Chapter 74
61. The knight reveals.
“… excuse me, Knight Commander, Deputy Commander. … a little, would you mind?
It was after Arthur, who was taken by Lord Pride, returned and completed all the rest of the exercise of the day.
I immediately spoke to Clark, my deputy chief.
Perhaps it is about the earlier Lord Pride. Clark nodded, prompting him to talk, Arthur seemed a little uncomfortable for some reason. “… Um, a little here.” I’ve clouded the words.
Has something so serious happened? A little less impatient, I invited Arthur with Clark to my room, which is the Knights Captain’s Office.
At first, it was after Lord Pride called me to speak after Arthur prefaced me with “I want everything I talk about to you now to be confidential”.
After that, Mr. Stayle took me on an instant trip, and I can’t tell you the details, but he was helping Lord Pride with his “favor.”
Indeed, the instantaneous movement of the Stail-like has been laid down even within the Knights once. It’s natural that I want to talk to you confidentially.
But Arthur’s first mouthful felt otherwise included… was it my fault?
“And… I also want this, if possible, to remain confidential…
Arthur also said, nervously, turning away for the first time.
And when he turned straight to me and Clark, he told me this quietly and in a clear tone.
“Father, Clark…. My special ability is not the power to energize crops, but the power to heal diseases of all things.
…………………⁈
… understanding… didn’t catch up.
I can’t unwittingly block my open mouth, I can’t speak.
“… what do you mean, Arthur?”
Clark is uncommonly upset. That should do the same. Because it’s the ability I only heard as a rumor from an early age, such as a special ability to heal the disease.
But Arthur speaks up clearly.
“No, it’s the power to heal the disease. Crops weren’t the only special abilities I had.
Clark utters an end to the word.
No, I can’t swallow my head yet.
I intend to gain the flexibility and adaptability to deal with a variety of situations as a Knight Commander, but the words released from my own son were far more than that.
Holding my head I recall when Arthur first showed me his special abilities at an early age.
Indeed, the crop my wife tried to grow for the first time shriveled in the wrong way. That day I went as far as corrosion and talked to my wife that I couldn’t do it anymore. I went home to help clean up the crops I had lost. My joyful wife drew my hand and for the first time I learned about Arthur’s special abilities. As soon as the shriveled crop was touched by Arthur, it breathed back.
I didn’t believe and doubt “the special ability to grow crops well,” neither did I., my wife, and Arthur, and I thought Arthur’s special ability to give plants the power to live was something to be proud of. Then Arthur became ashamed of his special abilities just because they were unsuitable for knights, but I didn’t know that they were special abilities that, rather than plants, gave all things the power to live.
Plant-related special abilities are not uncommon in themselves. Some of the special abilities I have met myself have encouraged plants to grow or blossom freely. So Arthur also used to try and see if there were any other applications when he found out his special abilities were unsuitable for knights at an early age. But he was desperate for his own ability neither to manipulate plants nor to promote growth. I never imagined that vague expressions such as invigorating, rather than plants, were more sincere.
If I recall now, when Arthur was born and I or my wife was beside Arthur, would I have fallen down with a cold or a disease? When I was going home and back as a recruit, my fatigue never broke down anyway. I joined the main unit as a knight, and since I started to sleep and eat in the Knights’ room, I have caught a light cold or something, but on the contrary, I did not go home until I was completely cured that I should not transfer it to my wife or Arthur. I used to go and check on my wife from time to time when the cold was endemic around my house, but he told me that he and Arthur were fine. But how many times would Arthur have worried that his wife wouldn’t be forced to hide from me anyway?
As I put my thoughts around that much, Clark next to me was terrified. “Speaking of which, one year after Arthur enlisted… the recruits were ill… no one answered.,” he muttered, looking at each other.
Recruits vary in their years of enlistment, but it is also routine for new recruits to be ill, especially when they are given rigorous training to join the Knight Squadron, and when they are not given a private room to go home every night or sleep in shared spaces for recruits.
