Episode 1
Episode 1
My dagger pierced the heart of the Demon Lord.
With a mixed expression, the Demon Lord slowly turned to face me.
Even though he’s the Demon Lord, it’s been confirmed that piercing his heart will kill him.
With this, my role as a hero is over.
Forcibly summoned to another world for a year. Separated from My Angel Sister, I’ve been pushing myself this far, believing in the words that defeating the Demon Lord would allow me to return to Japan.
Finally, that day has come.
“…A hero using such a cheap shot…”
Just die already. My heart has become so desensitized that I’m thinking such things. I used to hesitate even about pouring water into an ant’s nest.
It’s all the fault of this other world.
Seemingly displeased with my sneak attack, the Demon Lord glared at me. As he attempted to move, I plunged the dagger even deeper into his body.
“Winning is winning, right? Get it? I’ve been summoned to another world, sacrificing my precious high school days, my youth. I’ve left behind my precious little sister! I want to go back as soon as possible!”
That cute little sister of mine must have finished her high school exams by now.
How much effort do you think I put into studying to teach my little sister? Huh?
“…Haha. I’ll admit it! You’re strong! But, do you know I have a second form?”
“Yeah, yeah, I know. Is this it?”
As I showed him the gem I stole during the moment I stabbed him from behind, the Demon Lord widened his eyes.
“What!? You! That’s the evolution gem for me! Don’t steal it without permission! I can’t transform without it!”
“Of course. I took it first to seal it.”
Just die already! It’s impressive that you can still move this much after having your heart pierced, but that’s just like a Demon Lord.
“You…! Fight me fairly…! Are you still a hero!?”
“Fairly? Alright, let’s do this!”
The Demon Lord continues to move even after I crush his heart.
But with various status ailments inflicted on his body, it seems he can’t move properly.
He looks extremely unwell.
“Fix it first! I’m being corroded by my body’s status ailments!?”
“Hah, that’s fair and square for me! Let’s go!”
“Wait, wait… ugh!”
My dagger jumped off his neck.
It’s finally over. After looking at the collapsed body of the Demon Lord, I proudly declare,
“Hahaha, it’s finally over! Alright, goddess! Hurry up and send me back to Japan!”
“…You were always far from being a hero until the end.”
As I shout, a blurry goddess appears before me.
She’s in a faint state like a hologram. The goddess in front of me isn’t real.
Her real body is probably still relaxing in heaven. Ah, how irritating.
She may look extremely beautiful, but she’s the damn woman who summoned me to another world without permission. She’s also the one who modified my body with magic along with the summoning.
The goddess who has often complained is now glaring at me with reproachful eyes.
“Don’t push your hero image onto me. Then, what happened to the previous hero, who was a true hero? He couldn’t defeat the Demon Lord, so I was summoned, right? In that case, isn’t it right for me, who brought peace to the world, to be the true hero?”
As I shout this, the goddess nods with an amazed expression.
“…You were truly a remarkable hero. Breaking into people’s houses, rummaging through their chests for items… opening treasure chests in people’s houses without permission… breaking pots… You behaved in ways that weren’t really hero-like… but you did fulfill your mission.”
Muttering complaints while glaring at me.
If you’re going to praise, just praise straightforwardly.
Well, the goddess is an amazing goddess too…
I thought I’d be invincible once I was transferred to another world as a hero, but she kept me confined in a mental and temporal training room…
“By the way, didn’t the goddess say? That if you defeat the Demon Lord, you can do whatever you want?”
“Well, I never thought… you’d go that far…”
“The goddess is too sheltered. It’d be better for you to come out of your box and see the world.”
“…That may be true, but I don’t want to admit it when you’re the one saying it.”
“In this world, those who are honest tend to grow easier, you know? Even the goddess should learn to be honest.”
“I am not human… but it’s not a lie to say that I am grateful. So, I’ll confirm one last time. You can stay in this world as it is. Are you really okay with returning to Japan?”
Given the choice presented by the goddess, I immediately nodded.
“Of course! I was just a first-year high school student, you know? I’m going to enjoy my youth from now on! I’ll work part-time and buy things my little sister likes!”
“Um… isn’t that not good for her education…?”
“Shut up! It’s fine because she’s cute! Come on, hurry up and send me back! Let me contribute to my little sister!”
“…There are things I want to say to you. However, you have accomplished what previous heroes could not: defeating the Demon Lord. Even when you return to your original world, please live healthily… please, live a healthy life.”
“Of course. Japan isn’t a lawless zone like this place.”
“Well, this world isn’t exactly lawless either… it’s just that you… well, never mind.”
While the goddess who summoned me muttered various complaints, she seemed to be sending me back to my original world, as a faint light enveloped my body.
…Now then, it took a year to defeat the Demon Lord.
…I wonder what happened to the continuation of the manga I was interested in? The anime? The games?
And above all else.
By the time my beloved little sister finished her high school exams…
…I wonder how everyone in my family is doing.
