The Martial Unity

Chapter 2844  Fear

Chapter 2844  Fear

BADUMP

Chills crawled across the skin of the Demon of Asmodeous.

Tears welled up in Bodhisattva Maitreyi's eyes.

In that moment, they sensed it. They sensed the spark of life within the corpse of Amare.

They sensed the spark of life within her being.

BADUMP

It began beating as Rui accomplished the impossible.

He undid death.

He restored life.

BADUMP

With each passing second, Amare's complexion returned.

With each passing second, her skin grew more lively.

With each passing second, her body regained the very luster of life that she had lost several minutes after her death.

With each passing second, she had returned to life.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook.

It shook violently.

Fearful. It shook as heaven and earth watched with horror.

It shook as Gaia watched with awe.

It shook as Rui violated one of the most fundamental laws of nature.

Death was absolute.

"Nothing…" the blood-red Suns in his eyes flared with godly power. "Nothing is absolute before me."

In the Sage Realm, Rui had become a force unto himself.

He felt all-powerful.

Omnipotent.

Nothing was beyond his power.

Nothing was beyond his ability.

Not even Death.

RUMBLE!!!!!

With each passing second, he restored life.

He restored life to countless cells.

He protected their life.

He nurtured it.

Until he restored life to the entire system, he could not simply let them go after bringing them back to life. Without the entire system functioning perfectly well, the cells would die again once more.

He supplied them with oxygen and the necessary chemical compounds needed for life, taking over the job of the circulatory system. Simultaneously, he sealed her wound and created artificial blood vessel paths for the blood to start flowing once more.

"I will allow her to naturally heal the wound with guided regeneration."

An overwhelming majority of the cells in her body have already returned to life by this time, while he also took care of all the non-cellular biology and organic matter of the human body bit by bit.

And then, it was time. It was time for the single most difficult part.

The single most extraordinarily impossible part of the heresy of trying to resurrect the dead.

"The brain."

The mind.

The soul.

The most important part of a person.

The organ that housed their very consciousness.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world quaked as Rui pushed himself to his absolute limits.

His body strained.

It strained with the sheer effort he put into the extraordinary miracle that he had conjured.

His muscles groaned.

His skin began tearing.

His bones creaked.

And yet, he didn't stop.

RUMBLE!!!!!

His eyes blazed with unfathomable will.

Unfathomable determination.

Unfathomable power.

He redirected much of the Womb of Rebirth towards the brain. He had left the organ for the last because it was the most important and the most difficult. He simultaneously began tapping into the large soul model, the existential blueprint from the Angel of Laplace, and all the data of the existing neuron connections.

It was not an exaggeration to say that they served as the blueprint of her very identity.

Neuron plasticity was the essence of identity.

BADUMP

Her heart beat as Rui accessed the very depths of her brain and began restoring neuron after neuron.

One by one.

One by one out of eighty-six billion neurons.

From the perspective of a normal human, it would have occurred at an extraordinary speed.

But from Rui's perspective, he fixed her neurons one at a time, in the span of a nanosecond.

From his perspective, it took years.

Decades.

Decades just restoring neuron after neuron.

A maddening task.

One that would have eroded the sanity of any normal human being.

And yet, he persevered.

He persevered.

Never once fretting.

Never once losing his composure.

Ever since he had discovered Enlightenment of Self, he had obtained tranquility.

Peace.

Harmony.

His mind experienced all the emotions of a sapient being.

And his soul was calm.

Even as two of the most powerful Martial Sages fought with boundless ferocity.

He never once lost sight of his goal.

Even as the world was bathed in the glory of his godly Martial Embodiment.

He never once lost track of his task.

He dedicated the sum totality of everything he had to offer to the woman he loved from the depths of his heart.

The three massive datasets he had on her very existence allowed him to restore every single cell to exactly the way was in her body. It allowed him to restore every single molecule to exactly the way it had been at the moment of her death. It allowed him to weave together a tapestry.

A tapestry of the soul of Amare.

Even as he wove together her mind, consciousness, and her soul, he couldn't help but smile.

He couldn't help but smile at the countless memories he had of her.

He couldn't help but smile as he recalled her warm brightness.

Her beautiful Martial Art.

Her beautiful Martial power.

Her beautiful philosophy.

Her wisdom and her naievete.

Her strengths and weaknesses.

Her body and her soul.

Her long brown hair. Her bright amber eyes. Her supple bronze skin.

Everything.

He loved everything about her. And he would never change even the slightest bit about her.

And he didn't.

He restored her to exactly the way she had been.

Neuron by neuron.

All eighty-six billion of them.

And soon enough, the moment came.

The moment of truth.

The moment of revelation.

The moment where every single cell in her body had been restored.

Every single piece of the puzzle of Amare had been restored.

Her life bloomed.

It bloomed like the coming of Spring.

The extraordinary machine of the human life had been reborn.

Cell by cell.

Molecule by molecule

He had pieced back her very life.

Her brain surged with activity as neurons began firing after Rui returned them to their exactly the way they had been before. Exactly the way they would be. He could sense her mind.

Her soul.

Her consciousness.

And yet, he froze.

He froze as he felt her emotions.

He froze as he felt her fear.

More fear than he had ever felt.
