Chapter 14: Chapter 14
It's been a week since that mysterious building appeared inside it. At first, the building was scary as the power the building radiated when it appeared was tremendous but now it just felt as if it was just a normal structure. but still, the dungeon wanted to know what sort of thing was inside the structure. So it began letting mana seep into the building as the dungeon wanted to know what was inside it. The first time the dungeon let its mana go inside the building it lost connection with its mana. So the dungeon began pouring more mana particularly on the floor where the building appeared as it thought that it would gain a connection with his mana again if the mana was denser.
what **** said was right and wrong at the same time as the dungeon was currently sending mana inside nazarick. The dungeon wasn't 'feeding' a monster so it could get stronger, it was pouring a colossal amount of mana inside nazarick as it wanted to view the interior of nazarick but the current amount of mana was not sufficient to fill nazarick so that the dungeon could gain a link with its mana again. That was the reason why **** said that something was helping him in containing the dungeon but it was not true as the dungeon was spending mana on another thing and that was the reason why it was weakened.
The dungeon calculated that one more week was enough for it to fill nazarick of mana. That was if another disturbance did not occur.
The only reason why it was taking a lot of effort and power was that the structure appeared in the upper floors where the dungeon had less control. (Although the dungeon considered it an upper floor, the adventurers considered it the deep floors.)
------------
Ainz was currently at the surface in the newly built base as he was doing some paperwork.
The red dot in his eyes scanned the paper quickly as he nodded. After nodding he picked up his stamp and stamped the paper he was currently holding and placed it on the side where the stack of papers was.
'With this I'm finished.' He thought as he picked up the last paper that was on his table.
He sometimes wondered why Demiurge and Albedo still gave him work like this for him to approve. He hadn't understood anything written on it but he still stamped it as the papers were already reviewed by those two.
After placing the last paper on the stack, he took out a small notepad from his inventory and began to write something.
'Ha, who should I pick? I should have left this to demiurge or Albedo. I think that they would pick the members better. Now if I make a mistake when picking someone I will be questioned because of the choice I made.'
Sigh,
Ainz sighed again as he thought of the choice he made back then, it was something he could've left Demiurge to do.
'Now what should I pick, we need more potion makers and blacksmiths.' Ainz then began to think about what type of classes should he bring out as that went limiting the options of people he could bring out.
.
After a while, Ainz finished making his decision of who were the people he was going to bring out and what classes they had.
'Oh, Should I bring those two too? They are still children so maybe they are tired of being inside nazarick without going out.' Ainz suddenly thought of sebas children.
"Also, isn't their birthday this week? Mhm, It's decided then, we should bring them out so that they can enjoy themselves." Ainz decided that they too would be brought to the surface as their birthday was near. He also decided to personally tell sebas about his decision so he did not write it on the note.
"Now what should I do?" Ainz asked himself as he neared the window of his room. He saw Demiurge and Mare passing by the corridors outside." where are they going?" he muttered until it came to mind what they were discussing earlier about how they had a meeting with the receptionist elf.
"Ah, I had forgotten about that, what should I do? I said that I would give her a gift and I forgot about it." Ainz began to panic because he didn't know what gift was suitable.
Ainz began to search his inventory to find something suitable for the elf.
After searching for a while he brought out eleven items, which all radiated beauty and power. All the Items looked like it was made by an artisan deity as it was finely decorated and well detailed.
The first Item that was laid out in the table were as follows:
Circlet of iron will
Appearance - The circlet resembles a golden ornamental headband, with an intricate crest in the front.
effects - defends the mind against charm, fear, and other such mental attacks. Still, while the crown renders one immune to magical attacks,
it can only strengthen the wearer's resistance against attacks derived from special abilities. It does not prevent the user from feeling fear that comes from within.
Drawback - the circlet would also negate positive magical effects.
Flight necklace
A necklace in the form of a bird's wing
allows flight when one focuses his/her awareness on it.
Grimoire
dark black tome with a gaping skull faces in its cover with blood-red lines.
act similarly to magic scrolls as anyone can use them, although it contains more spells than the magic scrolls.
