Chapter 3 - Commander Mu
Chapter 3 Commander Mu
Later, Lin Qing didn’t make any scene, which somewhat surprised Mu Li.
When Chen Qudong and Liang Ruoyi started toasting to the guests, she had pulled herself together.
Ling Qing was too normal than ever before. She stood up, smiled and raised the glass: “Qudong, Ruoyi, I wish you a long and happy marriage, and have a cute baby very soon.”
Then, she gulped down her liquor, which made her blessing seem very sincere.
“Lin Qing, I didn’t know that.” Chen Qudong laughed, making his chiseled and handsome face more good-looking, “You are so good at drinking.”
Lin Qing kept smiling. She would not tell Chen Qudong that she could only drink three bottles of beer. As for white liquor… this was her first.
“Allow me to toast to the others first.” Chen Qudong said, apologetically.
Lin Qing smiled and nodded, and then sat down. She did not dare to look up again since she was slightly dazed — anyway, she couldn’t embarrass herself in front of Chen Qudong.
“Commander Mu”, Chen Qudong turned around and set his eyes upon Mu Li. He smiled very politely, “Thank you for coming to our wedding.”
Mu Li raised his glass in hand. Despite his slight smile, he looked quite indifferent. He said: “Congratulations!” Then, he gulped down his liquor.
At the same time, many people started discussions because of Chen Qudong’s greeting “Commander Mu”.
The Mus were a noble military family in city B. Mu Li, who was incumbent in an important position at such a young age, was heatedly discussed in city B.
However, Mu Li did not like showing up in public since youth. He went abroad when he was very young, and joined the army as soon as he returned home. Not many people had met him, but his glories had been around. Over time, he became a legend.
However, the legend didn’t like being talked about. In the midst of all the discussions, he turned his head around towards Lin Qing: only this woman quietly lowered her head and didn’t even look at him.
Ah, interesting.
Because there were other guests to toast to, Chen Qudong and his wife did not stay by this table very long and said: “Enjoy wining and dining here.”
Lin Qing looked up, smiled and looked at Chen Qudong and Liang Ruoyi walking away. Then, she dropped her head like a deflated balloon. Anyone could tell her frustration from her expression.
Of course, Chen Qudong noticed it, too. But he did not say anything, and stared at Lin Qing before leaving the table.
Mu Li swirled his glass of wine, took a sip, and had a mysterious smile on his face—this was the most interesting wedding he had ever attended.
At about ten o’clock, the wedding was finally over. Surrounded by family members and friends, the newlyweds left. So did the guests, one after another.
There was only one person—Lin Qing—that didn’t notice their leaving.
Lin Qing remained seated in the same position, head drooped and slightly bent over with her long dark hair hanging down and her white tender hands by the sides of her body…
This position was somewhat strange.
It was stranger that she had maintained the position since Chen Qudong and his wife left the table. No movement at all.
When the waitress came to clean up, she noticed there was only one woman in white dress and hair hanging down left in the ballroom.
“Miss”, the waitress patted Lin Qing on her shoulder, “Miss?”
“…” Lin Qing did not respond, still like a log.
“Miss?” The waitress raised her voice, “Miss, are you okay?”
“No, I’m not.” Lin Qing suddenly answered in a low voice with grievance, “I am drunk…”
The waitress was shocked and patted her own chest to pull herself together: “Oh, Miss, please leave here. We are cleaning up.”
“…” Lin Qing pursed her lips, then remained still again like a log.
The waitress didn’t know what to do—she could not just drag this thin woman out.
Standing outside the door, Mu Li saw everything.