But the year Arthur enlisted as a recruit last year was unnaturally short of it.
“And, Arthur… you, I’ve caught a cold or something…”
“Not once.
Arthur answers Clark’s question lightly. “I didn’t even stop worrying because I said I wouldn’t catch a cold somehow…” bites Clark grumbling about what Arthur means, but I’m not at that point.
If Arthur really is a special ability to heal the disease.
Essentially, special abilities must be touched in order for a human opponent to operate.
There were always many opportunities for Arthur, such as me and my wife, to be in contact at an early age. And while Arthur was a recruit, he started martial arts training with bare hands, which is fundamental to aligning and working with each other. I mean, if Arthur hadn’t known and continued to heal his recruit’s illness,
What a tremendous talent…
I guess Clark has the same idea, with a dead laugh but sweat on his forehead.
Injury treatment-related special abilities are also multiple and treasured in the Knights. As a knight, to fight in perfect condition at all times on the battlefield.
Except for the disease.
Injury treatment will not heal you, and if you are further invaded by the disease, instead of being inappropriate as a force of war, you may also be wiped out if there is a risk of infection unlike injury. You can’t beat a disease trying to create a body however resilient it is and sharpen its skills.
And it’s also life-threatening if you develop a disease on the way to or from a doctor’s undesirable expedition.
Therefore, the Knights are constantly deploying special abilities with excellent means of communication to prepare for anomalies and to ensure that one or more special abilities who specialize in means of movement are refrained from being present in the castle.
But Arthur solves all the problems by himself.
At an early age, I remember Arthur moaning that he was a special ability unsuitable for knights.
I wasn’t talking about unfit places. It’s harder to find a job that doesn’t require Arthur’s special abilities. If that ability were to come to terms, we would be asked for that power from all over the country.
Arthur, who served as a Knights recruit in just one year of re-examination, and further decided to join the main unit the following year, and was recognized for his strength by everyone in the knight. And a special ability to heal the disease.
Speaking of what’s most horrible, the fact is that until just two years ago, people with so much talent were buried.
If Lord Pride hadn’t been there then…
“… by the way Arthur,… how did you know that special ability…?
“Master Pride… predicted it.
Again, Master Pride?
I couldn’t stand Arthur’s words in answering Clark’s question and hit my head against the wall.
How many times does he surprise us?
Probably didn’t notice Arthur’s real special abilities in me or Clark. I could have let this terrible and wonderful talent bury me.
“… for God’s sake…
Word leaked unexpectedly.
Hear my words and raise your voice to what Arthur is.
“It’s n! This special ability is a problem…”
Anger, eagle with one hand at Arthur’s head raising his voice as he walks over to me. There would be no reason for that, he kept his mouth shut when I said it.
“Excellent… a special ability to save even for a knight. Tighten your chest.
That’s what I said and let him laugh as he stroked Arthur’s head, “… yes.” He nodded small.
“Dare I, Arthur, hide that special ability for a while in the direction of…?
Arthur nodded at Clark’s words. Sure, that’s good. The existence of Arthur’s special abilities is too powerful.
“… so that’s it. Why go back to your room?
That’s how he answers Arthur, who bows his head and turns his back on us. It was the moment I opened the door and tried to close it, saying I would excuse you.
Ah, as I recall, Arthur faces out of the gap between closing the door.
“… but if… when Father or Clark needed me… I would use it.
That’s what I left behind and they shut the door quickly.
Batan, the sound of the door sounds in my room.
“… Clark.
I call on my friends, sighing for a long time.
“Oh, my friend…. I’m in the mood for a thoughtful drink tonight too.
They got through, and then they started making plans to go to the usual tavern without saying anything to each other.
How many times has Arthur and Lord Pride surprised and delighted us?
On the way to the tavern, Clark said small and zeroed, “I’m starting to want kids, too.” I slapped him on the shoulder hard, returning that you would have told him that you were troublesome and enough for your distant sister of the year.
Best compliment from a friend, while accepting that.