Magic staff
IT is a golden rod, topped with a precious crystal covered in gold.
it boosts one's magic attack and increases one's mana.
Necklace of heavy recovery.
it has the appearance of a necklace with a goddess holding up an emerald.
An item that consumes the user's mana to cast the 3rd-tier divine spell「Heavy Recover」.
The caster could use it indefinitely as long as that person possessed sufficient mana.
Rose Crystal
It was a crystal with a clear radiance that imitated the thinness of the crystal petals makes it almost resemble the real thing. They are not fused together but are actually carved from a single crystal. Rather than being crafted magically a craftsman with the attention and genius of a God class skill produced it.
Has no magic ability but can fetch an unimaginable price.
twelve magical points
It is a small clock made from an unknown yellow crystal. The numbers shown in it are written in an ancient language.
It has twelve first-tiered spells that can be used once an hour.
Spells can't be stacked upon.
multi-colored crown
contains 5 crystals on each of its points.
it allows the use of a high-level buffing spell.
blue quartz
A blue crystal that can likely reach a good price
No magic imbued
Ethereal sun
A sun-shaped pendant that seems too perfect for the world.
grants a boost to light attacks
Fenrir's Moon Ring
A ring of a silver wolf with a blue crystal in the shape of a half-moon in its mouth.
Can summon moonlight wolves if the one wearing it feels threatened or is in immediate danger.
Gauntlet of primary colors
An eyecatching gauntlet that had a shiny gem set into the back of its hand.
It was a superior piece of craftsmanship that imbued with three spells:
Body of Effulgent Beryl: A spell that reduced bludgeoning damage.
Body of Effulgent Heliodor: A spell that reduced slashing damage.
Body of Effulgent Aquamarine: A spell that reduced piercing damage.
Thus, it could be said that it lessened all physical damage taken by the wearer.
Drawbacks: It breaks once any of the spells are used.
Ainz didn't know which item he should pick. He had many of these items so he was willing to give one of them to her and they were items that he didn't consider valuable.
"Ok, let's give her this one." Ainz picked the rest of the items and placed them back in his inventory. Depending on the value and amount of information they received from the elf, her value would be reconsidered.
Ainz began walking out of the room he was currently in. The room he was currently in was located on the 10th floor of the building. That was how tall the building was. They didn't have plans of making it that tall at first as that would attract more attention but they decided on it as they saw that there weren't high-level beings currently.
Even then they attracted some attention as they finished a ten-story building in a week. The building couldn't be considered small in any manner as the size of the land it occupied was a whooping 20 acres piece of land and of that land, 15 acres were occupied by the building and 5 acres had Gardens, fountains, etc. multiplying that by ten floors was just insane. So it was no wonder that some gods started pestering him.
Right now that was something that troubled Ainz as the group of gods that were going to research in the angel's weapon wanted a building exclusively for it and now they were asking him that he lent his builders. He wouldn't have been that troubled if they were humanoid creatures but as they were they looked more like a monster than a demihuman or human.
They had been pestering him since then but he didn't know what to do so he directly reject them and hid all this time so that they would stop pestering him.
After passing by more rooms he came out of his room.
The guardians decided to give the whole tenth floor to him. He deemed it a bit excessive but there was nothing he could do as the guardians rejected him when he said that they could also move into this floor.
They said something along the lines of " Ainz-sama is the supreme being, therefore, has to be in a higher position than us, we can't be on the same floor as that is preposterous. We will be on a lower floor Ainz-sama."
He had to accept the decision made or else they would be going on with a long debate.
After walking a while he came in front of what looked like an elevator. He wondered how they had easily gathered the information about it. It took them no time to fabricate the elevator even when it was their first time using the materials of this world.
Indeed, they were god-level blacksmiths as they adapt to anything. Now he really desired to observe how quickly they could steal the methods the gods used to manufacture their weapons.
After he entered the elevator, he made it bring him to the first floor where he saw Demiurge and Mare.
Piling,
Then a sound came from the elevator as it reached its destination and it automatically opened its doors.
