The story of the struggle in another world of the divine cat Mii-chan and the cat supplies summoner

Chapter217 - Divine Cat, Mii-chan, Doesn't Like Staying Up All Night.

217 Divine Cat, Mii-chan, Doesn’t Like Staying Up All Night.

Mii-chan, Kai, and I are riding on Sumire, while Perro and Sera are traveling in Yuri-san’s carriage. Lu-kun and Ral-kun are running after us. Last night, I informed Ru-san that Perro and Sera would be going to the royal palace today, so they wouldn’t be available for hunting.

Everyone transferred to the carriage that Pamir-san from the Hunter’s Guild arranged, and we set off once again toward the royal palace. Terra is riding with me on Sumire… Sorry, Mii-chan is also with us.

Sister Sumire ignores the gate soldiers and confidently passes through the palace gates. By the way, we don’t have an appointment, but it should be fine, right?

As usual, after a short wait, Nia-san and the stablemen arrive. I apologized to Nia-san for not making an appointment, and she said:

“Please don’t worry. We’ve been told to let Lord Nero and Lady Mii in anytime they visit.”

VIP treatment indeed.

“Mii~.”

Mii-chan truly is someone important…

“Perro! Everyone!”

Lady Leene comes running and hugs Perro. Why Perro? I mean, Perro is cute, but it’s still a mystery.

“I’m so glad you came. Lately, I’ve been bombarded by annoying visitors, and I was just getting fed up.”

Six cats are curled up into a ball at her feet.

After I gave my initial greetings, Yuri-san and Pamir-san greeted the queen and took their seats. I handed the baked pudding we brought as a gift to Nia-san and then asked the queen about her comment.

“What’s been annoying you?”

“The eastern margrave’s territory became vacant, right? People have been pestering my husband about it.”

Ah, so the nobles’ wives have been trying to curry favor with the queen, hoping to secure the vacant margrave position for their husbands.

“Hey, Nero-kun, you don’t want it, do you?”

“I don’t.”

“Oh, you’re so cold.”

The queen and others enjoyed the baked pudding while Mii-chan and her group nibbled on Mii-chan cookies. Yuri-san and Pamir-san seemed a little stiff today, but the conversation remained cordial.

Once the conversation lulled, I showed the queen the proposal for our event.

“Is this some kind of festival?”

“Yes, you could say that. Think of it as a festival.”

“With the recent rebellion, everyone has been feeling uneasy, so I think it’s a great idea. It’s something we should have organized ourselves. We’ll fully support you.”

With that, I requested permission to use the central plaza and asked for restrictions on non-human traffic.

“Nia, take care of it, please.”

“Understood.”

Looking down, I saw that the cats had dispersed from their ball formation, so I brought Mii-chan, Kai, and Terra over to the queen.

“Mii-chan, greetings.”

“Mii~.”

“Kai and Terra, thank you for coming as well.”

“Mew~.”

Mii-chan, Kai, and Terra greeted the queen with dazzling smiles. She hugged them all and snuggled them affectionately. Meanwhile, I was being licked on the face by Luca, Lea, and Noah. Seeing Yuri-san and Pamir-san looking envious, I handed Lea to Yuri-san and Noah to Pamir-san, letting them cuddle. Since Lea is Kai’s sibling and Noah is Terra’s, both of them looked very pleased.

As I petted Luca, I noticed her soft, fluffy, and well-groomed fur—a sign that she’s been receiving a lot of affection.

Lady Leene was surrounded by Perro, Sera, Lu-kun, and Ral-kun, smiling brightly. I really think she could use more friends, but there’s not much I can do.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch, and as we left the palace, the queen and Lady Leene asked us to visit again. Apparently, the queen had turned down all appointments today, saying that her dear friends were visiting—she really dislikes meeting with the noble wives. Being a queen must be tough.

After returning to the Hunter’s Guild, I thanked Yuri-san and Pamir-san, petted Kai and Terra, and sent Perro and the others home. Then, Mii-chan and I headed to the Commercial Guild.

“The permit was granted?”

“Mii~.”

“Yes, no problems at all.”

“Then we’ll start working on it right away.”

At the Beruna Commercial Guild, they prepared a large sheet of paper, and we drew a layout of the central plaza, going over the details. Looking at the diagram, I realized just how much bigger this plaza is compared to Wilhelm’s. That’s when it hit me: we’ll definitely need security for such a large event, especially with drunkards. This is essential for our plan.

I discussed it with the guild official, and we decided to submit a request to the Hunter’s Guild for security. We’ll also need to submit a request in Wilhelm. Guess I’ll have to head there now.

When I returned home and teleported to Wilhelm, I was immediately cornered by the bloodshot-eyed staff of the Commercial Guild. Um, what?

They dragged me to a meeting room labeled “Summer Festival Operations Team.”

“Where have you been?!”

The staff members inside were glaring at me resentfully. Apparently, my contact person had been running around looking for me since morning. Sorry about that.

“Is something wrong?”

“Wrong? Everything’s wrong!”

“Mii…”

My usually calm contact person looked like an enraged demon. Mii-chan clung to me in shock.

Turns out, there were too many shops wanting to participate, especially non-food vendors hoping to capitalize on the festival. They were overwhelmed with requests and decisions. I suggested they could handle it without me, but they angrily pointed out that it was the Divine Cat Company that secured the grand duke’s approval… and I ended up having to deal with it.

So, I started working through everything one by one, including the matter of requesting security from the Hunter’s Guild.

Will I even be able to get home tonight?

“Mii…”
