Chapter 42: Improvements
After dinner, Punya left hurriedly to the clan hall to look at the logistics and how much money and resources they had left in the clan. It is not possible to liquefy their assets fast enough and selling one or two shops was possible but that much was nowhere near enough to provide for the clan. Burrowing was out of the question, pooling resources from the elders was also not feasible. The only option required was bartering the resources not needed for the clan and increasing manpower on the Bareback mountains. Although it requires luck, with more people, the resources they can find will increase. Keshab also left to upgrade various arrays in the clan. Who knows if even a little improvement may change the outcome one day? He had to strengthen the defense of the clan first and then gradually add killing power and improve the remaining arrays in important places. He had been doing this for a week but he was sidetracked to make the location of the inheritance look more authentic.
Kumari was also busy refining the pills for a whole week. The Rijal clan didn't have top-tier alchemist previously but they had a collection of many precious herbs. Some of the herbs were leftovers from when the clan was founded. Some of the herbs were planted in the field for over a century. So for top-tier herbs, although they were not in great quantities, there were many varieties available. And as she had refined for a week by only taking a minimal break, her improvement was significant. She was able to refine a few top-quality pills. Although they had barely touched the ceiling of top-quality pills, their efficacy was way higher than high-quality pills. The difference between 80% purity and 81% percent purity was not that of one percent, the efficacy would increase by more than twenty percent otherwise there would be no demand for alchemists who can refine higher quality pills.
As for Radha, she had made great progress in her battle power. Although her power didn't increase much with the spirit halberd technique due to the lack of a good weapon, she incorporated her proficiency in the halberd technique into the strongest martial technique in the Rijal Clan, the Black Earth sword skill. Even Punya hadn't been successful in this department but Radha had increased her battle power further. She was now the strongest member of the Rijal clan. Yes, strongest because although Keshab was half core formation realm cultivator his strength lay in array, management, and cautiousness, in the direct battle he was a little bit stronger than average cultivators. He was a genius in his own field. But, Radha was a pure battle cultivator and she could easily defeat opponents from the higher cultivation realm.
Even if Punya, a battle cultivator of the higher realm went all out, he wouldn't be able to defeat her or even force her into a stalemate. She was just that strong. As Radha went to the training hall, Amrit was left all alone but he didn't mind it. In fact, he had found his goal so he was going to cultivate harder than before. He had trained his techniques for a week and had made tremendous improvement and now it will take more time to make a significant improvement. So he had decided to cultivate and break through the thirteenth stage and then to the foundation building realm. After reaching the foundation building realm, he believed that more secrets from his legacy would be revealed and his strength would increase by leaps and bounds. So his main focus in the upcoming days will be to improve his cultivation realm.
He had just broken through the twelfth stage of the Qi sensing realm but he had a realization earlier that pushed his cultivation towards the thirteenth stage. So although it will take time, it wouldn't take much time to break through. He had already stabilized his realm so the only thing left to do was to cultivate. He stood up from the chair and walked towards his room. In this house, Keshab had added the top-tier spirit energy gathering array everywhere, even in the kitchen and waiting room. It could be activated with a lift of a hand just like a lightbulb. Amrit went up the stairs and into his room. He had not added anything to this room. It was just a plain, simple room with an herb pot on the table for soothing his mind. He put a rug used for cultivation in the middle of the room. The room was spacious and only contained a bed and table with a wardrobe in the corner so most of the space was empty.
Many cultivators used small rugs for cultivation. Although it was not needed, it became a habit passed down from previous generations. In bigger clans, those rugs were made from precious minerals and spirit plants made into thread and then woven in a square shape with lengths of one to two meters. The woven rug is then inlaid with various arrays like spirit gathering array, spirit energy calming array, noise canceling array, soul calming array, and so on. Although the soul calming array is a high-grade array that required many rare materials, some of the bigger clans and sects had those rugs. The function of the soul calming array was to prevent having unnecessary thoughts that leads to Qi deviation. This was only a luxury for high-tier forces.
As for small kingdoms like the Emerald kingdom and even smaller clans like the Rijal clan, the cultivation rugs were made from spirit plants and some precious minerals in some cases. Most of the clan members used rugs made with spirit plants and had spirit energy calming array as there was no point in adding the spirit energy gathering array as there wasn't much concentration of spirit energy outside their city to begin with and without storage ring, bringing the rug everywhere they went would be a hassle. As for inside the clan, there was no need for a spirit energy gathering array in rugs as this array already enveloped the clan area. And the materials available to most of the clan members were ordinary so they couldn't handle more engraving of arrays.
