Hello, this is my first time writing a fanfiction. If you notice any errors, please feel free to give me constructive feedback. English is not my first language, so if you notice any mistakes, please mention them in the comment section at the end of the chapter. Let's begin the story!
Word Count: 2700 Words
Note: Just a reminder that I've changed the Guild Auxiliary chapter. I've made some changes to it. I've removed a couple of NPCs and added a few.
Due to my college work, I was unable to upload the chapter sooner. Also, I had to change my mobile.
I've released two chapters. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Unknown Location,
New World, Overlord Verse.
The King of Darkness that is, the absolute ruler of the Great Tomb of Nazrick and the Nation of Darkness, Ainz Ooal Gown.
---
A giant skeletal figure cloaked in exquisite robes sat upon an imposing throne, behind an equally grand table. The being's hollow eyes stared absently toward the door as if lost in ancient musings. Dark, ominous energy radiated from him—a testament to the centuries of arcane wisdom etched within his undead form. It was as if he was not merely a skeleton but an overlord steeped in the mysteries of magic and death itself, he who has overcome the finality of everything but time itself.
Silence held the room in a solemn grip until the hollow sound of a door knob turning broke the quiet.
"Lord Ainz, it's Mistress Albedo and the Elder Liches."
The skeletal figure stirred, instinct almost prompting him to rise and answer the door himself—a habit from his life long past. Stifling the urge, Ainz—or Momonga, as he was once known—sat back, adjusting his posture. In a single practiced motion, he extended his arm with the fluidity honed over countless hours. His voice echoed through the chamber, commanding yet measured.
"I see. Let them in."
The maid at the door, dutifully bowing to the Supreme One, opened it with reverence. Stepping into the room, she turned towards the skeletal overlord, bowing once more before stepping aside to usher in Albedo, who followed in silent, poised deference. With a final nod to Albedo, the maid exited, closing the door with care, leaving her master alone with his loyal Guardian.
"Good morning, Lord Ainz," Albedo said, bowing with grace as her voice laced through the silence.
"Morning, Albedo," Ainz replied, his tone calm yet weighty. He noticed the Elder Liches stationed outside and nodded absently toward the door. "I see you are the first to arrive today."
"Yes, Lord Ainz," Albedo answered, rising from her bow. "Preparations have been made to the Supreme One's standards. The city's management is proceeding as expected, and I have taken personal responsibility for training the Elder Liches. They will be ready soon."
Ainz nodded, reassured. "I knew I could rely on you, Albedo. There is no need to overburden yourself."
But at his words, Albedo's face fell, her voice trembling as if on the edge of tears. "Lord Ainz… have I displeased you?"
Seeing her distress, Ainz raised a hand to reassure her. Gently, he stepped closer, placing a skeletal hand on her head, awkward yet sincere. "Not at all, Albedo. I am more than satisfied with your dedication. I only mean to remind you not to push yourself too hard. It has been only a week since we assumed control of E-Rantel. Expecting every task to be accomplished immediately would only hinder… your daily activities. Yes, your daily activities and health. Nazarick's strength is my responsibility, and as the leader of Ainz Ooal Gown, I need you well."
Albedo's face softened, and she nodded, seeming appeased. Ainz, relieved to have calmed her, changed the subject with a question. "Have the others gathered in the Throne Room?"
"Yes, my lord. I came here to escort you."
Satisfied, Ainz allowed himself a slight flourish, his robes sweeping dramatically as he gestured forward, hoping to inspire the fanatic admiration he cherished in his loyal Guardians. In hopes of earning fanatic points from his Guardians.
"Very well, let's proceed. We'll continue this discussion in the Throne Room."
At her signal, the maid opened the door for her lord, and Ainz made his way through the dim corridors. As he walked past the manor that once housed E-Rantel's former mayor, he glanced at the imposing architecture, now a symbol of his rule. His skeletal form cast a long shadow, stretching across the hall as he moved with regal purpose toward his destination. He walked in strides towards the side building.
---
After a brief exchange with Pandora's Actor, in which he handed over a copy of the latest report on his newly founded kingdom, Ainz opened a dark portal, sparing Albedo a glance as he prepared to step through.
Together, they disappeared into the blackness, on their way to the council that awaited in the Throne Room.
---
Seated upon his throne, Momonga listened as the frog-faced demon and the succubus listed their reports, nodding along with every remark.
They heaped accusations—or what he perceived as accusations—upon him. They spoke of his masterful manipulation techniques, his brilliant orchestration of events, and his godlike ability to pull the strings of mortals as if they were mere puppets. They called him being the one worthy of being called the Supreme One and speculated on his supposed 10,000-year plan.
