After a surprising breakfast, Sete, Ethan and Bianca prepared to leave in search of supplies. The three of them put on dark clothes — black or gray — to better camouflage themselves on the streets of Ousbury.

Thomas and Kai would remain in the bunker, monitoring the security cameras and waiting to offer some support if necessary.

— Ready? — Ethan asked as he finished adjusting the large rucksack on his back, which was practically empty so that he could carry more supplies. The girls were carrying two large bags in the same situation.

— Hm. — Sete agreed, counting the orange seeds she had obtained from the fruit they had eaten for breakfast. In total, there were thirteen seeds. Enough to deal with any emergency. — Don't forget to water the plants.

Suddenly, Kai ran up and jumped into Sete's arms, hugging her. Unaccustomed to this kind of action, it took her a few seconds to realize what was happening, but she soon wrapped her arms a little clumsily around the boy.

— Come back soon, Sete… — Kai murmured, his voice a little slurred; the attack by the servants of the End had probably left some psychological shadows on him.

Spring couldn't see the boy's face, only the top of his head with its tousled black hair. So she lifted one of her hands and hesitantly stroked the dark strands.

— Of course… — Sete replied softly, a hint of a smile at the corner of her pink lips.

After a few minutes of walking, the first creatures of Chaos began to appear in the path of the three of them. Overall, they were able to successfully hide, change course and dodge the monsters. Their success was mainly down to Ethan, who had lived in Ousbury the longest and survived by scavenging supplies from abandoned buildings.

Now, they were hiding in an alley, next to a large dilapidated shopping center, where they intended to enter to search the supermarket and pharmacy.

Sete held Ethan and Bianca's wrists as they squeezed against the wall of the alleyway, holding their breath so that the mutant hyena rummaging through a pile of garbage outside wouldn't notice them.

Suddenly, the yelp of another canid beast attracted the attention of the huge animal, which quickly moved away.

— Let's go. — Ethan whispered, letting out a breath and pointing to a nearby fire escape.

They began to climb, the sound of their footsteps echoing against the iron stairs, which caused worrying creaks.

As they reached the top of the stairs, Ethan ducked alarmed, pulling Bianca with him. Sete peeked over the roof of the building and noticed two winged Chaos creatures perched on the ledge opposite their position, both birds with their backs to them.

Immediately, Spring pulled two orange seeds from the pocket of her camouflage jacket. Gathering a fraction of her powers in the palm of her hand and then around the seeds, she caused the plants to sprout. However, instead of becoming orange trees, the growing branches and roots twisted around themselves. The result was two massive spears, whose organic stem shape — along with some orange leaves and flowers that were born there — was enchanting.

Ethan and Bianca looked at Sete in doubt.

— Target practice. — She whispered with a smile, the same sweet smile that made Thomas freeze.

Now they understood the boy's strange reactions.
