Chapter 125: Chapter 125
"Master where are you going?", Natalya asked her Jedi teacher who was boarding a starship.
"Natalya dear, i will be back in a month, do not slack on your training. Take care of yourself", the older Jedi master said in her soft voice to Natalya who nodded back worried. They'd gotten quite close to each other.
The spaceship closed it's doors and Natalya watched as her master flew away to a far away planet.
Back on Korriban, the underground arena buzzed with palpable tension as Sith acolytes gathered in the shadowy expanse, their murmurs filling the stale, electrified air. Sith Masters, taking rare breaks from their obsessive pursuits of knowledge and power, watched from elevated balconies.
The sandy arena floor, dimly illuminated by flickering torches, seemed to anticipate the bloodshed to come.
At one corner of the arena, Ali, the masked acolyte, sat calmly beside Sivara, his dark aura drawing the occasional curious glance. Sivara, dressed in her elegant robes, sipped her tea with an almost maternal patience, seemingly unfazed by the brutal contest about to unfold.
"You seem remarkably composed for someone who initiated this duel," Sivara remarked, offering her tea to Ali again.
Ali shook his head. "It's not my fight," he replied curtly, his eyes locked on the arena floor.
Despite Ali's stoicism, the whispers among the spectators were growing louder. Everyone knew that this match wasn't just about the fighters—it was about the enigmatic acolyte who had orchestrated it.
The silence broke as one of the arena's heavy iron doors creaked open, its echo silencing the murmurs in an instant. A droid, stationed in the centre of the arena, turned to address the crowd.
"Presenting the first combatant: Cassian Valefor, Sith Apprentice."
From the shadows of the corridor emerged Cassian, his steps deliberate and exuding confidence. His dark blue battle suit clung to his athletic frame, highlighting the fluid grace in his movements.
His striking blonde hair glinted under the torchlight, and his piercing blue eyes, now rimmed with the fiery red glow of the Dark Side, scanned the crowd with an air of arrogant superiority.
A small group of acolytes cheered loudly, their voices filled with admiration. Cassian acknowledged them with a faint smirk as he strode to the centre of the arena.
Without a word, he raised his hand, and his lightsaber flew from his belt, spinning through the air with an effortless flourish before snapping into his grip.
He ignited the blade, its menacing hum slicing through the silence as the red glow bathed his face in malevolence.
Cassian twirled the lightsaber with practiced ease, displaying his dexterity and precision as he executed a series of showy moves, ending with the blade pointed downward like a predator waiting to pounce.
"I heard his opponent doesn't even have a lightsaber!" one acolyte muttered, his voice filled with disbelief.
"Yeah, what's he gonna do? Dodge his way out of the arena? HAHAHAHA!" another chimed in, drawing laughter from the surrounding crowd.
Cassian turned his gaze toward Ali, who remained unmoved in his seat beside Sivara. Raising his lightsaber, Cassian pointed it directly at the masked acolyte. "Your friend falls today," he declared loudly, his voice laced with venomous confidence.
"And then… you're next."
Ali didn't react. His gaze remained fixed on the arena door opposite Cassian, which remained firmly shut. The crowd followed his line of sight, the tension building with every second.
The tension reached its peak when the second iron door creaked open.
STEP. STEP. STEP.
The ground trembled faintly with each heavy footstep, echoing ominously through the arena. The murmurs died instantly as the door swung fully open, revealing the dark corridor beyond. Slowly, a massive figure stepped into the light.
Drogath emerged, clad in his newly-forged black armour, the glowing purple veins that snaked across its surface casting an otherworldly glow.
The plates of the armour added to his already colossal frame, making him appear even more beastly than he already was. His golden-yellow eyes burned brightly beneath his helmet that accommodated his sharp purple horn, locking onto Cassian with an expression of cold, unrelenting focus.
The crowd gasped, some leaning forward in their seats, others retreating slightly from the sheer presence Drogath radiated. Even the Sith Masters exchanged intrigued glances.
"Incredible…" one Master whispered, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "He's cloaking himself entirely in the Force. Such density in his armour… impressive for an acolyte."
Sivara leaned closer to Ali, her voice barely above a whisper. "Where did he get that?"
"From Vrixor," Ali replied indifferently, his tone revealing no trace of respect for the Sith Master in question.
The droid in the arena announced, "Presenting the second combatant: Acolyte Drogath, under the tutelage of Sith Master Malgrith."