After coming out he saw that Demiurge, Aura, Mare, and Sebas were walking towards him.
As they came in front of him they bowed to give their respect.
"We will be departing in a while Ainz-sama," Demiurge said
Ainz felt the atmosphere thicken when Demiurge spoke. It seemed that he was taking this meeting he was going to have very serious.
Although Ainz wanted Demiurge to relax he couldn't say anything because he too understood that it was indeed a heavy responsibility that they were going to bear. And although they could gather information in other ways, it would be too time-consuming of a task.
"Are you the only ones going? who else will be going with you?" Ainz asked demiurge as he only that they were the only ones gathered.
"No, Ainz-sama we will be taking some of the Pleiades members with us," Demiurge responded
"Will you not be taking Albedo or Pandora's actor?" Ainz asked in curiosity as he didn't see them.
Demiurge's face became shame stricken. He was not the only one though as even Aura, Mare and sebas became ashen.
Their faces became ashen because they thought that Ainz asked as if to say 'will you be enough to do this job without your other capable companions'.
But Ainz was confused as to why they turned like that but he didn't ask about it.
"Unfortunately they can't come with us Ainz-sama, they have returned to nazarick as they have to do their job," Demiurge said with a regretful expression.
"Mhm," Ainz just nodded as he had forgotten about it. They still needed Albedo to administer and run nazarick as they were still in an unknown situation and pandora's actor was helping in managing the defense forces while Demiurge was out.
"Give this to the girl after she finishes giving you information." Ainz took out a small golden box with some strange markings on it and gave it to Demiurge. "Also, when you come back I will want a report on the things you gathered. I would also want to know what you think about her so you will all need to file a report. Well then, I will be leaving you here." Ainz said as he gave his back to them letting his intention be known.
"Oh, I almost forgot, here's the list." Ainz turned back and gave a piece of parchment to Demiurge. "Also, Sebas prepare your children as I would like for them to come to the surface." Ainz then directed to Sebas
They bowed again to give their respect and Ainz turned away and began to walk.
He began to walk at a rapid pace as he didn't want them to ask him too many questions about the decisions he made. Although he was sure he could probably find an excuse.
As he walked in the expansive corridors, he began to enjoy the beautiful scenery of his new home.
Although he felt it was very luxurious and flashy he was already accustomed to it as his rooms in nazarick were even more majestic and breathtaking to the point that he felt that nothing could be compared to it.
Along the way, he saw various traps and golems made to defend the base.
His feet unknowingly brought him to the front gate where he saw some people and gods asking to see him.
As soon as he saw it he teleported inside his room. He didn't want to deal with any of them at the moment.
He would wait for Demiurge to go out so that he could deal with them.
After Demiurge dealt with them he would finally go out peacefully.
He also remembered he had not checked the status paper that Demiurge gave him. So he took it out and began to analyze it.
Alina Heather
Human
Level seven
'Level seven, huh. It seems a level 35 is equal to a level seven. so that means that 5 Yggdrasil or the old world level equals 1 level to this world. If that's the case when she gains one Yggdrasil level would she level up to level eight in this world?
Strength C-688
Endurance F- 354
Dexterity B-798
Agility E-471
Magic S-999
'Eehhh! it seems that there are only five stats available.' After seeing the stats in the paper he felt surprised and confused as he thought that it was totally different from what he knew in the game. She should have 9 stats in total but there seemed to be only five. the ones in the paper were the strength that could be converted in physical attack, endurance which could be converted in physical defense, dexterity which he thought could be converted in agility until he saw that the status paper had agility.
So he was confused why dexterity was separate from agility, and it seemed that the status of the game he remembered didn't have that particular stat. So he decided that it was a special stat of this world. The last stat was magic which he assumed was MP.
The ones missing were HP, Magic attack, Magic defense, Resistance, and special ability.
'It seems that her previous stats were distributed in this particular order. And now that I see it, are those the maximum stats that she can gain for this particular level or can she get a higher stat without leveling up? because if that's the case, doesn't that mean that she can make a high-level build as she waits for her stats to be maxed up?' Ainz thought as he saw all her stats and compared them to the one he knew of.
