The Sekirei’s Covenant

Chapter 29: 29 The Ownership of Water

An hour later, the two still hadn't determined a victor, but both were pale and disheveled.

Tsukiumi was slightly better off, as she was mostly on the offensive, but her clothes had been torn in several places by the annoying vines, revealing large patches of skin.

She possessed the power of water, so she was still clean, but her current appearance only made her look more alluring.

However, even so, Sora was in no mood to appreciate it.

Compared to Tsukiumi, he looked much worse. He had bruises all over his body, his hair was a mess, and he was no longer the handsome young man he had been. He looked exhausted.

This couldn't be helped. He had taken a direct hit from Tsukiumi's Water Blessing in the previous battle, and had been struck by Water Arrow's water spheres multiple times. He felt like every bone in his body was about to break, and his internal organs were churning. He wanted to throw up everything!

At this moment, Sora regretted it a little. Why did he have to act like such a big shot when he was still a noob? If he had another chance, he wouldn't be stupid enough to step in himself. He'd let his little Sekirei swarm her. Defeating Tsukiumi would be a piece of cake!

Although he might have felt unwilling at the time, as long as he feathered her, he'd have plenty of ways to train her!

Now look at him, acting, acting, acting like some kind of saint, and almost getting himself killed!

Although he wanted to cry, he had already made his choice and there was no going back. Sora could only keep going.

"Haa… haa… You're strong! Tell me your name. Even if I can't form a contract with you, you're an opponent worthy of my respect!" Tsukiumi said to Sora between breaths.

At this point, Tsukiumi's opinion of Sora had completely changed. He was no longer some inferior monkey, but an opponent on the same level as her, worthy of her respect!

"Sora, my name! But I won't give up either. I'll defeat you, and then I'll make you my Sekirei, definitely!" A hint of determination flashed in Sora's eyes as he replied.

"You!" Tsukiumi's heart trembled again. She realized that the longer she spent with this boy, the more pronounced the inexplicable agitation within her became. It was almost reaching the point of being uncontrollable!

This change frightened Tsukiumi. She was truly afraid that she would succumb to him and become a plaything in his hands.

"Prepare to die, I'm going to use my final power this time!" No longer wanting to drag things out, Tsukiumi was determined to end the battle with one move.

Focusing his mind, Sora had been waiting for this moment.

Damn it, it was a matter of life and death. Continuing like this would really kill him!

Under Sora's gaze, Tsukiumi's aura continued to soar, and unprecedented amounts of water continued to gather. Constantly colliding and intertwining, to Sora's stunned surprise, all the water actually coalesced into a water dragon several dozen feet long in the air!

"Water Dragon!"

Awooo!!!

With a sound like a dragon's roar, the giant water dragon, under Tsukiumi's control, rushed towards Sora like a divine beast descending from the heavens with unstoppable force!

"Dodge! Dodge! Dodge!" The feeling of danger in his heart was stronger than ever before. If he was hit by this attack, Sora might even be crushed to death!

Gathering all his strength, Sora quickly jumped out of the way. He couldn't possibly face such a powerful attack head-on!

However, the next moment, something that shocked Sora's eyes happened!

The water dragon, which had clearly been dodged, actually turned around and changed direction, chasing after him!

Sora was stunned for a moment. Tsukiumi's previous moves, whether Water Blessing or Water Arrows, were all linear attacks. As long as you dodged them, you were safe. But this Water Dragon was like a real dragon, actually chasing after its enemy!

"Ah…" Still in mid-air, Sora had no way to escape. In his horrified expression, he was directly bitten down by the giant water dragon!

Defeated! Sora was defeated!

"Haa… haa… To be able to push me to this extent, you are a worthy opponent! I'll spare your life this time. If you dare to pester me again, I'll kill you next time."

Looking at Sora lying on the ground, seemingly unconscious, Tsukiumi breathed a sigh of relief while also feeling a faint sense of disappointment. She had really wanted to kill this man who had been bothering her so much, but now that the opportunity was right in front of her, she found that she suddenly couldn't bring herself to do it.

Turning around, Tsukiumi prepared to leave. This battle had exhausted her too much, and she was very weak now. For an unfeathered Sekirei, this was very dangerous. She had to find a sanctuary to recover her strength before other Ashikabi and Sekirei found her.

However, just then, a voice came from behind:

"Hehehe, Tsukiumi, the battle isn't over yet. Showing your back to the enemy, you've already lost!"

Before the alarmed Tsukiumi could turn around, something unexpected happened!

The ground beneath her feet shook, and several vines quickly emerged, wrapping around Tsukiumi's entire body before she could react, leaving her completely immobilized!

Dragging his weary body, Sora approached the terrified Tsukiumi, a wicked smile appearing on his dust-covered face as he lifted her chin with one hand.

"Looks like you lost this time. As agreed, I'm going to feather you and make you my Sekirei."

As he spoke, Sora leaned down and kissed Tsukiumi's cherry lips, ignoring her terrified expression…

Seemingly resigned to her fate, Tsukiumi deeply regretted her carelessness.

This boy was too dangerous, too cunning!

Closing her eyes, she no longer had the strength to resist, and could only await her impending doom.

However, to Tsukiumi's surprise, nothing happened for a long time. What was going on?

Opening her eyes, she saw the same familiar face, so close that only a centimeter separated them from a kiss that would feather her!

Yet, he didn't move any closer. In his sparkling, deep eyes, something indescribable seemed to penetrate her very soul.

The vines binding her slowly loosened, and Tsukiumi was free once more.

"I won't force someone who doesn't want to be my Sekirei. Let's part ways here, and I hope we won't meet as enemies next time! Take care of yourself…"

He left. Sora actually let her go, just like that, leaving Tsukiumi completely bewildered.

Her heart was a mess. Tsukiumi didn't know what she was feeling; it was complicated and painful.

Moreover, the restlessness within her was stronger than ever, almost driving her mad!

"Wait!" Instinctively, her body spoke on its own.

Hearing this, Sora stopped.

As if making a decision, Tsukiumi spoke again:

"You… you said you would make me your Sekirei, so you must take responsibility!"

"Res… responsibility?" Sora turned around in disbelief.

Splash! A stream of water poured down from the sky, drenching Sora.

"Stop pretending! Didn't you say you would make me your Sekirei!"

"Uh, I did say that." Seeing Tsukiumi with her hands on her hips, looking like she would kill him if he denied it, Sora didn't dare to.

"I understand your feelings, so…"

"It's incredible. I was so disgusted before, but now my heart is so calm. Amazing."

"Alright, this Sekirei, Tsukiumi, will gladly accept your proposal!"

With her arms crossed, Tsukiumi said something that almost made Sora faint.

"Proposal?!?" Sora thought to himself, "Wow, this Tsukiumi is something else, saying something like that with such righteous conviction!"

"Didn't I say? I am your Sekirei!" Tsukiumi grabbed Sora's collar, looking furious.

"Remember this: from this moment on, only I, Tsukiumi, can kill you."

With that, Tsukiumi leaned in to kiss Sora.

A dazzling light emanated from the two of them, and a pair of wings of light, dozens of meters wide, spread out behind Tsukiumi.

No. 9, Tsukiumi, feathered!

Secretly flashing a V sign, Sora felt the softness of the girl's cherry lips and thought, "Man, this Sekirei was hard to feather!"
