Chapter 1: Chapter 1 Rebirth in Hell Mode
"Eileen Stevens, why don't you just die!"
"Ugly freak! No one would care if you were dead!"
"Good-for-nothing! You're just a dog for the Stevens family!"
The insults echoed around her as the girl with gentle features lay on the hotel bed, struggling against the pain in her body. Without hesitation, she cut into her own wrist...
This world was terrifying, and she simply couldn't bear it anymore.
Mom, I can't hold on any longer...
At eight o'clock in the evening, at the Imperial Hotel.
Eileen Bates opened her eyes to find herself in an unfamiliar room and cursed, "No way, this is too much of a plot twist!"
Plot twist? No, to be precise, she had been reborn.
Once the top assassin of the K continent—Eileen Bates—she had failed an S-level mission, and confidential information had been leaked.
What awaited her should have been a heavy sentence, but the next moment, her heart seized, and she woke up in this strange bed.
Eileen pushed herself up, feeling a sharp pain in her wrist. She tore a strip from the bedsheet and wrapped it around her wrist.
Cutting her wrist, losing blood, locked in a room, and unarmed!
Her limbs felt weak, and the heat in the room was stifling. If she still didn't realize what was happening, she'd be a fool!
Outside, a greasy laugh echoed... Eileen's expression darkened. She needed to get out of this place of trouble quickly.
There was no way to go through the door, but out of the corner of her eye, Eileen Bates spotted the open window...
With practiced speed, she twisted the bed sheets into a rope and climbed down from the twenty-second floor, successfully swinging into the bedroom of the twenty-first floor.
---
In the living room outside, Niles Hawke was on the phone, threatening the person on the other end. "Hiram Hawke, I'm giving you one last chance to open the door. If you don't, I swear I'll skin you alive."
Hiram Hawke trembled on the other end. "Bro, it's not that I don't want to open it. If I do, Mom will skin me alive!"
Before Niles could respond, a cheerful female voice chimed in on the line. "Sweet son, listen to your mother. I've had someone check your fortune, and your romantic luck is right here. Just stay inside quietly for one night, and I'll let you out tomorrow!"
Niles felt a headache coming on. "Mom, can romance really just appear out of thin air? Forcing me to get married isn't going to work like this. Wait, you're not planning to stuff someone into my room again, are you? Mom! Mom!"
But the call had already ended, leaving Niles to pinch the bridge of his nose in frustration. What was this nonsense about romantic luck and fortune-telling? Who believed in that anymore?
He tossed his phone aside and casually tugged at his tie, the disheveled collar only enhancing his striking good looks.
As he pushed the bedroom door open, the sight inside made his deep-set eyes freeze like ice.
On the bedroom floor sat a woman dressed in barely anything, her long, dark hair covering most of her body, revealing only a pair of delicate, snow-white legs.
She was holding her forehead and muttering, "What the hell is this fate?!"
Hearing the door open, the woman looked up, meeting Niles Hawke's scrutinizing gaze.
Her gaze unintentionally drifted to the loosened collar of the man in front of her, and she gasped in surprise. This was like throwing a juicy bone to a hungry wolf!
Eileen Bates awkwardly chuckled and tentatively asked, "What if I said I accidentally walked into the wrong room? Would you believe me?"
Niles Hawke simply stared at her, speechless.
Eileen got up from the floor, realizing her pajamas covered the top but not the bottom. Under Niles's piercing gaze, she felt incredibly embarrassed and decided to just pull the covers over herself and dive into the bed.
Once she wrapped herself tightly in the blanket, she took a deep breath and said, "Hey there, handsome, I really did walk in by mistake. Could you please open the door for me? If you're willing to lend me some normal clothes, I promise I'll repay you someday."
Niles Hawke parted his lips slightly and replied with two words: "No way."
Eileen scratched her head and tentatively asked, "Um... how about you lend me your jacket to cover up? I'll make sure to return it!"
Niles paused for a moment and, almost against his better judgment, tossed his jacket to Eileen. She quickly put it on and couldn't help but think how ridiculously oversized it was on her petite frame.
Eileen hopped out of bed and rushed to the door, thinking she was almost free! She pressed the handle, but the door didn't budge. She pressed again, and still, it remained stubbornly shut.
"The door's locked. You can't open it," Niles said, leaning against the door and eyeing her flushed cheeks with a hint of admiration. "So, you must be the peach blossom my mom sent me?"
Although his mother was often scatterbrained and unreliable, she had a strong sense of aesthetics.
Eileen blinked in confusion. "Me? A peach blossom? No, most people just call me a man-eating flower."
Niles was left speechless.
In a similar situation, both locked in a hotel room, Eileen Bates cautiously asked, "You're not in the same boat as me, are you?"
Niles Hawke paused, confused. "What do you mean?"
Seeing the woman fanning herself with her hands, he suddenly realized what was going on.
Hiram Hawke dared? If he went out, he would end up dead!
If that were the case, it wouldn't be their mother or Hiram Hawke behind this; they wouldn't be so deranged as to use such a method to send a woman.
Eileen Bates paced anxiously in the living room, glancing up at Niles Hawke, who leaned against the bedroom door watching her. The man was tall and striking, with chiseled features that were hard to ignore.
Eileen swallowed hard and said, with a hint of threat in her voice, "Stay away from me. I might lose control, and if that happens, I won't be responsible. But if you try anything funny, I swear I'll take you down!"
Niles Hawke couldn't help but chuckle; it was the first time someone dared to speak to him like that, especially a woman who had been wronged.
Was he being rejected now?
Eileen felt like she was about to explode from the heat. She dashed into the bathroom and turned on the shower, letting the cool water cascade over her head, bringing her some clarity.
The water mixed with the drops of blood on her wrist, and Niles Hawke frowned as he approached her. "How did you get blood on you...?"
But to his surprise, as he got closer, Eileen raised her hand and aimed for his neck. Niles Hawke quickly blocked her attack, and Eileen shot him a cold look. "I told you, don't try anything with me!"
Her movements were swift and decisive, her gaze sharp and fierce, completely unlike those delicate debutantes. She was vibrant and striking, hitting a chord in Niles Hawke's heart that had been dormant for years.
With one arm wrapped around her waist, he pulled her closer, suddenly intrigued. "What if I do? You don't seem very intimidating like this."
