The Mizukage Is Strong But Overly Cautious

Chapter 32: CHAPTER 32

In Mizuki Ryosuke's room, an unexpected person was cleaning at this moment.

"Ah!!! Woo…!"

Mizuki Lian, startled, instinctively let out a scream, her wide eyes filled with panic.

Ryosuke, still under the guise of a fisherman due to his Transformation Jutsu (Henge no Jutsu), stood frozen for a split second before realizing the danger of the situation.

In a flash, his Body Flicker Technique (Shunshin no Jutsu) propelled him behind Lian, his hand swiftly covering her mouth to silence her.

However, Mizuki Lian, caught in fear and confusion, reacted instinctively—she bit down on his hand with all her strength.

"Hiss…!"

Ryosuke inhaled sharply, wincing at the pain. At that moment, the disruption caused his Transformation Jutsu to unravel.

Poof!

A small cloud of chakra-infused smoke dissipated, revealing Ryosuke's true form.

"Ryosuke…?"

Recognition dawned in Lian's eyes. Overwhelmed, she turned and threw herself into Ryosuke's arms, seeking reassurance.

Ryosuke stiffened, unsure of where to place his hands, but instinctively wrapped them around Lian's slender waist.

At the same time, something warm trickled down from his nose.

"Ah! Ryosuke, you're bleeding!"

Lian gasped, hurriedly reaching to wipe away the nosebleed, her face flushing a deep crimson as she realized what had just transpired.

The situation fully sank in, and embarrassment took over.

"Get out now! Ryosuke, you pervert!"

Lian's voice carried both anger and mortification.

"Oh—Oh!"

Ryosuke quickly bolted from the bedroom as if escaping a battlefield.

After a while, the two sat properly in the living room, their earlier flustered expressions somewhat settled.

Lian, still feeling guilty for biting Ryosuke, carefully applied medicine to his wounded hand. Her soft fingers traced the bite mark, her gaze filled with regret.

"Does it still hurt, Ryosuke…?"

Her voice was gentle, filled with concern.

"It's fine, Sister Lian. It doesn't hurt at all."

Ryosuke waved his hand, downplaying the injury, though his heartbeat was still slightly erratic from their earlier encounter.

However, Lian suddenly remembered something and her expression turned serious.

"Ryosuke, weren't you sent on a mission?"

"Why did you return like this?"

The question snapped Ryosuke's focus back to reality. His expression hardened as he straightened his posture.

"Sister Lian, this is urgent."

"I need to see Lord Mizukage immediately."

Seeing Ryosuke's grave demeanor, Lian didn't ask further. She had known him long enough to understand that if he looked this serious, something truly important had happened.

"Alright. Father should be at the Mizukage's Office now. I'll take you there right away."

Without hesitation, Lian grabbed Ryosuke's hand and led him toward the Mizukage Building.

Mizukage Building Entrance

At the base of the Mizukage Building, an elite shinobi—one of Mizukage's trusted guards, Mizuki Kojiro—stood on duty.

As his sharp gaze scanned the street, he suddenly noticed two approaching figures. His expression tensed for a brief moment before relaxing as he recognized them.

The individuals walking toward him were none other than Mizuki Lian and Mizuki Rokka—Mizukage's beloved daughter and wife, respectively.

At once, he straightened and stepped forward to greet them.

"Lady Rokka, Lady Lian."

Kojiro bowed respectfully.

Mizuki Rokka, ever composed, gave a small nod in acknowledgment, while Lian, still holding onto her mother's arm, spoke up.

"Kojiro-san, we need to see my father immediately."

As a loyal ninja of the Mizuki Clan, Kojiro would typically require official summons for anyone seeking an audience with the Mizukage.

However, faced with the direct request of Mizukage's daughter and wife, Kojiro did not hesitate.

"Understood. Please, go ahead."

He swiftly stepped aside, clearing the path for them.

Official protocol dictated that all visitors needed formal approval before entering the Mizukage's Office.

But ignoring that rule for these two?

Kojiro was no fool—he understood which battles to pick.

With silent acknowledgment, Lian led Rokka into the Mizukage Building.

Mizukage's Office

The journey through the building was uneventful, though numerous shinobi turned their heads as the two passed.

Few had the privilege of seeing Mizuki Rokka, as the Mizukage's wife rarely made public appearances.

Yet, despite their lack of combat ability, not a single ninja dared obstruct their path.

Finally, the pair arrived at the Mizukage's Office. Without hesitation, Mizuki Lian pushed open the door and stepped inside with Rokka.

Behind a large desk, Third Mizukage—Mizuki Taki—was engrossed in paperwork. At the sound of the door opening, his gaze flickered upward.

Upon seeing his wife and daughter, his brows furrowed slightly.

He had explicitly ordered that his family refrain from visiting the Mizukage Building during work hours. This was a professional space, and their presence could disrupt official affairs.

However, just as he was about to reprimand them, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

Something was off.

Years of battle-hardened experience as Mizukage had sharpened his instincts to an unparalleled level.

And right now, those instincts screamed danger.

His wife's movements—subtly unnatural. Her presence—somehow wrong.

Mizuki Taki's expression darkened instantly.

His chakra flared, preparing to strike.

Then—

Poof!

A burst of chakra smoke erupted, and from it emerged…

Mizuki Ryosuke.

The tension in the room spiked.

Mizuki Taki's sharp gaze locked onto Ryosuke, his voice cold and commanding.

"…Explain yourself. Now."
