The Sinful Young Master

Chapter 207: Father meets son

Evelyne shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "I don't care about any of that!" she cried. "He was my brother, Hamen! My brother! And you just let his killer walk away! You didn't even try to avenge him!"

Hamen sighed, his expression softening slightly. "Evelyne," he said, his tone gentler now, "I understand your pain. But revenge won't bring Remon back."

Hamen had warned Remon not to mess with the power to control the beasts, but he was so eager to try it, which led to his death. And from what Hamen noticed, he could tell that Jolthar wasn't a simple swordsman. Even though he was at tier 6, he gave an aura of a man far higher than that. His long blade, his presence along with that rare species of the drake, just by looking at them, one wouldn't want to make an enemy of them.

Evelyne stared at him, her chest heaving with emotion. For a moment, it seemed as though she might say something more, but instead, she turned on her heel and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

---

Evelyne ran through the castle, her tears blurring her vision as she made her way to the riverbank outside the city walls. It was a place she always came whenever she was feeling down. The sound of the stream calmed her as she used to sit by the riverbank.

Right now her mind was filled with doubts and anger. She thought Hamen had done this on purpose. He had deliberately let that killer leave. She hated him for doing it.

Her dear brother, her only joy was now killed. She didn't know what to do now.

The night air was cool against her skin, and the sound of the rushing water provided a small measure of comfort. She fell to her knees on the grassy bank, her hands clutching at the grass as she cried out.

"Inadrys!" she screamed, her voice echoing across the water. "Inadrys, please! I need you!"

It was the only thing she could think of, the only being who she thought would help her.

She called out again, her tears flowing down her face as she looked up.

The air around her seemed to shimmer, and a moment later, Inadrys appeared before her, his towering figure radiating power and authority. His golden hair gleamed in the moonlight, and his piercing blue eyes locked onto hers. It was the same form he used to seduce her, not his true form.

"Evelyne," he said, his voice deep and resonant. "What has happened?"

Evelyne looked up at him, her face streaked with tears.

"My brother," she sobbed. "Remon… he's dead. Jolthar killed him. And Hamen… Hamen did nothing to stop it. He just let him go!"

Inadrys knelt beside her, his expression softening as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice gentle.

"Remon was a fool, but he didn't deserve this."

Evelyne shook her head, her hands clutching at Inadrys's robes. "You have to help me," she pleaded. "You have to make this right. Please, Inadrys… I can't let Jolthar get away with this."

Inadrys's eyes narrowed, a flicker of something dark passing through them. "Jolthar," he murmured, his tone thoughtful.

Inadrys smiled, though it didn't reach his eyes. "Leave it to me," he said. "I'll ensure that Jolthar pays for what he's done."

Unaware to the two of them, there was a pair watching them. After watching them, it left quickly, moving towards the castle.

---

Elsewhere in the city, Myron wandered the streets, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts.

After Jolthar left, he had thought about meeting the count but didn't dare to do it. He wasn't sure if the count would help him.

He had come to Godeylet searching for Inadrys, driven by a mixture of anger and desperation.

He was now sitting in a tavern, drinking, thinking about what to do. He was thinking of meeting the count tomorrow and asking him directly, no matter what happens.

While he was drinking alone, another man came into the tavern and directly strode towards where Myron sat.

He sat beside Myron and ordered himself a drink.

"Myron," Inadrys said, his voice calm but with an edge of authority. "You've been searching for me."

"Who are you?" Myron looked at him; he didn't seem to know him or remember him. He said, "How do you know my name?"

"I know a lot of things, Myron. You have come this far to look for me, right, your father?"

Myron's eyes narrowed, his hands clenching into fists. "You," he spat. "You have a lot of nerve showing your face after all this time."

Inadrys smiled, though it was a cold, calculating expression. "I know you're angry," he said. "And you have every right to be. But I'm here now, and I have a proposition for you."

"You come as you wish, and now you say you have some deal for me. I wish I could smack you in the face," Myron said with a serious tone. As if he was ready to do. He wasn't showing the least bit of respect to the deity much less to the man who was his father. Stay updated with My Virtual Library Empire

Inadrys sighed as he said, "You think I abandoned your mother and you?"

"Isn't that what you did? I never saw you after I was born, and there was no word of you after," Myron spat as his anger rose up.

"I couldn't come because of Ivyona; she threatened to kill you and your mother. But I watched over you and your mother, told her to leave the city and leave elsewhere. Did she ever say I abandoned her? Tell me, Myron. Did your mother say that to you?"

Inadrys was trying to manipulate Myron, and he wasn't aware of it. He wanted to use him to kill Jolthar. Inadrys had another motive to kill Jolthar aside from satisfying his lover's plea.

He has his suspicions about Jolthar and what they are; he doesn't reveal them to anyone. But he didn't want to let the existence of the Jolthar continue.

"You blame me for abandoning you, but what have you done all these years?" Inadrys leaned on the table before him.

"I'm trying to become stronger." He said flatly.

"But didn't you leave your mother behind? How many times did you visit her during these past years?"

Myron fell silent.
