Chapter 7
Chapter 007: You Think You’ve Succeeded in Showing Off? Laughable!:
Zhao Wenjie swore to regain his dignity in his anger!
Having repeatedly embarrassed himself in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers, he was determined to leave them astonished.
He especially wanted to make Han Yi look bad and have Han Yushi be amazed at and admire him.
After some preparations, the Han family hall now featured a long table, set up with candles, fruits, incense, yellow talismans, and other common items as per Zhao Wenjie’s instructions. He also held a copper coin sword and a brass bell in his hands.
By now, it was almost evening, and the sky was getting darker.
The Han family hall started to feel eerie, with the central light flickering, scaring quite a few people.
“Damn, this atmosphere is perfect for a horror movie. How can the lights in a multimillion-dollar mansion flicker like this? Is it a quality issue?”
“Hell no, this is definitely a sign of a vengeful spirit. Oh my god, I’m scared!”
“God, I can’t bear to watch. Is there really a ghost here?” The live stream viewers were buzzing with excitement, fear, and curiosity.
Zhao Wenjie smiled confidently and started shaking the brass bell in his hand.
The ringing sound spread through the hall, creating a creepy wind that made the windows rattle and the wind howl, making the scene even more terrifying.
Han Jian and Han Zhengnan’s faces turned grim.
No one would believe there wasn’t a ghost under these circumstances. Even Han Yushi, usually calm, turned pale. Despite being a big star, she was still just a girl, and such ghostly things were quite frightening.
Only Han Yi remained unimpressed.
“Hmph!”
The displeased Zhao Wenjie shook his bell even more vigorously. Then, he pointed the copper coin sword forward, stuck on a few yellow talismans, and ignited them, chanting, “I command the ghosts of the East, the ghosts of the South, the ghosts of the West, the ghosts of the North, spirits of all seasons and festivals, heed my call…”
The more Zhao Wenjie chanted, the more sinister it sounded!
The hall grew even eerier, with the wind howling and strange noises echoing.
Han Yushi instinctively moved closer to Han Yi, even grabbing his arm, her scent and soft touch momentarily distracting him.
“Hey! By the order of the Supreme Lord, little ghost, show yourself now!” Zhao Wenjie shouted, shaking the bell furiously. Suddenly, a child appeared behind Han Jian.
It was a three- or four-year-old child!
Its skin was deathly pale, eyes completely white, with sharp fangs and claws, looking incredibly frightening. It clung to Han Jian’s neck, letting out eerie laughter.
The sight of the ghost made everyone scream in terror!
“Damn, there really is a ghost!”
“Oh my god, save me! Master, get rid of it!” The live stream fans screamed in horror.
Han Jian, Han Zhengnan, and Han Yushi also looked pale.
Han Jian, with the ghost clinging to him, was especially terrified, almost wetting himself despite trying to stay calm.
“Haha!”
Zhao Wenjie smiled proudly, enjoying their fear as a form of praise.
Under everyone’s gaze, his desire to show off surged, and he brandished his copper coin sword, shouting, “Hey! With me here, ghost, retreat now or face the consequences!”
“Roar!”
The ghost screeched menacingly and lunged at Zhao Wenjie, clearly provoked.
“Bring it on!” Zhao Wenjie laughed, stepping forward and swinging his sword wildly.
Swish! Swish!
Bang! Bang!
Zhao Wenjie moved like a master swordsman, elegantly thrusting and parrying, battling the ghost fiercely. Every strike seemed to hurt the ghost, making it scream and howl.
Ghost-catching was Zhao Wenjie’s specialty!
Despite the ghost’s speed and elusiveness, Zhao Wenjie fearlessly attacked, throwing yellow talismans to block its escape, forcing it into a corner.
The battle was as thrilling as a movie!
“Wow, Brother Jie is amazing, about to defeat it!”
“What speed! Damn, this ghost is something else!”
“Watch out on the left; it’s coming again!” The live stream viewers were on edge, rooting for Zhao Wenjie.
“Hahaha!” Zhao Wenjie laughed triumphantly. “This little ghost is nothing. With my skills, I can subdue it instantly. By the order of the Supreme Lord, behold my Five Thunders Righteous Technique!”
Boom!
With a hand gesture, Zhao Wenjie struck, his palm radiating lightning. The ghost was blasted away, screeching in pain, clearly injured.
“See that? This little ghost is no match for me. Without my help, it could have killed you all!” Zhao Wenjie sneered, eyes gleaming with excitement.
At this moment, he felt the respect from Han Jian and Han Zhengnan.
At this moment, he saw the surprise and curiosity in Han Yushi’s eyes.
His efforts had finally turned things around. He finally earned everyone’s respect and the beauty’s interest, filling him with satisfaction.
But unfortunately, Han Yi still looked unimpressed.
This irritated Zhao Wenjie, and he glared at Han Yi with hostility.
“Hmph! You think you’ve succeeded in showing off? Laughable. The real fun hasn’t even started!” Han Yi mocked, and shook his head. Then he asked inwardly, “System, can the strength enhancement skill be used on the ghost?”
The system replied, [Yes! Would you like to use it now?]
“Yes, increase the ghost’s strength by tenfold. Also, copy the Mao Shan Taoist techniques for me. I’m going to toy with him. Hurry!” Han Yi commanded coldly.
