The Speed Of The Stars

Weeks have passed since the race with Ningguang. Collei arrives at a well known Yougou restaurant at the Lake. She enters and is greeted with the welcoming arms of Beidou, Seele, Pela, Amber And March. 

Amber Rushes to Collei and Hugs her "Collei! Good To see you again!"

Collei hugs back back Amber. She blushes and smiles "Good to see you too sunshine."

March smiles. "They look cute together you know" she mutters softly.

Seele nods and smiles "You're right March. They do indeed look cute together.

The then take their seats and begins the celebration.

While waiting for the food. Pela Brings up something that caught her attention for a while.

Pela opens her phone looking for the photos "Guys, I heard from a friend of mine last night that there's a Mysterious Car Driving both the uphill and downhill of Yougou. He took a photo of the car but it isn't the best shot. Maybe You guys can recognize it?"

Pela pulls up a photo of the Car in her Phone and passes it around. Nobody Knows the Car. But it does have distinct features. A ducktail spoiler, Wheels that look like Steel wheels. Lacking a rear bumper with a coupe body style. Beidou however Recognizes the Paint scheme in the car.

Beidou's eyes widen "I recognize that paint scheme. That is a Martini paint scheme, the Sky blue, the Dark blue, and the red? That's definitely a Martini Livery"

Collei asks "What is Martini Style"

March leans in to Collei's side and Explains "Martini is referring to Martini Racing. A Wine group that Has a racing team, They have raced in multiple divisions of motorsport. Endurance Racing. Rally Racing, and at one point. Even Formula One"

As they continue to talk about the mysterious car. Pela receives two videos from her contact that spotted the car going both uphill and downhill

Her phone pings "Oh I got some videos of the car driving around Let see it"

Pela watches the videos and she's left at an awe. The Cornering speed of this car is insane. both in the uphill and downhill. But the sound is something else. A 4 Cylinder Engine with the distinctive sound of a supercharger Its sound echo's around the recorder's surroundings. Huge flames spit from the exhaust. Pela then show's the videos to everyone else

Beidou's eyes widen "Holy shit. That car's flying!"

March's jaw drops "That car is quick! And it sounds menacingly quick too!

Amber's eyes sparkle a little "She's Fast! And that sound! Its. Its amazing!

Pela closes her phone. "Well. How can we identify the car?"

March snaps her fingers "I know! Maybe Lyney has an idea about the car? He's the history guru after all!"

Pela gives a thumbs up "Sounds like a plan March"

The gang puts their hands together and thanks for the meal they receive before diving into the food and eat their Breakfast.

The following day at the gas station. Beidou Gathers everyone and proceeds to ask Lyney about the car. Pela hands him her phone with the photo and video in the screen. Lyney looks at both the photo and video, and is speechless, Eyes wide open.

March tilts her head slightly "Lyney? are you okay?"

Lyney puts his hand on his head. "I haven't heard about him or this car in years..."

Pela raises an eyebrow " You know the driver and the car?"

Lyney Nods. "Yeah. I know the car. and i used to know the driver. I forgotten his name. But i do know him

Lyney crosses his arms "The guy was a former rally driver in the 1980's Racing for Lancia Martini Racing. They drove Lancia 037 Rally Cars on that Era. Those times they were running the Group B Spec cars"

March then raises her hand "Group B? You mean those ridiculously Overpowered Rally machines? like the Audi Quattro?"

Lyney nods. "Yep, In 1983 Lancia Challenged the Goliath, that is Audi with their Quattro. A Battle of Rear wheel drive Versus all wheel drive. The Audi's were good on tight stages. While the Lancia was good on Fast Paced stages and even the toughest of the tough stages. In the end of the year, Lancia won the Championship. And the Guy became the first Inazuman rally driver to win a world rally championship. He continued to rally until he retired in the 90's, He then turned into Closed Circuit Stage racing. That's where me and Arlecchino met him. And when he retired from professional racing. He went mountain pass racing with us with that same Lancia.

Collei rubs her chin a little " If my father was the fastest in the downhill."

Beidou continues "Then this guy was the fastest on the uphill."

Lyney snaps his fingers and points at both of them "Correct! Last i heard of the guy was he was continuing to train His daughter to drive just like him to continue his Legacy. Since then I haven't heard from him since."

Seele Leans against her Devil Z. "So Lyney, What is that car in the photos and videos?"

Lyney looks at the photo again and gives the phone to pela. "That car... is the Championship winning Lancia 037 from 83'"

Everyone is in awe, A rally car racing in the mountain passes of Yougou.

March scratches her head. Hair messing up "But i thought racing cars, especially rally cars are illegal on the streets?"

Lyney smirks a little. "Not really march. They do have license plates cause after each stage. they drive on the public roads to the next stage or to the service area for repairs, tuning or cleaning up the car in preparation for the next stage.."

