The Stand User Of The Daily World

Chapter 4: [4] Invincible

Chapter 4: Invincible

The Stand, which began as the main battle system in the "Jojo" series from Part 3, has the following characteristics:

1. Only Stand users can see their Stands;

2. Any damage inflicted on the Stand will be returned to the user's physical body; the user shares sensory perception with their Stand;

3. Stands can be obtained through natural means or inherited, but can also be awakened or granted by external factors. Such external objects primarily appear as arrows in Parts 3, 4, and 5, while in Parts 7 and 8, they manifest as Saint's Corpse, the Devil's Palm, and the Wall Eyes.

So the question arises: Shunsuke is certain that he hasn't encountered any of these bizarre objects lately, nor has he trained in the Ripple technique. By "Jojo" logic, the only remaining possibility is that a family member has recently awakened a Stand.

His long-deceased mother is naturally off the table, so could it be that his overworked father has awakened a Stand?

That's ridiculous!

[Host, please do not worry. You are currently the only Stand user in this world.]

"So how does the system know that?"

[Because this world is a daily world.]

"Is that so...?"

Shunsuke felt a bit skeptical, but lacking evidence, he had no choice but to accept it as true.

It was almost noon, and Shunsuke didn't want to eat lunch at the hospital. Even though it was a very upscale hospital, Mrs. Izumi was adamant about stopping him.

"No way! Even if you want to be discharged, you must complete all the checks first!"

"There's really no need."

Others might not know, but he certainly did.

After activating his time stop, he didn't have so much as a scratch, and fainting was merely a result of awakening his Stand.

Shunsuke felt that, if anything, his body was unbelievably healthy.

[The current metrics of the host's body can be compared to those of the original Jotaro Kujo.]

How invincible can one be?

"I said no means no! Since you already took the day off from school, just rest today, Shun-kun."

"But I really am fine."

"Sick people always say that."

"You're so annoying, you old hag!"

"Okay~~."

"..."

Shunsuke was completely at a loss for words.

Bored, he could only lie on the hospital bed, researching the prices of Stands.

Initially, Shunsuke thought that 800 points were nothing. However, after browsing around, he discovered that this purchasing power was actually quite reasonable.

The pricing for Stands is divided at 1,000 points.

Ordinary Stands, without those lofty concepts related to "time," "soul," or "destiny," won't cost more than 1,000 points.

Even for high-value Stands like Crazy Diamond, which can repair and modify any item or Stand, or Gold Experience, which boasts incredible growth potential and speed alongside powerful auxiliary abilities, they are both priced at just 1,000 points.

At the same time, the system only provides basic versions of all Stands in the redemption interface. For evolved Stands like Gold Experience - Requiem, not only can you not buy them directly, but you can't even see their prices without purchasing the original version first.

When inquiring about this, the system explained that this is simply the rule.

If you find the original version too expensive, you might consider evolving it yourself.

The system recommended Echoes ACT1, which has an astonishing growth potential and can evolve in the direction you desire.

Looking at the 800-point price tag for Echoes ACT1, Shunsuke thought, "Are you kidding me? Is this dog of a system trying to drain me dry? The premium for growth potential is just too severe!"

In contrast, he glanced at the pitifully cheap Silver Chariot, priced at only 150 points, and momentarily felt tempted.

However, after looking again at the most expensive Stand currently available for direct exchange, The Heaven's Door, which costs 3,000 points, his interest quickly faded.

Even if The Heaven's Door is a Stand that Araki specially crafted for his alternate persona, it certainly wouldn't surpass Requiem. So dreaming of that 800-point price tag was better left aside for now.

In the end, Shunsuke decided to buy Platinum Star at a discounted price, successfully doubling the duration of his time stop.

As expected, the price for Platinum Star: The World Over Heaven Requiem was also 10,000 points.

You two are indeed of the same type of Stand.

.....

After completing all the tests, it was already 3 PM.

Due to the relationship between their families, when his "father" was not home (which was the norm), Shunsuke usually had dinner at the Izumi household.

In previous years, he even set a record by staying at their house for an entire month. Even now, the Izumi family had kept a room for him, and there were his toothbrush and towels in the bathroom.

However, the price he paid for this was that he generally covered the cost of dinner.

Although Mrs. Izumi looked utterly incredulous when she saw Shunsuke's test results, by the time they left the hospital, she seemed to have forgotten all of that and insisted, "Shun-kun, you need to replenish your strength! Tonight, we're eating something delicious—let's have drunken shrimp and king crab!"

Shunsuke, listening nearby, couldn't help but twitch his mouth. Wasn't she supposed to be taking care of the patient?

Drunken shrimp needs to be marinated slowly, and preparing king crab is a time-consuming and labor-intensive task.

Mrs. Izumi was getting more spoiled as the days went by and was practically useless in the kitchen now. At this point, he'd be lucky if he didn't have to rest at all before dinner.

But there was no helping it; after all, who could deny that Mrs. Izumi was an adorable homebody?

She made him feel like he was completely indispensable, so she willingly offered to do anything for him. It was truly terrifying.

"Something feels off, Shun-kun. Are you thinking of something inappropriate?"

"How could that be? I was just thinking that Mrs. Izumi, you're really... adorable."

Shunsuke said with a bright smile.

Mrs. Izumi blushed.

...

"I'm back."

"Onii-chan, welcome home!"

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Izumi Sagiri hurriedly ran over and threw herself onto Shunsuke, eagerly patting him. "How are you, Onii-chan? You're not hurt or anything, right?"

Shunsuke chose to ignore Sagiri's inherited habit of suddenly pouncing on people, as he was already accustomed to it. He comforted her with a head pat, saying, "I'm actually perfectly fine. I just did a full body check-up to be safe, and there's absolutely nothing wrong."

"I'm glad Onii-chan is okay."

Sagiri sighed in relief, kindly taking the bag of food from Shunsuke's hands and heading to the kitchen.

"Sagiri, how about Mom? She worked hard today and was out all day. Aren't you even the slightest bit concerned about her?"

Mrs. Izumi, completely ignored, felt like crying. Weren't daughters supposed to be little princesses? How had her own child become so ungrateful?

"Oh, hi, Mom (with a hint of disdain)."

"Sagiri-chan, Mommy is really about to cry."

"Tch, Mom, you're such a hassle."

"Shun-kun! Sagiri is bullying me! You have to do something!" Mrs. Izumi clung to Shunsuke and refused to let go.

Shunsuke patted her head, saying, "Sagiri is just tsundere. In reality, she..."

"Mom, don't disturb Onii-chan's rest! Let's go make dinner!"

Without waiting for Shunsuke to finish, Sagiri forcefully dragged Mrs. Izumi away, who was now on the verge of tears.

...

In the end, Shunsuke took care of dinner, though he didn't need to do it all by himself now.

After kicking Mrs. Izumi out of the kitchen, Shunsuke summoned Platinum Star.
