The Strongest Brain in the Interstellar

Chapter 33 - Doubt

It seems that Mr. Andy doesn’t know either, Jiang Hui thought thoughtfully.

Since she had previously talked with Mr. Andy, he had stated that he was responsible for all negotiations. However, someone suddenly appeared, and their attitude was clearly different from Andy’s. This indicated that there were some issues involved.

Jiang Hui wasn’t very clear about the internal affairs of their company, nor did she want to interfere.

However, the matter still needed to be clarified with the other party, so she said, “This morning, someone claiming to be an employee of Hailusi sent a message saying that I needed to go to Hailusi Group for negotiations in person. I thought this was different from what you mentioned yesterday, so I didn’t pay it any attention.”

Upon hearing this, Andy’s brows furrowed deeply. With this confirmation, he had almost pieced together what had happened.

This meant that in the morning, the company had not changed its mind and had sent a mediator to connect with Jiang Hui.

It was unclear whether this was due to Jiang Hui’s refusal and blocking them, or for some other reason, but the company’s attitude had suddenly changed. That was why they asked him to come back and negotiate with Jiang Hui.

The changes in this situation were indeed significant, and the abrupt turn of events made Andy feel that there must be something else happening that he didn’t know about.

He secretly pressed down on this matter and didn’t delve deeper into the topic. Instead, he casually mentioned that it was likely that the company’s diplomatic department hadn’t handled the situation well and failed to convey the company’s intentions accurately.

He didn’t mention his fallout with Hailusi Group. After working in the industry for some time, he had some experience in handling such matters and could see that Jiang Hui’s dislike for the company had reached a profound level.

If she were to learn about these changes, she would probably be even less willing to reach an agreement. It was better to avoid complicating things… Apologies, Ms. Jiang.

He still wanted to leave this damn company smoothly.

Jiang Hui didn’t think much of it and naturally understood it as a failure of communication between the various departments of a large company, so she brushed it aside.

However, during this re-negotiation, some things still needed to change.

Jiang Hui decided to raise her compensation demands. She had now realized that her original death was inextricably linked to the products of Hailusi Group, or rather, that they were the root cause.

Yes, she knew that her original self was dead, a realization that just came to her moments ago.

Until this morning, she still had some uncertainty about whether her original self had truly died; she had merely been speculating.

But after taking the mental stabilizer, she finally began to vaguely understand what mental power really was.

If she wasn’t misperceiving or experiencing brain issues, based on the range of mental power she currently sensed and felt throughout her body, there was no other mental power present except for her own.

Nothing. Just emptiness. Only she was there.

At this moment, she faintly confirmed that her original self had likely vanished from the world.

Such a tragedy was something Hailusi Group could never compensate for. Jiang Hui wanted to seek some justice for her original self.

Andy understood this as well. He thought to himself that if Jiang Hui felt that the compensation in interstellar currency was insufficient, there would still be room for negotiation, depending on whether the group was willing this time.

In fact, he even felt a bit of schadenfreude. It served them right; they had initially negotiated with her and then refused. Now that they were coming back to her, they naturally had to pay more. Miss Jiang was absolutely right; she shouldn’t let such a heartless corporation off easily.

Andy recorded Jiang Hui’s new proposal point by point and then casually chatted about some irrelevant topics, which eased the atmosphere between them considerably.

It wasn’t until Andy shyly suggested ending the conversation that they finally wrapped up their discussion.

After shutting down the light brain, Jiang Hui let out a long sigh and leaned back against the sofa. The room was quiet, with a cool breeze flowing through the living room. Despite doing nothing, a deep sense of fatigue surged within her.

After a moment, the girl remembered she needed to check the time.

Oh right, Andy had mentioned something about yesterday’s discussion… Jiang Hui hadn’t paid much attention at the time. Reflecting on it now, didn’t that mean it was still the same day, and she hadn’t actually slept for a whole day and night as she had imagined?

Thinking this way, she opened her light brain again to check the time and her gaze fixed firmly on the time in the bottom right corner, momentarily stunned.

Wait, why was it still this time? It had only been a little over an hour. She had only slept for two hours; that couldn’t be right.

She clearly felt as if almost twenty-four hours had passed in her dream… it should have, right? She recalled her experiences and realized she had indeed been in that space for about twenty hours.

No, she had just been on the call with Andy, which probably took up an hour. After ending the call, she had rested for a while, so she should calculate the time from when she woke up.

Jiang Hui felt that her thoughts were a bit stuck, and her hand dully scrolled through the previous communication records. From the login records of the light brain today, she estimated she could find the most recent time point before taking the mental stabilizer and then the time point when she just woke up to answer Andy’s call.

In between… hmm, only about half an hour? Could it be even more outrageous than that?!

She had only slept for half an hour?

Could the time in the interstellar world really be so arbitrary? It was like this last night, and today it was the same.

Jiang Hui was baffled, feeling as though she had overlooked something, but she just couldn’t recall what it was.

After sitting for a while, she tidied up the living room a bit, putting away the remaining mental stabilizers, and then opened her light brain to continue understanding some information about the world.

While she was in the hospital, her mind was chaotic, and there were too many things and too many people around, making it inconvenient to explore further. Besides, even if she had the desire to do so back then, she was powerless.

Now it was different. She knew she should have already become the original self, which meant that she would likely have to live in this world for a long time. Naturally, she needed to have a comprehensive understanding of the affairs in this world to avoid exposing any flaws that could get her into trouble later on.

Jiang Hui decided to start by understanding the ordinary information sections, but unexpectedly encountered some issues in the process.

Her knowledge of this interstellar world was indeed lacking; even basic common sense needed to be pieced together from the remnants of the original self’s memories. Not to mention the things and people that the original self didn’t quite understand either.

So, upon seeing the dazzling array of information sections on the light brain, she couldn’t help but feel a bit of a headache. After persisting for a while, she ultimately had to give up and think of other methods.

However, there was still a glimmer of hope. While she was struggling with this, she suddenly noticed a comment from a certain interstellar person under some information. They remarked that the adult information section was indeed different from the adolescent one, and that the latter had overly comprehensive information filtering, and so on.

Hmm, so there’s a youth section on the information page?