'She's level 35 and that was distributed to seven levels, how does this system decide when you level up? Becuase if she gains one more Yggdrasil level, will the system deem her suitable for a level up, without giving her a chance to raise her stats?' Ainz asked himself again as he was curious about how the system of this world worked.
'No, maybe that is the max stats she can reach in this level because if that's not so it would be particularly broken. because in each level you would be able to raise your stats to the max. Even in Yggdrasil, there was a limit of how many stat points you can gain in each level. Maybe this world is like this and what is likely the limit of the stats can reach?' Ainz asked himself and decided that it would need more investigation and information to know how the system in this world works.
Magic = (clean, create water, light healing, magic arrow,
acid arrow, shockwave, temperature change, Thunderlance, odorless,
lesser dexterity, electrosphere, Fireball, Flame resistance, Haste, Heavy recovery,
Hot spring, Iceball, Thunderball, Burn lance, freeze lance, Grand fireball, shock lance, Appraisal magic item ... and much more.)
He began to move his finger downward of the paper and saw the magic section.
"Hmm, It seems that these are the magic that she can use. It is good as it tells you how much magic and which magic she can use but it seems that it is not separated by tiers nor by the elemental properties."Ainz murmured as he saw all the magic Alina had available for use.
It doesn't seem much different from Yggdrasil. What Ainz didn't know was that it wasn't that different from Yggdrasil but it was far-reaching from this world's system as the maximum capacity of magic one could have was 3.
...
Skills=( Magic hand, compound alchemy, Wisdom of Accessories, Quick mixing... and more.)
Description
[Magic hand- It enhances 5% of all medicinal items made.
Compound alchemy- It enhances the quality by 7% of all offensive items made.
Wisdom of Accessories- It was was a skill that was acquired by having Alchemist,
Greater alchemist, Craftsman, and Item smith all maxed up. It enhances the quality of scrolls and magic items made.
Quick mixing- It cuts out 50% of the time making a low-level potion. You can make two low-level potions in the time of one.]
'hmm, it seems that all her skills, special skills, abilities, and class abilities are allocated in the skill section of this status sheet.' Ainz thought as he recognized the skills and abilities. ' so special skills abilities and special abilities are counted as skills.'
...
Development abilities = Wizard- S, Queen- S, healer- S, Alchemist- S,
Greater alchemist-S, Craftsman-S, Item smith-S
Ainz then moved his gaze to the last section that was left on the paper.
"Hah, Why are the job classes in the development abilities? and it seems that all of them are S. does it mean that all of the classes are mixed out? So an S means max, so if that is the case it means that she can likely max out her remaining stats that are low. Her wizard class job is S and in Yggdrasil, it took five levels to max out and it seems that there are exactly 7 job classes and each of them is maxed out making exactly 35 levels. '
" if a heteromorph receives a blessing of the gods where will the Racial levels go in the status? Will it also go in the development abilities?" Ainz said to himself. "Racial development? haha," Ainz laughed as he said his lame joke.
Like always he was not very good at making jokes.
----------
'will you be enough to do this job without your other capable companions?' resounded through his head. He had his head bowed as he thought of what Ainz had said earlier.
It was true that he and his companions hadn't accomplished anything significant during the week they came. Moreover, Ainz - His master- had already accomplished a great number of significant achievements during the week.
The most recent ones with the lance. He had already tested the defense of this city and its inhabitants. His master had first made a small dungeon outbreak to see how quickly they could contain it, in the process checking how their strength diminished by handling a small outbreak. As the inhabitants were already a bit tired with the small outbreak he made his second stage of his plan, by sending a lance making it seem as the city was going to be destroyed, to see how much power could the city raise after being in danger of destruction.
Indeed it was a formidable plan that even he hadn't thought. Demiurge was also in awe about another move Ainz made. It was the plan of buying all the potions before the day of the outbreak to see how fast the news spread and how fast the inhabitants reacted to it.
