The Reluctant Hero: Summoned Again and Again

Chapter 6: thanks

Sophia listened to her husband and son arguing. She spoke, "Just take Arthur to the farm, dear," knowing how stubborn her eldest son could be. Thinking of Alexander's childhood, she shuddered at the memory of how naughty he had been.

She looked at Alexander and said, "Alex, you have to promise that while you're on the farm, you'll take good care of Arthur."

"All right," Alexander replied before his mother had even finished speaking.

Hearing Alexander's promise, Sophia glanced at her husband, giving him a knowing look.

Vasu could only sigh and accept the children's demands. "Sigh, I hate kids," he thought, but a faint smile appeared on his face. After all, this is the beauty of life.

---

Without even asking Arthur, he was taken out of the house for the second time.

However, Arthur was all for it. He, too, wanted to experience the outside world.

Outside the house, the sphere-shaped orbiter soon arrived. Arthur still didn't understand how the orbiter appeared out of nowhere, and he hadn't seen his father give any orders.

"All right, kids, now we're going to the farm."

Soon, Arthur and Alexander sat inside the orbiter with Vasu. The orbiter rotated for a few seconds in place and then disappeared.

Inside, Arthur felt as if an eternity had passed in mere seconds.

"All right, kids, we've arrived at the farm," Vasu said as he took Arthur in one hand and Alexander in the other and exited the orbiter.

---

As I stepped outside, what I saw left me baffled.

"This is our farm," Vasu said.

The farm stretched as far as the horizon. All I could see was farmland.

"Is my father just a farmer?"

"Greetings, Chief. Greetings, young master," a man passing by the orbiter said respectfully to my father and brother.

Both my father and brother smiled at the man.

"Is this the small young master?" the man asked.

"Yes, he's my younger brother. From today onward, he'll come to the farm too," Alexander said smugly.

The man laughed at my brother's silly response and said, "Yes, yes, as young master says."

"All right, Harry, enough chit-chat. I heard over the phone that a massive storm came yesterday. How much damage did we suffer?" Vasu asked.

"Don't worry, Chief. The storm was blocked by the Great Mountain. It's our good fortune that our farm is located under the Great Meru Mountain range. Not only does it provide food for the cattle, but it also protects us from the wind and storms. It's truly our guardian deity."

As Harry spoke, he bowed toward the massive mountain range to the east, which surrounded the entire farmland.

"All right," Vasu said in a pleased tone, clearly satisfied with the news.

"Alexander, take your brother to the cattle house and look after him. I've got some work to do," Vasu said seriously as he handed Arthur to Alexander.

"Harry, keep an eye on the kids," Vasu whispered to Harry.

Harry nodded in response.

Vasu walked away from the area.

---

In a dark place filled with skeletons, a figure suddenly appeared out of nowhere and sat on a massive throne made of bones.

He looked down at the river of blood flowing at his feet.

A beautiful woman emerged from the river of blood. She bowed to the man on the throne and said, "Oh great king, ruler of the three worlds, according to the seer's prediction, the new avatar of the Void has appeared once again in the middle world."

The man on the throne coldly stared at the woman for a few seconds.

"Capture him alive," he commanded.

The woman shuddered at the man's words, feeling as if death itself was gazing at her.

"As you wish, Lord. I will personally handle it."

The woman disappeared into the pool of blood from which she had emerged.

After she vanished, the man sighed.

"A new avatar has finally appeared... how much bloodshed will he bring to the world?" he muttered, looking down at his feet, seemingly lost in thought.

---

Arthur, unaware of the danger approaching, was still following behind his big brother with his tiny steps as Alexander ran between the cattle, showing him his favorite ones.

"See, Arthur, this is a cow, and her name is Lohir. She's the most obedient one of all the cattle."

As if understanding Alexander's boast, one of the calves dashed toward him, knocking him into the sky.

Arthur was amused by the sight and giggled as he watched his brother rise and fall to the ground.

Alexander, now on the ground, glanced at his giggling little brother and smiled. Though he had just been thrown into the air, he wasn't hurt at all. The reason for this was... "unknown."

Arthur was the only one who noticed this strange occurrence, but he could only watch in amusement, having no way to understand the world just yet.

"You can laugh all you want now, but in the future, you'll have your turn," Alexander said with a smirk, gently picking up Arthur before running as fast as he could toward the farm's storage room.

Many onlookers saw Alexander running toward the storage room and sighed with a smile, knowing he would be scolded by their father again.