Pela pinches her chin a little "But what are the specifications of this Lancia Lyney?"

Lyney obliges to explain. "That Lancia is most likely set up for the Tarmac Stages, So its low to the ground with Tarmac tyres. Of course racing slicks are Illegal so most likely they are running sport tyres, or even semi-slicks. Follow that up with a Mid Engine Rear wheel drive Layout. Not like Yelan's Porsche Blackbird. The engine sitting in that Monster Is a 2.1 Liter Fiat Abarth Twin Cam With a Supercharger. Producing at least 325 Horsepower. But paired with that is a light Composite Body, weighing in only at 925 Kilos. And with its 50/50 Weight distribution. The Lancia 037 Rally is the most agile of the bunch."

Amber then raises her hands "But why a supercharger though Lyney?"

Lyney smiles "A supercharger gives you instantaneous boost when you plant your foot on the gas. Unlike a turbocharger where it takes time for the turbo's to spool up. That's what made the Lancia's Low-End Acceleration better than the competition.

Everyone is in awe with the specifications of the now Known Lancia 037 Rally car.

Beidou is now thinking about something else. "What if this guy challenges Collei to a Race?"

Lyney Shakes his head. "I don't know about that Beidou. When Arlecchino Raced the guy. He was the only one that can Tie Arlecchino. Despite both of them being undisputed in their respective Classes, Uphill for the Lancia. Downhill for the Eight six. That guy is the only one that can tie Collei's father in a downhill race."

Collei then brings up one thing. "What if its just like me? You said his daughter is most likely the one driving the car these days and the father kicked up his feet and retired?"

Lyney agrees nodding his head. "Thinking that it can be the case. Considering he has aged quite a lot since then."

That night at Yougou. Beidou, Pela, Seele, Lyney, March, Amber and Collei Await the Lancia at a hairpin corner near the summit of Yougou.

March hugs herself "When will this Lancia arrive!? It's freezing here!"

Seele Pats her Shoulder "It'll be here soon enough. We just oughta wait.

Then the sounds of a supercharged four-cylinder echo in the distance. The Lancia is approaching and fast. Moments later The Lancia Appears once again, Four wheel drifting through the hairpin at lightning speeds. It passes everyone at Flying speeds, Its distinctive Supercharger wine, echoing around the mountain pass. On its final uphill run.

Beidou hugs herself "I don't know about you. But I feel a weird aura coming from that car. I cant explain what that feeling is. but That car and its driver gives me the chills.

Lyney raises an eyebrow "I don't know about that Beidou. But i can say one thing. If this Lancia challenges Collei to a race. This will be the closest finish we'll ever see in Yougou's racing history

At Lake Yougou, the Lancia 037 Parks beside a Red Honda NSX NA1. A Young Blonde Gal Leaning against it. The Driver of the Lancia Steps Out and looks at her.

The NSX Driver then looks at her. "Hey there, Clorinde. How's the Suspension setup treating ya?"

Clorinde shuts the driver's side door, walks to Her friend's car And leans against it. " Its Pretty much perfect, Flawless through those corners like Butter."

She then glances over the NSX's New Advance Body Kit. " Gotta say Navia This Body Kit Suits Your NSX Really well! Glad to see your NSX Have a Fresh look ya know."

Navia giggles. "Thanks! I love the new look... So, Clorinde. What's your plan with the new suspension set up now?"

Clorinde leans against her Lancia. "Do what my father can't do...

Her eyes then narrow "Beat that Eight Six.."

Navia's eyes widen from her response. "Beat the Eight Six? You do realize that it just Beaten Literally anyone that challenges her, Right?"

Clorinde snugs up a little. "Sure, But When my father drove it back then. He was the only person that's able to Catch up to that Eight Six, And in all of the Downhill battles hey have. It all ended in a dead heat. A tie essentially"

Navia gasps "Your Father... Tied with the Eight Six?"

Clorinde nods. "Pretty Much. That's what he claimed anyways. But my father was a horrible Liar. Even his friend knows that."

Navia Raises her eyebrow. "In that case. How will you issue the challenge to the eight six driver?

Clorinde smirks a little "How? Well... Personally Challenge Her Myself At That Gas station she works at. Most likely My Father's Friend slash Opponent Has Retired from racing. So Most likely it will be her Daughter."

Clorinde takes a deep breath and looks at the skies above. Taking in the current scene.

Navia looks at Clorinde and giggles "You know. this just like those times when you were struggling to shave of your course times years ago.

Clorinde Laughs "It's like old times eh?

Navia stands up "Alright then. Well, its getting late. Lets head home.

Clorinde then stands up. "Likewise."

Clorinde and Navia steps in to their respective cars, Navia's NSX starts up with ease. The Lancia takes a bit to start up but eventually starts up. The two then leave as a convoy towards Yougou. The Closest race in Yougou's history. Looming around the corner.