Drogath stepped to the centre of the arena, towering over Cassian, who for the first time felt a pang of uncertainty. The golden-yellow of Drogath's eyes pierced through the blonde apprentice's bravado, unnerving him.
Cassian regained his composure and took a deliberate step forward. His movements were smooth and calculated, his lightsaber humming with deadly promise. "I must admit," he said, his voice dripping with mock admiration, "you cut an impressive figure beast. But all that bulk will only make your fall more spectacular."
Drogath didn't bother to respond. He simply flexed his massive fingers, his gauntlets creaking ominously as he cracked his knuckles. The air around him seemed to grow heavier, crackling faintly with the Force.
The droid raised its hand and shouted, "Begin!" before leaping into the crowd to clear the fighters' path.
Cassian wasted no time, surging forward with a burst of speed. His crimson lightsaber arced through the air, aiming for Drogath's neck.
But Drogath sidestepped with surprising agility for his size, the blade missing him entirely.
Cassian followed up with a series of rapid, precise strikes, targeting Drogath's joints. Each swing of the lightsaber was met by Drogath's gauntlets, which glowed faintly with Force energy. The lightsaber's deadly blade glanced harmlessly off the armour, failing to leave even the smallest mark.
Cassian growled in frustration and leapt backward, thrusting out his free hand. A Force push burst toward Drogath, sending ripples through the sand as it slammed into him. The glowing veins on Drogath's armour flared brightly, absorbing the attack entirely.
"Is that all?" Drogath growled, his deep voice reverberating through the arena.
Cassian's eyes narrowed. He darted forward again, this time aiming low, his lightsaber sweeping toward Drogath's legs in an attempt to sever them.
But Drogath stomped the ground with immense force.
BOOM!
The impact sent a shockwave rippling through the sand, throwing Cassian off-balance. Drogath seized the moment, channeling the Force into his fist, which glowed with raw energy. He delivered a devastating punch toward Cassian's midsection.
Cassian managed to raise his hands in time, summoning a Force barrier to cushion the blow.
BANG!
The punch collided with the barrier, shattering it and sending Cassian flying backward. His lightsaber flew out of his hand as he hit the ground, rolling to a stop.
Cassian gasped for air but quickly summoned his lightsaber back to his hand. Blood trickled from a cut on his forehead as he rose unsteadily to his feet.
"You're strong, brute," he admitted, his voice edged with irritation and focus. "But strength alone won't save you."
He darted forward once more, this time using erratic, unpredictable movements to confuse Drogath. Leaping high into the air, he flipped over Drogath's head and slashed downward.
Drogath turned just in time, raising his arm to block. Sparks flew as the lightsaber clashed against his gauntlet. Cassian landed behind him and unleashed a flurry of strikes, his lightsaber dancing like a serpent.
Drogath blocked most of the attacks, but a few glancing blows passed though his Force and left faint scorch marks on his armour.
With a roar, Drogath slammed his fists together, unleashing a Force shockwave that knocked Cassian off his feet once again.
Drogath didn't let up. Channeling the Force into his hands, Drogath punched the air in the direction of Cassian.
BOOM
The air burst towards Cassian who blocked the punch with the Force but his body was pushed back against the walls of the arena. That was but the first strike.
BOOM BOOM BOOM
One after the other Drogath unleashed a flurry of punches that slammed Cassian into the wall of the arena his back sustaining immense damage even behind his wall of Force.
Under the unrelenting pressure of Drogath's nonstop Force strikes Cassian let go of his lightsaber and had it fly in the air spinning directly at Drogath.
Drogath saw it coming and spread his arms wide, each arm flaring wildly with purple as a ridiculous amount of Force gathered in his arms that the sand started flying into the air around him.
Sith masters in the crowd stood up and raised their hands in anticipation of Drogath's monstrous explosion of Force.
Drogath brought his hands together in a loud clap directed at Cassian just as the lightsaber was about to strike him.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The strongest explosion of Force Ali had ever seen from a Force user. The Force exploded out in Cassian's direction, the shockwave sent the lightsaber flying into the roof of the arena and continued it's path to Cassian.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Cassian screamed, summoning every ounce of Force energy to shield himself, his fear of death empowering his dark side.
It was futile. The shockwave broke through his defences, slamming him into the arena wall. His body hit with such force that it left a deep imprint, breaking his bones with an audible crack.
The sith masters used their Force to block the attack from killing the acolytes in the crowd, the entire arena shook as Cassian's body printed itself deeper and deeper into the wall of the arena.
