Chapter 200: Chapter 200
"Winner: Tempest Wraith!"
The robotic voice of the announcer echoed throughout the massive arena, and the crowd responded with cheers and applause, particularly from the Air Guild's section, where several players stood up, celebrating Jacob's victory.
Among them, a short-haired girl in a short skirt was jumping up and down excitedly, clapping her hands with a wide, beaming smile on her face.
Her joy seemed genuine, overflowing with excitement as she watched Jacob step out of the battlefield.
Ali barely spared her a glance before shifting his gaze to the other side of the arena, where the Martial Arts Guild members sat in silent disappointment.
Five of them were gathered together, their expressions ranging from frustration to outright disbelief, their shoulders tense, their jaws clenched.
Ali observed them for a moment, his sharp black eyes scanning their body language.
'Did they bet their own Paradise Coins on the fight?'
It wasn't uncommon for players to wager money on duels, especially when fights were this intense, but judging by their crestfallen expressions, they had likely lost more than they could afford.
Then—
A deafening roar erupted from the far side of the arena, where over sixteen thousand players had gathered in a single section, their voices blending into an explosive wave of excitement.
Ali's gaze immediately snapped toward them.
His eyes followed the massive crowd to the source of their attention, locking onto the intense battle unfolding below.
CRACKLE
A blinding flash of blue electricity surged across the sand, pushing back a towering man encased in rock-like skin, his entire body covered in a solid layer of mineral armour.
Ali's black eyes narrowed.
The signature spell of the Rock Guild.
And the one who had unleashed it...
Ali's eyes locked onto her-
And for a brief second, even he had to lean forward, intrigued.
She was something else.
The woman standing in the arena was clad in polished black armour, her stance powerful and poised, radiating a fierce aura of dominance.
At the centre of her chest plate, the insignia of the Lightning Guild was engraved deeply in shimmering blue, glowing faintly like a pulse of raw power.
But it wasn't just her armour or the way she carried herself that caught Ali's attention.
It was her.
Her long white hair cascaded down her back, sleek and flowing like strands of silver silk, reaching her waist with effortless grace.
Her face was breathtakingly beautiful-so much so that even Ali, who rarely reacted to appearances, found himself fixating on her features.
She had sharp, delicate cheekbones, a sculpted jawline, and full lips that gave her a regal, almost ethereal beauty.
And then there were her eyes—
A shade of deep, electric blue, glowing faintly as if lightning itself surged behind them.
She wasn't just beautiful-
She looked divine.
'If I didn't know better, l'd think she had my healing cells...' Ali mused, his mind briefly entertained by the thought.
But his interest wasn't just her beauty.
It was the aura she carried.
Composed. Confident.
And dangerous.
She held a long, elegant bow in her hands-yet there was no bowstring, nor did she carry a quiver of arrows.
She didn't need them.
Instead, she calmly lifted her bow, aiming directly at her opponent.
The Rock Guild player, realising the danger, slammed his hands into the ground, murmuring an incantation under his breath.
Ali's sharp gaze didn't leave her.
Then—
CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
Suddenly-
A massive lightning bolt descended from the sky, striking directly onto her position.
BOO000000000OM!
A violent explosion of light and energy erupted from where she stood, blinding everyone momentarily.
As the electricity converged, it didn't strike her down—
It coiled around her arm, feeding into her drawn-back hand, forming the shape of an arrow made entirely of pure, unstable lightning.
The ground trembled beneath her as wild bolts of electricity discharged randomly, setting the sand ablaze wherever they struck.
Her eyes snapped open, revealing a brilliant blue glow, her pupils completely consumed by raw lightning energy.
Sparks flew from her fingertips, flickering in the air like miniature storms, her entire body vibrating with barely-contained power.
She struggled to hold back the arrow, her arm shaking under the immense force, yet her expression remained composed, her posture unwavering.
Then—
"RELEASE!"
VOO000000000000OM!
The arrow of pure lightning shot forward, tearing through the air at blinding speed, leaving behind a trail of scorched sand as it surged toward her opponent.
The Rock Guild player reacted instantly, slamming his hands into the ground again.
BOOM!
A massive ten-foot rock wall, six meters thick, erupted in front of him, glowing with a deep orange-brown hue.
The engravings on the golem-like structure pulsed, rapidly siphoning the Spirit energy from its summoner, fortifying itself into an unbreakable defence.
Ali's eyes flickered with intrigue.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
BOO0000000000000000000000OM!
The lightning arrow collided with the rock head-on, and the impact was so violent that the entire arena was consumed in an explosion of pure white light.
For several long seconds, the battlefield was completely obscured, the brightness so intense that the audience was forced to shield their eyes.
Then, as the light began to fade, the arena was revealed once more—
And what remained was devastation.
The Rock Guild player was gone.
His defensive wall had been obliterated, leaving behind nothing but a twenty-meter-long trail of burned, scorched earth, as if a meteor had crashed into the arena and dragged itself across the sand.
The stadium erupted.
"Winner: Celestia Thunderbloom!"
The name alone sent the crowd into an uncontrollable frenzy, their cheers and screams shaking the entire coliseum.
It wasn't just the Lightning Guild members celebrating.
Even independent players and members of other guilds had risen to their feet, applauding the spectacle they had just witnessed.
Celestia, however, showed little reaction to the chaos around her.
She simply lowered her bow, turned, and began walking toward the exit, her movements graceful and effortless, as if the battle had been nothing more than a warm-up.
Ali watched her leave with a slow smirk creeping onto his face.
'I like her.'
So much so that he didn't even acknowledge Jacob's presence next to him, nor the Air Guild members gathered around.
"She's hot..." Jacob muttered, his gaze following Celestia as well.
PUNCH!
The short-haired girl suddenly punched Jacob in the ribs, glaring at him with an enraged expression.
"OUCH-what the hell was that for?!" Jacob exclaimed, holding his side.
"What did you just say, you bastard?!" she shouted at him.
Jacob, realising his mistake, quickly grabbed her, pulling her into a tight hug to shield himself from another punch.
"Baby, come on. Slip of the tongue! I swear!"
Ali, still watching, couldn't help but smirk. "Your tongue does slip a lot, doesn't it?"
Then his gaze shifted to the girl.
"Girlfriend?" he asked, even though she was right there.
Jacob grinned. "Yup! Ali, meet the love of my life, Siline."
Ali's expression didn't change.
'He's a good liar.'
Siline, now looking at Ali for the first time, froze.
Her entire demeanour shifted.
"Hi... uh..." she stammered, her voice suddenly much quieter.
"Jacob told me about you. He said you two were best friends."
Ali blinked.
His black eyes flicked up to Jacob, who was already slowly stepping backward, as if preparing to dodge something.
"He said we were best friends?"