Ainz sighed inwardly, feeling the weight of their words as he hoped the meeting was drawing to a close. Yet, as his gaze drifted to Demiurge, he saw the same zealous look in his general's eyes. But there was something more this time—a change in his demeanor, as if he was about to share something he deemed trivial. And Ainz knew, from his experiences so far, that "trivial" in Demiurge's mind would likely lead to yet another headache for his nonexistent brain.
"Lord Ainz," Demiurge addressed him with a tone of reverence, snapping Ainz out of his thoughts.
Being addressed by Demiurge, Ainz heightened his senses, ready to listen to anything this general of his could have interpreted from his flimsy Overlord act. Or what absurd tale he could have spun from his actions and words, while giving him all the credit in the end.
"What is it, Demiurge?" Ainz responded quickly, not wanting the demon general to steer the conversation in his usual way, which often spiraled into chaotic, far-reaching plans. This time, Ainz hoped to divert the topic before it evolved into another complex scheme of world domination. "I suppose you wish to speak of it."
Ignoring the curious looks of his other guardians, he continued. "Perhaps it's something about your Happy Farm?" he added, trying to nudge Demiurge toward a personal interest he could obsess over. 'With any luck, it'll keep him preoccupied. I remember reading his last report on that Happy farm... I only hope he hasn't abandoned it. Having some simple hobby is quite a welcome among the bizarre interests, my friends have written for them. Despite the scheming persona of his, is he the only one with a normal hobby in this entire Guild?'
Mussing to himself, he let his gaze wander.
As his gaze passed over the other Guardians assembled before him, Ainz silently wished they, too, would find hobbies in this New World that didn't involve grand battles or conquest. Just a little something… fulfilling, harmless even. He ignored his own unresolved emotions that had been simmering just beneath his ruler-like exterior.
Demiurge bowed deeply, his eyes alight with admiration. "As expected of the Supreme One, our leader and master." Rising, he adjusted his glasses and nodded in self-satisfaction, a gesture that left the other Guardians exchanging confused glances.
"It is… Demiurge."
Ainz gave a hesitant nod at Demiurge's cryptic statement, but the others, unsure of its meaning, could only look on, puzzled. For Ainz, the words triggered a familiar sense of dread, as if he'd unwittingly stumbled into yet another landmine of his Guardian's making. While he struggled to maintain his composed facade, Demiurge chuckled softly, caught up in his own reverence for the "Supreme One's genius."
Meanwhile, Shalltear, Aura, Mare, and Cocytus glanced at each other, visibly puzzled. Even Albedo seemed perplexed. Stepping forward, she turned to Demiurge. "Demiurge, could you share this revelation with us as well?"
Demiurge adjusted his stance, nodding to Albedo. "It was exactly as the Supreme One had foreseen."
This only heightened the collective confusion in the room, including Ainz's own. Shalltear finally voiced the shared question. "What is it, Demiurge?"
"Yes, I want to know too," Aura added, and Mare chimed in, "Me as well." Cocytus rumbled in agreement, his deep voice resonating. "DEMIURGE. I. TOO. AM. CONFUSED. EXPLAIN. THIS. TO. US."
Demiurge, now facing the Guardians with his back to Ainz, unknowingly shielded the skeletal figure from view. From behind Demiurge, faint pulses of green aura flickered around Ainz, betraying his own shock and disbelief as he strained to understand what Demiurge was even talking about.
Oblivious to Ainz's silent turmoil, Demiurge continued, "As our master suggested, I was initially concerned, but I'm now reassured. The Supreme One, our leader and the last of the remaining Supreme Beings, was already aware. Otherwise, it could have been a serious hindrance to our plans."
The atmosphere grew tense as Albedo's voice cut through, laced with anger. "WHO would dare present a hindrance to the Supreme One?" Her aura flared, a wave of pressure that was matched by the other Guardians, who took Demiurge's words as a call to arms.
Ainz, feeling cornered by his words, grew even more cautious, his worries temporarily forgotten as he focused on maintaining his regal composure lest he let himself off, worried about this unknown danger that Demiurge spoke off.
Letting his Guardians voice their thoughts, he chose to wait, hoping they might unravel the mystery on their own and save him the trouble of venturing yet again into Demiurge's plans.
---
Demiurge raised a hand, signaling everyone to calm down. Turning to Ainz with a look of anticipation, he spoke, "What do you suggest we do, Lord Ainz? Hearing your perspective could allow us to nip this issue in the bud."
The rest of the Guardians looked on, curiosity intensifying. They sensed something substantial beneath Demiurge's words, but, like Ainz himself, remained in the dark.
Ainz brought his bony hand to his chin, affecting a look of deep contemplation. 'What exactly *is* this supposed issue?' he mused internally, hoping to buy himself time as he prepared to respond. Finally, after a deliberate pause, he spoke.
"Demiurge."
"Yes, My Lord," came the demon's earnest reply, his eyes gleaming with fervor.
