Chapter 1485: Descent Of The Castle
Demon Lord Abruzul had faced countless wonders and madness in his many years of life that stretched from the Primordial Era, and the presence of the being he had supposedly killed and yet was now standing beside him did not surprise him.
He did not understand how this creature had been able to slip past his senses and come so close to him, but the Demon Lord had faced countless strange opponents, and he expected to never know the myriad of abilities that he would face every time he ventured into battle.
The Great Abyss was home to an infinite variety of beings with countless powers that could not be enumerated, and Demon Lord Abruzul knew the answer to all sorts of uncertainties was absolute power, and this unknown being in his path just represented one of the countless barriers he faced on his path.
"Interesting," the Demon Lord muttered as he unleashed his Abyssal domain and reality shuddered, his presence was instantly detected across countless dimensions.
He was briefly surrounded by a vivid purple orb that enclosed him like an egg, before it expanded in an instant, covering millions of light years and freezing everything in place.
Every demon, from the lowest of Demon Spawn to the Demon Emperors was caught like insects trapped inside amber, but the Demon Lord was not focused on them, he slowly turned towards Noctis who had also been trapped inside his domain, and stretching his long neck forward, his brought his bird head that was larger than Noctis entire body and he sniffed this mysterious being, his thunderous voice rumbled, speaking in Abyssal tongue,
"You don't smell like anything that I know, not of Chaos, Celestial, or Eldar, not even from the wretched Labyrinth. There is no hint of Time or Soul in your essence. Are you a newborn thing from the Nothingness?"
The Demon Lord was not expecting any answer from his captured target, and when Noctis suddenly started speaking, he was shocked inside his heart but he did not show it.
Despite the fact that this creature had been placed inside his domain that banished all hint of time or space from it, setting his target in a realm where every concept of life was dictated by the Demon Lord, Noctis still frozen in place, was able to move his head to the side so he could peer into the eye of the Demon Lord that was as large as his entire body,
"You have a good nose little bird," Noctis grinned, a weird light shining in his eyes that were filled with tattoos, "I would even call it a superb one, it is amazing how much the Darkness is able to spit from her womb, so much variety! But, little bird, you did not go deeper than the surface, what I am, the truth of me, it is there, you only need to look beyond what they have told you was possible… look deeper into me. I am curious to know if any memory of me remains."
Demon Lord Abruzul looked at this interesting being for a moment and then he gently brought one arm towards him, along the way, this arm that resembled a sickle split apart until it took the form of a hand with an opposable thumb and seven digits, surrounding Noctis with this hand, he suddenly squeezed, crushing the man into nothing, as he growled,
"Insect, know your place, a single interesting trick does not warrant your arrogance."
He opened his palm, knowing that this creature had been destroyed, but Noctis remained in place as if what had been crushed was nothing but a phantom, this time, he could move more than his head, he was now able to move both of his hands, and he laughed,
"Hahahaha… you are cute, little bird, I like what the Darkness has been able to create in such a short time. You know I have always admired him, more than the rest, there was always something about him that was… feisty! Ah, this is also something that I like, this language, this Age—Era? This form of life! You know, for how much I hate them, I will admit, those bastards know how to do good work."
Demon Lord Abruzul intended to kill this creature and the fact that it was alive and mouthing obscenities triggered his fury, except for powerful Old Ones, nothing in reality was his equal and he decided to silence this being, as an unease that even he had not yet detected was slipping into his heart.
A fiery crown appeared over the Demon Lord's head, and a wave of heat so powerful that the Demon Emperors and Kings near him began to slowly crumble into ash, the countless demons inside his domains had simply vanished the moment the crown appeared.
Their souls would return to the Great Abyss where they would be reborn, a far better fate than what had come to those before that had died under the black ooze. If he was going all out, then his subordinates were just useless fodder.
Noctis's body began to vibrate, it was almost too subtle to notice, but his body was being destroyed and recreated, it was happening very quickly but it did not escape the gaze of the Demon Lord,
"You have drawn my attention, man thing, and I no longer need to plunder reality for bounty, you shall be my prize and everything that you are will be revealed to me."
A grimace flashed through Noctis's face as if he was in intense pain, yet when he spoke his voice was still steady,
"You do know that there is no need to take such a convoluted step to know who I am when I have practically given you the answer on a platter… just look deeper, Abruzul Leharhris Schmiel, Kin Slayer, Oath Breaker, Pariah!"
The eyes of the Demon Lord tightened and caution entered his heart, his True Name had just being uttered by this creature and although Abruzul had reached a level where the damage that could be caused to him by others who knew his True Name would be negligible when he could rapidly recover his essence from his Abyssal Throne, no one except a Demon Overlord should have been able to know his True Name and all of his Titles.
Either he was being betrayed by a fellow Demon Lord, which was the most likely answer or he had just come across something truly special, the Demon Lord resolved that he would be taking this creature back to the Abyss, only there could the full measure of his power be unleashed and his understanding of this being could be completed.
Curiosity lacing his voice, Abruzul asked,
"What are you?"
Noctis smiled, he could now fully move his body, but he made no move to escape out of the hand of the Demon Lord,
"Keep killing me and you will find out… Oh, seems like you have killed me enough, that naughty child has heard my voice."
Looking upwards into the void, Noctis screamed, "Did you really have to make me go through so much pain before you returned to me?"
Overhead, reality shattered as the proclaimed first fortification in all of existence, Algorth, Homebase of Prism, am the discarded castle of the Primordials, broke through the void, where it came to settle overhead.
