The Only Ending for the Villainous Pig Count Is Destruction

Chapter 25 - Disciple

Scene 025 Disciple

Early Dawn

I’m currently running around the courtyard of the Ruelberta estate.

Although it is called a courtyard, it is more like a space reserved for family gatherings or events such as tea parties when nobles are invited.  It usually sits empty, so I thought it would be a waste not to use it.

So recently, I started running here in the mornings.

Partly to lose weight, but mainly to see how far this body can go.

“Haa… Haa…”

How long have I been running? Maybe thirty minutes?

My body feels heavier, and my breathing is getting harder.

Alright. It’s time.

I start sprinting, pushing myself to the limit.

But this time, I’m using patience.

[You activate ‘Patience’!]

My pace picks up instantly. My breath comes quicker, but I hold it back patience suppresses the gasps, making my breathing unnaturally steady, like my heart’s been sealed.

How far can I really push myself?

Of course, ‘Patience’ does not make me invincible. But I need to know my limits for when things go wrong.

I decided to keep running until I reach my limit. However, no matter how hard I ran, my breathing remained calm, as if I hadn’t been running at all.

It’s a strange sensation, like I could keep running forever.

However, after about 15 minutes, my pace began to slow, and I finally stopped, even though that wasn’t my intention.

That’s when it hit me: I had reached my limit.

My body… it won’t move.

It felt as if someone had flipped a switch, turning me off. Like my energy had been cut, leaving only my senses working.

“Haa… Haa…”

Being completely aware but unable to move—it’s an unsettling feeling.

If I don’t use patience properly in battle, I could end up dead.

At least I learned something today, but still…

But still…

“Haa… Haa…”

With the last bit of strength I had left, I called out to the maid who had been running behind me.

“Wendy…”

“Haa… Y-yes…?”

“You’ve been making noise for a while.”

“S-sorry… haa… I’m really sorry…”

Even though I told her I would run alone, Wendy insisted on accompanying me. Dragging herself here so early was already hard enough, but she still wanted to run with me.

She was panting heavily at my side. It seems she even bought workout clothes, hoping this would be serious. I have to admit, this level of determination is impressive.
