The more they oppose, the more it shows that I am doing the right thing

Chapter 340 Your Sincere Avad, Welcome Your Arrival_3

"The carriage parked at the entrance, costing 800,000 Gold Coins, whose is it?"

"Ah, it's mine," Ansu replied naturally.

Silence fell outside the door as well as inside.

Lister and Arthur stiffly turned their heads, looking at Ansu incredulously. Eight hundred thousand? Gold Coins? Could this really be earned by working?

"...It seems that the wealthy nowadays really lack manners," grumbled the envoy from the Holy City outside. "Not only parking their wealth anywhere, but also locking it up!"

What he termed as 'locking up', referred to Ansu's inheritance of the Gold Coins protected under the Chaos Correction law. Properties protected by this law were never violated; hence Ansu dared to park his wealth haphazardly.

"It's indeed small change," Ansu stated matter-of-factly. "It's even less than what I have at home."

Lister and Arthur exchanged a silent glance; a profound feeling of guilt arose within them—in that instant, it cleared!

Damn it, Ansu! Are you here to work or to rob us?

Ansu couldn't be bothered with the lamentations of the two beside him; he was more concerned with the person outside the door.

This was the first time Ansu was making contact with the Holy City.

With the annihilation of Chaotic City, a new pre-selected councilor was born; naturally, Avad had to send envoys to investigate, which was expected.

"Gentlemen," Ansu greeted with a smile always maintaining his polite demeanor, "please come in."

"Squeak—"

As the door of the cabin was pushed open, silvery moonlight spilled down like flowing water, revealing the true form of the visitor outside.

Avad's deep-seated power was indeed terrifying.

The outside of the cabin was tightly surrounded, with the dense Chaos Iron Cavalry silently standing in the back of the alley, the dark Stitched Demon Horses exhaling breaths with sparks, carrying the engraving of a skull's eye and chaotic lines—the symbol of one of Avad's three major departments, 'Chaos Administration Bureau'.

They stood as straight as a series of white tombstones in the night.

The Chaos Administration Bureau and, thirty thousand years later, Farol's Heretic Trial Bureau operated similarly, both being violent institutions that judged and monitored the citizens.

They were also both part of the Saint Army.

The only difference was that the Heretic Trial Bureau checked if the latter was sufficiently aligned with Order, while the Chaos Administration Bureau checked if the former was sufficiently chaotic.

Lister and Arthur frowned; although they were usually frivolous, when it came to critical moments, they were still reliable. These outsiders clearly bore ill intentions, likely here to rob, possibly even sent by Milton!

Even though Ansu had earned 800,000, making these two green with envy, they still couldn't let outsiders take it away.

If it were to be taken, it should be absorbed internally.

"What are you planning to do?!"

Despite this, Lister and Arthur were sweating; they were already quite debilitated from drawing too much Magic Power, and the unknown power of these uninvited guests was unfathomable.

"We are here to meet the pre-selected councilor Milton," the leading envoy stated, "on the orders of the Council."

Chilly night rain poured down on the knights' dark armor, rebounding off as white water lines, with more and more ripples springing up, an eerie and mysterious pressure overwhelming everything. Behind the Chaos Administration Bureau and in the rainy night, the silhouette of Awad Holy City was faintly visible, its narrow city gate as if sneering savagely, ready to devour all those who approached.

They were indeed Milton's lackeys.

Lister and Arthur's expression sharpened, looking worriedly at brother Su only to see his usual expression, his eyes calm.

It seemed brother Su was ready, determined to fight a battle to the death against these lackeys of Milton!

They were ignited instantly; since there was a battle to be fought, they would join the fight!

The descendants of the Moon Family and Sun Family were never cowards!

"Destroyer of Chaotic City, the Driver of Fallen Angels."

"Survivor of the Second Amendment."

"The orphan who lost his mother, the illegal heir to the 800,000 inheritance."

During the prolonged standoff, the knights of the Chaos Administration Bureau finally moved; they positioned their Demon Horses in front, and at the envoy's command, dismounted neatly, removed their helmets, bowed to the young man, and voiced in unison,

"Ansu Milton, pre-selected councilor."

"Your sincere Avad welcomes your arrival."