Ainz cleared his throat—at least, he simulated the act—and began, carefully assembling his thoughts as he spoke. "Demiurge, I can see that the rest of the Guardians are… curious. I think it would be wise to brief them as well. After all, as the Floor Guardians of Nazarick, they should be kept informed about matters affecting Nazarick's operations. This will foster better coordination among them. In fact," Ainz added, inspiration striking, "this could serve as an important learning experience for them, a valuable exercise in handling complex situations firsthand."
His gaze drifted forward, and for a moment, he seemed to stare through the throne room walls into some vision of Nazarick's future—a future grander than the Guardians had imagined. To Ainz's relief, his words had a profound effect; some of the simpler-minded Guardians were clearly moved, while Demiurge and Albedo wore expressions of pride and reverence.
Demiurge, satisfied with Ainz's response, nodded in agreement and turned to address the others. "As many of you may know, I've been conducting certain experiments in the Abelion Hills, near the Roble Holy Kingdom." He paused, adjusting his glasses with a thoughtful hand, then continued, his voice taking on a weightier tone. "During a scouting operation in the northern reaches of the Abelion Hills, my familiars uncovered a peculiar site—an ancient ruin concealed behind a debris-filled cave. Upon further inspection, we discovered it was an ancient temple devoted to some false Supreme God… a being they call 'The Fool.'"
He finished with a slight edge to his voice, his disgust and ridicule for this so-called "god" clear, and cast his gaze over the Guardians, all of whom listened in stunned silence.
---
The temperature in the room froze, silencing the Guardians as Ainz turned contemplative, pondering the identity of this so-called "Supreme God," the Fool.
"Who dares call themselves the Supreme God in Lord Ainz's presence?" Shalltear spat first, her voice dripping with contempt. "Do they have a death wish?"
Aura nodded in agreement, chiming in, "Only Lord Ainz is worthy of that title. This world is full of idiots who fail to grasp his greatness."
"You're right, Aura," Albedo interjected quietly, though her aura was anything but calm, radiating a fierce chill. "These insects are ignorant of the true supremacy of the Supreme Beings. Worshipping some worthless creature as their god is the peak of foolishness. They will pay dearly for their offense."
Though Ainz felt a strong pull of curiosity about the ruin Demiurge had discovered, he held himself back from indulging in questions. The history and treasures that might lie buried beneath intrigued him greatly. Could this ruin somehow connect to the Eight Greed Kings or even the Six Gods of the Slane Theocracy? But his earlier charade compelled him to silence. 'Maintaining the persona of an all-knowing Supreme Being—it's tiring.'
His thoughts lingered on how this religion might compare to that of the Six Gods or those from Yggdrasil and Earth. Was there some link to Earth similar to Six Gods, perhaps? But his questions went unvoiced.
Oblivious to Ainz's inner turmoil, Demiurge pressed on.
"Based on the inscriptions I deciphered with the translation monocle I borrowed from the Mage of the Empire..." Demiurge trailed off, retrieving the monocle and offering it to Ainz.
"Hmm," Ainz murmured, accepting the monocle he had loaned to Fluder Paradyne.
Demiurge continued. "From the scriptures, it appears this fake Supreme God has taken multiple forms, and his true name is unknown. The murals describe this deity in detail, outlining his nine avatars, each used to 'bless' his devotees. Yes, they refer to themselves as 'devotees,' not 'followers' as the Six Gods Religion would. It's a complex structure, far more intricate than that of the Six Gods. The murals are rough and faded, with only information of five of his forms intact; the rest have crumbled with time."
Ainz, holding himself back with great difficulty, found himself wishing—almost praying—that one of his Guardians would ask Demiurge about these avatars. To his relief, Albedo voiced his unspoken question.
"Demiurge, could you tell us more about those avatars?"
"Yes." Nodding at her prompt, Demiurge elaborated. "One of his avatars is the Dragon—the Dragon of Destruction and Catastrophe, as he's known. The texts describe him as a colossal beast, his mere existence a threat to the world itself."
'A dragon avatar...and a powerful one at that,' Ainz thought, musing over the possibility. 'Could he be a Doppelgänger with the ability to take on forms? If he has a dragon form, what level would he be? Dragons were the ultimate forbidden race in Yggdrasil, surpassing even the gods. Boss-level dragons were a nightmare for players, especially the World Enemies. It was impossible for players to choose Dragon Racial Class.'
Contemplating the implications, Ainz wondered if this so-called Supreme God was a player—or perhaps a native of this world.
"And his second avatar," Demiurge continued, "is a Demon. Though his name has been scratched away, he is associated with all the evils of the world and..." He paused, creating suspense. Sighing at the foolishness of the cult, he continued. "World Disaster. They also call him the Lord of Chaos."
