Chapter 7: A Tease
Chen and Nara moved to the bed and all you could hear was the sounds of crickets she removed her top gown as they both lay on the bed, the quietness was making her so nervous and her heart was beating loudly as they were laying too close to each other and because of the humid air, the inner cloth she remained with clung to her like a skin which clearly highlighted her figure.
Chen was lying on his side motionless, and she could feel his gaze and scalding her back. He wanted to make the first move but didn't know if she was okay with it, and he really did not want to engage in what she did not really want.
She was tired of waiting for him to make the first move her heart couldn't take it anymore because it seemed like it would explode from her chest, so she turned to him and locked eyes with him as she raised her hand slowly and placed it on his nose, slid it down to his cheeks and finally tracing to his lips.
She really liked how he looked. She couldn't look at her former husband this close during her last lifetime, so they just did everything without having to stare at his face.
"You are playing a dangerous game," he said to her in a low, rough voice that caused senses to return and her toes to curl.
Nara smiled. "And you are not?" she asked as her fingers moved down to the sash at his waist, loosening it with a single pull. Chen gasped at her boldness. He didn't know where she got the confidence, but she did whatever she wanted to do, and that impressed him.
Nara was too far gone. She didn't know why, but she realised she enjoyed teasing him. "The emperor with his harem full desires a servant", she whispered into his ear.
"You are no servant," he said, his breath hot against her ear. "You are a demoness in human skin." And with that, he had all the consent he required, and he pulled her closer to himself, his hands at her waist, pressing her against his toned chest, and it was like a furnace of the heat burning her.
She felt his knee separating her legs apart, the material of his trousers rubbing her inner thigh. She gasped—not at the action, but at the look in his eyes which was so intense, her actions surprised her she was never one to react like this but since last night she had been doing everything outside of her character and at least last night she had the drugs to blame but tonight this was all her
She moaned and his mouth claimed hers, not with the grace of an emperor, but with the raw desperation of a man starved of affection. The kiss was rough, and it flooded her senses. His hands left her waist to gather her hair, tilting her head back as the kiss got more desperate. His palm slid beneath her innermost robe. And she moaned and could feel him trembling.
She laughed lightly. "You are trembling, your Majesty." She said, arching into him, her lips grazing his ear. We just met only last night. You know she told him, and I am not your concubine. She was talking too much, so he silenced her with a kiss.
Their clothes were discarded as they held to each other, "Chen", she called his name, and he looked at her, surprised no one had uttered his name for a long time, and it undid him.
As the night progressed all you could hear were moans and heavy breathing Chen was risking too much by involving feelings in their relationship but he knew he couldn't keep it that off the relationship as she had ways of tugging at his heartstrings and he knew he was done for as he was going to be wrapped around her finger moving forward.
Everything she did from her actions to her words surprised him but in a good way and now he was thanking his stars he met her he was so angry at the concubine because she drugged him as he was mourning with no regard for him but from that awful experience, he found out this amazing woman who intrigued him in every way he did not know what was to come in the future but he promised himself whatever it was he will protect her as he looked at her laying in his arms as she drifted to sleep.
In a room on the other side of the palace, the sound of glass clattering against the wall echoed as a servant cowered in fear. A woman was trembling with rage, foaming at the mouth. She had prepared everything and dressed her best as tonight was supposed to be a significant night for her, and the emperor had never missed it before. Yet, the maid had just informed her that he had gone to his mother's palace.
The old hag had been dead for years, but that house remained a cherished place. On a normal day, it would not have bothered her, or she wouldn't really care if he visited at any other time, but not tonight as it was a special night for them. "I will burn down that damned palace!" she shouted as her servants tried to calm her down.
"It's just a palace, Your Majesty. It's not worth losing your temper over, for it's not that His Majesty is with a woman, please, calm down," one maid pleaded as she knelt before her. The woman took a deep breath and nodded. Yes, she would calm down; it was just a house, not a person. She would look back on this moment years later and laugh at her naivety it was this night that all their misfortunes started.
"What happened to that hussy who drugged him yesterday?" she demanded. The servant replied that there were already many women eager to deal with her, and they shouldn't interfere. She acknowledged the truth in that; she couldn't be bothered to lift a finger for someone so insignificant. Someone else would take care of it.
