beginning. He began to laugh, a light chuckle that seemed to echo through the surrounding void.
"Hahaha! Interesting. It seems you've thought a lot about the role of deities," The Beginning remarked, clearly amused by the points Jain presented.
"Have you seen Dragon Ball?" Jain quickly retorted, gesturing with a slightly exasperated expression. "Seriously, in that series, mortals turning into gods is practically routine! First, it was Goku and Vegeta with Super Saiyan God. Then came Toppo becoming a God of Destruction. After that, Jiren appeared—he's not a god, but he clearly transcends their power. And let's not forget Moro, who absorbed Merus and became practically an angel. Right after that, Granolah used the Dragon Balls to become the strongest in the universe, followed by Gas, who did the same. And, as if that wasn't enough, Frieza himself came back stronger than ever with his 'Black Frieza' transformation. It's insane!"
Jain sighed, almost exasperated as he listed each example. The Beginning couldn't suppress another laugh, finding the commentary on Dragon Ball both accurate and comical.
"I see your point," The Beginning replied, still chuckling. "Indeed, the Dragon Ball universe has a... unique tendency to escalate power levels to nearly absurd extremes. But what about One Piece? Haven't you considered the challenges there?"
"I considered it," Jain replied promptly, crossing his arms again. "But One Piece, while interesting, doesn't offer the same diversity in abilities as Bleach. In One Piece, most powers revolve around the Akuma no Mi, Haki, and some variations within those categories. It's amazing, but quite limited in comparison. Bleach, on the other hand, has the Zanpakutou, Bankais, Quincy powers, Hollow abilities, and even unique variations like Kurotsuchi Mayuri's scientific skills or Aizen's immeasurable capabilities. It's a world where the creativity of powers can truly shine."
The Beginning nodded slowly, impressed by Jain's analysis. He finally responded in a serious yet satisfied tone:
"You've made a well-thought-out choice, Jain. The world of Bleach certainly has the potential for great stories, and with you there, perhaps we can create something never seen before." The Beginning spoke with excitement as the sphere of Bleach expanded, growing immense until the void itself could no longer be seen.
"Now, the wish," said The Beginning, his voice softly echoing through the void, as though summoning something greater than either of them could comprehend.
Jain tilted his head slightly, observing the landscape around him. It was as if the void itself was beginning to change. He blinked a few times, processing what he saw. The white expanse that once dominated the space was now gradually darkening, black spots emerging like ink dripping onto a pristine canvas. He remained silent for a moment, taking in the scene before him.
"Is this the birth of the universe?" Jain thought, feeling a certain indifference toward the spectacle. "Not very impressive."
As the darkness continued to spread, Jain decided to speak, his curiosity taking over. "They say that, at the beginning of the Bleach universe, there was only a singular existence, made of one primordial, chaotic, undivided world. A place overrun by Hollows, who attacked the inhabitants like predators hunting easy prey."
He looked toward The Beginning, expecting some kind of confirmation or perhaps a refutation of his interpretation of the chosen universe's mythology.
"Yes," replied The Beginning, its voice adopting a tone of satisfaction, as if it was pleased with Jain's analysis. "The story before the events you know as Bleach is vast, an endless cycle of chaos and order. That singular world you mentioned was the first step, a primordial chaos where Hollows and souls coexisted in constant battle. But all of this... the entire unfolding of that story..."
The surroundings began to accelerate. Jain saw shapes starting to emerge from the darkness—tiny points of light transforming into constellations, massive explosions that he could only assume were the birth of stars and galaxies. Everything moved at a frenetic pace, as if time itself was being compressed into a single moment.
"…it happened in seconds," continued The Beginning. "Millions of years of history, from the birth of the Soul King to the separation of the World of the Living and Hueco Mundo, will pass in mere seconds for you."
If The Beginning had a face, Jain could swear an enigmatic smile would be etched on its lips. He felt something almost tangible in the being's presence—a boundless power, yes, but also a curious delight, like an author who had just conceived a brilliant plot.
"This means I'm destined to be part of this story, right?" Jain asked, unable to hide the mix of fascination and nervousness growing within him.
"Exactly," The Beginning replied. "You will be more than an observer. You will be a force of change in this universe. But first…" The Beginning's voice grew even more solemn, almost ceremonial. "…your wish. The pillar that will define your existence in this world."
"The Nano Machine from the Webtoon Nano Machine, with all its functions already unlocked." Jain pronounced clearly, a gleam of satisfaction dancing in his eyes as he stared at The Beginning. The immediate response was astonishing: the primordial being froze completely. It was as if it had locked up, the light surrounding it flickering momentarily.