And another thing that happened was that by destroying a part of the city almost all the gods lent their 'children' to help in rebuilding the part that was destroyed. That weakened the surveillance in the city thus they could advance with building their base more quickly as a lot of the city's manpower was focused on another thing.
He was also in awe because in a night his master had also made a connection with a god and now he worked for them. It was made in a single night! He was seriously scared of his master's prowess, at that time he, Albedo, and Pandora's actor had a talk.
Right now his master was also stacking some magic potions, and he wondered what his master had in mind.
That was why he would be doing his best to squeeze all the profits of this opportunity that was given to him.
Demiurge knew that if it was his master he would probably gain all the information in a second. He also knew that if his master wanted to conquer this city alone he could do it in less than a month. He already knew this because of the things his master had done since coming to this world. His master had done all those things day after day since coming to this world.
He was afraid that his master didn't need them as even when the three intellectuals - him, albedo, and Pandora's actor- came to the city they couldn't do anything close to what his master had done.
After thinking all that he refocused again as right now he was given an important mission to do.
Demiurge lifted his head as he walked proudly into the guilds building. It seemed that he was thinking quite a while as he was already here.
After entering with Aura, Mare, Sebas, lupusregina, and solution some adventurers turned to look at them and began to murmur something.
Demiurge began to look around as he didn't see the elf -that they were supposed to meet- behind the counter.
As he looked around he saw that the girl was seated at one of the desks located at the corner of the building.
They began to walk towards her and it seemed that she noticed as she began to stand up as soon as she saw them.
"we'll talk later rose." Demiurge heard the elf speak to the other person that was with her.
Their steps came to a halt they understood that they were going to be attended but the elf needed to excuse herself first.
"Follow me," The elf said as she began to walk. They passed by a door leading them to a room at the back of the guild.
The room was a bit small and it was not very attractive. In other words, it was a very crude and ugly room.
The desk and chairs lacked any sort of art.
"Have a seat" Eina said as she brought them into the room. The desk already had a pile of books laid out.
"Wait a minute. I will go find some refreshments." Eina said to them.
She left the room and closed the door on her way out.
"Hmm," Demiurge hummed in thought.
He stretched his hand and grabbed a book from the table.
After he did it his companions too grabbed a book each and began going through it.
After a while, Eina came in with a dull-looking silver tray. After setting down the drinks and snacks, she sat down on the opposite side of them.
"Huh!" Eina was surprised as she saw that they were already studying the book.
She didn't say anything about it though.
"Then do help yourself," Eina said as she pointed at the snacks to them.
"Hmm~"
Aura raised the glass of juice with a bored expression on her face. Aura took a mouthful of the juice Eina had brought them.
After drinking the juice a particular of hurtful words came out from her cute mouth.
"This doesn't taste particularly good. And it doesn't have any special effects either."
"...!"
-----------------
Eina heard some hurtful words coming from the elf boy. Nobody had ever said something like this to her, even when she had attended god. The boy's words filled her with concern, surprise, and sadness.
'What did he mean with special effects? Did "no special effects" mean no poison? Did he believe that I would be trying to poison them from the beginning? What did he mean by that? Is he like that because of his experience? Did it mean that there were a lot of people trying to hurt them or worst kill them?" Eina thought
What she didn't know was that Aura was just saying expressing her opinion as a child and how she felt truthfully.
"Aura!" she heard demiurge say in a particularly flat tone. His face didn't contain any hint of emotion.
"S-sis, T-that was rude of you." She saw what the girl next to aura said.
'Sis, so that means both of them are girls?' Eina thought
"I'm sorry." Aura said but it didn't contain any sign of her feeling guilty but Eina didn't care because she thought it was something trivial. And it seemed that the girl had said it because of experience, She was only feeling sorry for them.
It also brought up her desire to help them more. Even though she knew that they were the ones that stopped the destruction from happening she still wanted to help them.
So she began her lecture.
She talked about every floor and its monsters. She had said the weaknesses they had if she knew. The paths of the dungeon, the safe rooms on each floor.
They also talked about the city and other things.
.
.
.
After hours of teaching them, she saw that demiurge was the smartest from the group as he had learned every detail from what she had explained.
