The Rejected Alpha's Vengeance

Chapter 480: I Don’t Know Why… I Try Anymore

[SICARIO]

Rio looked at his fallen friends covered in blood.

They looked nothing like the sailors they had always been and it was almost like this was done deliberately. It is like the killers were sending a message. But then on a battlefield with different battalions, what the fuck kind of a message was that for them?

Who the fuck would have done this?

"You singled them out you fucking traitors!" Hudhayfah growled weakly as he looked at the sailors who had their bodies blown to pieces.

It would have been easier to assume that this right here was the work of the war or even that the sailors had fought with honor and met their death honorably. But that wasn't it.

They had been murdered brutally and it was more than obvious given the smirk that says pretty on Sebastian's face. He looked like if he had to do it again, he would and without so much as a pause.

This man was cruelty personified and only Hawi would ever be able to take him out. Funny how long the list was going for the people Hawi needed to take out. but then if it helped, the Russels were the only ones on her list with her and his damned family.

Even that wasn't making them feel any better right now.

"Keep fighting!!" Theo said to the warriors Hawi had taken a near break.

It was not what was expected, but the surprise was more than evident. The Russel brothers wanted to sell fear to the Greyson and Sicario warriors, like they wanted the army to leave so they could only remain with the Savasci knights.

Frankly, if this army was what they had been trained by Her before, they would have made a run for the hills. They would have tried their best to save their lives and hope to see the next day. but then this wasn't Jer's army.

This was Hawi's army. And in Hawi's army, the only way out was on the battlefield as they fought for Sicario and made sure that nothing would ever harm their home. It was what they had learned and believe in since they had been babes.

If Hawi had just been a regular warrior, she would have given her life for theirs too. It wasn't rocket science to them anyway.

"Why did you do this? And why am I the only one left standing?" a frustrated Rio asked as he looked at the bodies of his captain and friends.

They had sworn they would die at sea, and yet their bodies were mutilated on land, in a war that was never theirs to fight, but a war they had joined because they would liberate the realm from the bastard siblings.

This was the kind of pain that Rio hadn't expected and fuck was it messing with his mind. It wasn't supposed to be this hard.

Life wasn't supposed to be this cruel and yet as he looked at his friends, the only thing he could think of was whether they would have been alive if they had gone with the others to Olyana.

Then again, their captain had given them the chance and they hadn't taken it. They could have been happier. It was all so painful that Rio felt like his heart was going to come out of his chest.

War was messy, he already knew that, but it wasn't supposed to be this kind of messy. It wasn't supposed to fuck them up like this. What kind of hell was he meant to live in without his friends?

"Your mate bond with the general saved your life. But that doesn't mean I won't try to mess with the general," Sebastian said calmly as he watched the Savasci knights take a look at the mess they had created.

This wasn't fair and Seb knew that too. However, he wanted to be weak and I started. He wanted to make sure that nothing they ever did would make up for the fact that they had lost their friends and would never be able to get them back.

It was quite a burden for them to live with once this was all over. Then again, perhaps they wouldn't even be able to make it to the end, seeing as they had been fighting the entire night and it was daybreak.

It was obvious they were tired, but even in their pain and weaknesses, the Savasci warriors hadn't let loose on the Russel warriors. They had done a lot of damage and had managed to take out half of the Russel army.

That was almost ten thousand dead bodies on the grounds of Sicario. It didn't matter though, if they didn't win, because that was the only thing that mattered right now. They had to win, there was no in-between.

"What the fuck are you lot made of?" Alex asked as he looked at the park that was littered by men who were in the Russel warrior uniform. Everything he had tried with his brother so far had failed in the worst of ways.

It was like the greatest shame of all time and frankly, it was upsetting him, to say the least. The Lycans had used their magic to keep Hudhayfah safe and even then none of that had hindered their person face.

It was like they had been training long and hard for this, and if they were all being honest, the entire realm had been training for the day they would have to fight against their greatest enemies.

They had struggled, because of the Russels, and come hell or high water, they would take back everything that belonged to them. It didn't matter that they would be a little late or even that they would be haunted by a lot.

The only thing that mattered to the warriors was to make sure that their homes were never going to be weary because of the brothers and siblings who had proven to be more of a nuisance than anything they had ever seen.

This was crazy in one too many ways, but even then there was no one that the warriors were doing a little too well for people without magic.

"Imagine if we had our magical protection," Life said with a laugh as some of the warriors spiked up the remains of the Sailors and put them aside for burial after the war.

It was the hardest thing that they had done and even that Rio had ever watched and he was losing his mind. He was about to go all commando on the Russels when Sebastian listed his hands again.

"I swear to the fucking goddess if it's another spell again," Rio cursed as he looked at the man before him who had taken everything he loved and believed in.

Without the sailors, he would never be able to hit the waters again or he could be a lonely sailor. That was dangerous for him as he always never trusted people easily, but what else was there for Rio again?

"Trust me, you'll love this," Sebastian said and Alex looked at his brother like this was the worst of ideas out there. Perhaps it was because they hadn't discussed it or maybe it was because this was the cruelest of all the spells.

"The mating spell?" Alex voiced, in defeat and his brother nodded enthusiastically before casting the spell.