Jain took advantage of the pause to conclude: "And let Cheon Ma's Heavenly Demon Sword, from Nano Machine, be my Zanpakutou!"
The Beginning remained silent, but its light seemed to pulsate irregularly, as if trying to process the request. Finally, a strange, reverberating laugh escaped its form. "You ingenious human..." it said, its voice echoing with a mix of disbelief and admiration. "You planned this from the start, didn't you? When did such a brilliant idea come to mind?"
Jain smiled, a grin brimming with confidence and satisfaction. "Well, I had plenty of time to think. And let's be honest, it wouldn't be logical to waste an opportunity like this, right?"
The Beginning continued laughing, but then its voice turned serious again. "There is a problem, however. I can only grant you the Nano Machine. The Heavenly Demon Sword would be a second wish, and you are only entitled to one."
Jain raised an eyebrow, his expression brimming with self-assurance. He knew exactly what he was doing. "It wouldn't be a second wish," he began, with the calmness of someone who already had all the answers. "After all, the sword is a complement to the first wish. It's part of it. If I wish for the Nano-Machine to be mine and configure it to incorporate the Celestial Demon Sword as my Zanpakuto, we're still talking about a single wish. You never said there was a limit to how many things could be included in one wish, as long as it's specific."
Jain's words hung in the air, and for a moment it seemed as though The Beginning had frozen again, its light flickering erratically. It remained completely still, as if trying to process the flawless logic that had just been presented.
"It's…" The Beginning finally said, its voice carrying a mixture of resignation and amusement. "You got me on that one."
The light surrounding The Beginning intensified, a spectacle of colors that seemed to echo its mood. "You are clever, Jain. Very clever. I will grant what you asked for. The Nano-Machine will be entirely yours, and as part of it, the Celestial Demon Sword will manifest as your Zanpakutō."
Jain crossed his arms, satisfied, as he watched The Beginning prepare to fulfill the request.
"You know how to make a fair deal," he joked.
"Don't get too used to it," replied The Beginning, its voice now laced with a hint of irony. "But I must admit... I'm curious to see how you'll wield this power in Bleach. If I were human, I'd say I'm almost moved."
"Now, tell me, which era will I appear in?" Jain asked, crossing his arms as a curious expression spread across his face.
The Beginning glowed faintly, as if preparing to deliver an intriguing revelation. "The same era when Aizen Sousuke became a student at the Shin'ō Academy."
Jain raised an eyebrow, intrigued, but before he could respond, The Beginning added another detail that left him completely speechless: "You will be his roommate."
"Excuse me?" Jain exclaimed, his voice loaded with surprise and a hint of skepticism. He stepped forward, as if needing to confirm what he had just heard. "You mean... that Aizen? The guy who orchestrated half the chaos in Bleach? I'm going to share a room with the future greatest manipulator of the Soul Society?"
The Beginning let out a soft, almost teasing laugh. "Exactly. Think of it as an opportunity. He's not yet the Aizen you know. When you meet him, he'll just be a young prodigy, full of ambition but still moldable. You'll have a front-row seat to observe him... or influence him, if you wish."
Jain rubbed his chin, clearly thoughtful. "That's... unexpected, to say the least." He laughed, but there was something more behind the sound—a mix of anxiety and excitement. "Aizen is known for manipulating everyone around him like chess pieces, and you want me to get close to him at the very beginning?"
The Beginning shrugged, or at least the equivalent of a shrug for a luminous sphere. "Exactly. What you do with this chance is your problem. Either way, it'll be interesting to watch. After all, you asked for the Nano-Machine and the Celestial Demon Sword—you'll have the power; now you need to decide how to use it."
Jain sighed, but the gleam in his eyes showed he was far from refusing the challenge. "Then it's settled. I'll stand beside Aizen... and we'll see who influences whom."
The Beginning laughed again, the light around it shining brightly. "Perfect. Then get ready, Jain. Your new life is about to begin, and the stage is already set. I hope you're prepared to deal with Aizen Sousuke, both in his early days and his future."
Jain closed his eyes, a confident smile spreading across his face. "If he's as clever as they say, this will be an interesting coexistence."
In an instant, the void around him began to dissolve, as if the very fabric of reality was rearranging itself to create the world of Bleach. Jain felt the energy around him shift, signaling that the moment of his reincarnation was near.
"Let the games begin," Jain murmured as he vanished into the brilliance of creation.