Her time as a teacher came to an end after some time as it was already noon.
"Eina-san, Take this, Ainz-sama sent it as a token of appreciation." Demiurge stretched out his hands handing her something.
"Thanks, but I can't take it, I did this because I wanted to. There is no need to pay me." Eina responded as she really did it because she thought Ainz was an irresponsible god as he sent his children to the dungeon without them knowing anything about it. but it seemed that he was just confident in their strength.
"I can't take it back with me or else Ainz-sama might scold me for it," Demiurge said as he handed her a small black box. " Well then, we will be leaving," Demiurge said as they parted.
Eina didn't hear anything at the moment because as soon as she opened the little box she entered in a daze.
"Huh! Huhhhhhh!" Eina, let out a shout after a while. what made her shout like this was the item found inside the small box.
It was a ring. Her ears slowly went getting red it then climbed down to her face until it reached her neck. She looked like a ripe tomato with how red her face was.
"huh, Why. Is it really like that? but... but." Eina saw the ring but she thought there was a significant reason why a ring was given to her. One Ainz hadn't even thought of.
She wanted to run out and return the ring but she preferred to stay in the room for a while because she had to calm down her fast-pumping heart before coming out.
After a while, she came out of the room but she was absent-minded that she didn't hear her friend calling her out. she quickly packed her things and returned home as quickly as she could.
After many twists and turns, she reached in front of her house where she took out the ring and just stared at it. She was deciding whether to put it on or to leave it in her house where it would be 'safe'.
But the latter option was just an excuse she was finding for herself. After many minutes of thought, she finally came to a decision to put it on but placed it on her middle finger.
Just by thinking about it, Eina became red again. She didn't know if what she thought was right so she placed it on that finger and not in her ring finger. 'She also wouldn't accept it if it was a matrimony ring even if the one who gave it to her was a god.' Well, she thought like that but who knew if she would stay like that forever.
She turned to look at her surrounding to make sure nobody had seen her as she entered her house.
---------
Today they had gathered a significant amount of information. And now he knew why his master also hadn't made a move to conquer the city by force.
'It seems that the dungeon is currently being restrained by god. So that was the reason Ainz-sama didn't want to antagonize the city. It seems that Ainz-sama already knew about it so he decided to take things slowly. As expected of Ainz-sama' If Ainz were to hear Demiurge's current monologue he would probably be questioning himself.
"We each need to make a report of what happened today. And Aura you made a blunder today, what would have happened if that elf got mad and decided not to give us information. Ainz-sama would be heavily disappointed in us. Don't you remember what he said before sending us off? 'Will you be enough without the help of your other capable companions'. It seemed that he already had some doubts about us."
Demiurge directed to Aura.
Her face went pale as she heard Demiurge.
"Be sure not to make the same mistake again." That was the only thing he could do to help her.
He saw sebas looking at her worriedly. And it seemed that sebas felt his gaze as he turned to look at him.
Sebas hurried his pace a little and came right beside him.
"Demiurge-sama, I would like to ask you a favor," Sebas said to him. He frowned a little as he already had an inkling of what sebas wanted but didn't understand why sebas used honorifics.
"Demiurge is fine sebas. No need to use any honorifics. What is the favor you need?" Demiurge responded already knowing what he would be asked for.
"I would like for you to help me prepare my children before coming to the surface. I don't want them to be a disgrace for Ainz-sama." Sebas had really said that.
Demiurge liked the kids but he thought that their importance level was below those made by the supreme beings. And he wasn't the only one in nazarick like that as most of them like sebas kids but their importance was below them. Even sebas thought so.
It wasn't that he didn't love them enough but his thoughts were like that. He valued the supreme beings before his children and wife.
He was also prepared to take them down in case if they want to rebel. They weren't made by the supreme beings thus they are not loyal like them. And that was why since they were born they were being instilled fierce loyalty to the supreme beings and Ainz their last Ruler.
"Mhm, leave them to me," Demiurge said as he accepted the favor asked to him because he didn't want the children to bring shame to his God, ruler, and supreme being. Their last reason they were living for.
