The Pokemon System

Chapter 76

Chapter 76

----------------------------

As the system alerted Adrian of the elapsed time, Adrian became nervous as he started to think of how to get out of the peril.

[Oh shit! I can't keep wasting my time like this! I must first get out from this encirclement of the Zubats. Grimer, quickly point me to a corner with no Zubats around.]

<Yes, Master.>

The Grimer heard Adrian's command as it started to look around the Cave with it's eyes. Unlike Adrian, the Grimer was okay with being in the darkness and could see everything very clearly.

<That place looks good! Come here, Master!>

Adrian felt the Grimer pulling him along, as he followed behind it. Soon, both the Grimer and Adrian reached a far away corner of the cave, that was not being beseeched by the angry Zubats.

[Ohhh.. it's a lot better here. Let those stupid Zubats rampage there as much as they want. But, what should I do now? Capturing Zapdos in an environment like this is next to impossible!]

Even if there were no icy winds inside the cave, the temperature inside was still too low for any long term survival attempts. Adrian's body shivered as he rubbed himself to regain some warmth to his body.

The Grimer also agreed with Adrian, as to do something meaningful here, they would first have to find a way to escape the Cave. But, even if they went back outside, just staying alive outside would be too much to ask from Adrian.

The situation was a perfect checkmate to both of them, as the Grimer tried to come up with something. It tried it's best and analyzed every soltuion possible to their situation.

In the end though, there was only one thing that the Grimer could suggest.

<It seems that way Master. Why don't we try it again later?>

The cold seemed to have frozen Adrian's ability to think as well, as upon being reminded by the Grimer, Adrian remembered that he could easily log out too!

Adrian facepalmed himself, as he had made a very NOOB mistake.

He had no need to continue suffering in an ice cave like this. He was no masochistic freak after all.

[That's right.. That's what we should do, I suppose.]

Adrian calmed his body's trembling as he inhaled deeply. Making his resolve, Adrian finally decided to instruct the System.

[Hey System? Log me out now. I want to the session right now.]

<User Request Acknowledged. Commencing Log Out.>

As soon as the System prompt arrived, Adrian vision suddenly turned black. It wasn't long before he found himself back in his room. Meanwhile, the Grimer had went back into the System Space, while he had returned back to his own world.

Adrian felt light hitting his eyes, as he looked around himself and tried to sit up. The trembling of his body due to the severe cold, along with the numbness of his limbs and mind were gone too. Adrian sighed in relief as he tried to stretch his body a bit.

[Phew. Feels good to have my eyesight back. It was a seriously troublesome experience though. It must be tough for those without proper eyesight to survive...]

And that was when his sight turned to the windows, as the sun rays entered it slightly, illuminating the room more than ever before.

[It's morning already, huh? That means that I slept through all night. Let's get out of the bed early today.]

Adrian quickly got up and took a bath, before grabbing an old dry bread and chewed it while he walked out of the building.

[I want to test the new Zubat's abilities. But, if anyone saw me doing all of that, some weird rumors would certainly start spreading again.]

After moving towards a more desolate area, Adrian looked around to make sure no one was looking, before he sighed in relief.

[This place seems fine. Zubat, come out!]

A dark hole opened up beside him, which closed as soon as it had opened up. As Adrian looked at the spot in confusion, the Zubat quickly dived down in front of him as it flew around him.

<Greetings, Master.>

Adrian was initially a bit scared by the sudden greeting, but when he looked closely, it turned out to be the latest addition to his own team.

[Woah! It certainly.. looks scary up close. However, now I would have a means of aerial combat too! No more just attacking those within our reach.]

Adrian rejoiced to himself, as previously he thought that he had become so strong that nothing would hinder him from then on.

Unfortunately, or fortunately perhaps that the incident in the Ice Cave really changed his overview about the strength of an individual. Adrian realized that there are many factors in a battle, like air superiority, or the element of darkness. Even perhaps the element of terrain or temperature.

These things calibrated his sense of self, as his desire to survive and to grow stronger intensified.

Having Zubat in his team would not only give him the advantage of air attacks & recon abilities, it would also give him a means of dietrupting a large group of enemies too. That was because, even if Zubat didn't have much firepower, but it's support abilities were absolutely top notch, not to mention it's tremendous agility stat.

That was why, Adrian decided to enquire the Zubat about it's moveset.

[Hey Zubat? Which moves do you know by now?]

The Zubat moved to float infront of Adrian as it replied.

<I know LEECH LIFE & SUPERSONIC, Master.>

Adrian rejoiced within his heart about this, as both moves were very effective, especially against a large number of enemies.

(...both moves are usable.. especially that LEECH LIFE.. now that's a move I can use very well secretly.. the perfect move to fight unnoticed...)

Although Adrian felt that having SUPERSONIC in his arsenal would be very effective, he let that be for later on.

Without delaying it anymore, Adrian quickly set the move in his third slot.

Now his three selected moves in his arsenal were
Slot 1 - DISABLE
Slot 2 - POUND
Slot 3 - LEECH LIFE
