Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Aspiring to Reach the Heavens.
"Good to see you, sister-in-law!"
Inside the room, Hyuga Hiashi and Hyuga Hizashi bowed in unison to Pakura.
Even though this woman was merely brought back by Hitoshi during the war and had not been formally announced as his wife, the brothers did not dare to take her lightly.
After all, those close to Hyuga Hitoshi knew the true nature of her relationship with the Patriarch. The wedding was simply a matter of the woman's indifference, not Hitoshi's reluctance to offer.
Of course, it was suspected that someone was attempting to establish a harem, and Hyuga Pakura understood she couldn't control this man, so she let it be.
Having no choice but to accept the handsome man's life-saving grace, Pakura willingly offered herself.
From initial reluctance to now a natural habit, her mindset had undergone a significant change.
Well, perhaps she was also moved by the man's solemn vows.
He had promised to make Rasa and the higher-ups of Sunagakure Village pay.
"Where's Neji?"
Hyuga Hizashi valued his son greatly, usually taking him along within the clan. Noticing Hizashi's empty arms, Hyuga Hitoshi casually inquired.
"Uh, he just peed all over me, so I sent him home."
Hyuga Hizashi said awkwardly.
Perhaps Neji couldn't hold it any longer while waiting for the Patriarch.
"So it truly a case of 'like father, like son.'"
Hyuga Hitoshi generously praised, though it seemed the manner of praise wasn't quite right, causing both brothers and Yecang to shake their heads.
Oh well.
It doesn't matter.
As the right-hand men of the Patriarch, they had long known that Hyuga Hitoshi's thought processes were different from ordinary people's.
Ordinary people wouldn't question why, if the Gentle Fist technique is about striking chakra points, one wouldn't just see the points and smash them with chakra instead of gently tapping them?
Considering the lack of strength to support this method, he specifically studied the ninja Taijutsu of Senju Hashirama and Senju Tobirama, and passed down a technique known as the Hyuga-style Crushing Fist.
He even said that one day the Hyuga would be able to use Genjutsu with the Byakugan, which is practically stealing the Uchiha's advantage.
Besides, things like optimizing chakra refinement methods, and a beggar's version of Sage Mode for safely absorbing natural energy, are enough to prove that their Patriarch is a true genius.
And a genius, surely Neji peeing all over Hizashi is no mistake, it's just 'like father, like son'!
"Cough, Patriarch, the matter you entrusted us with last time has made progress."
Hiashi had serious matters to attend to, not letting his brother make excuses for why he peed on their dad back then, but instead bringing up the important issue.
However, after speaking, he glanced at his sister-in-law.
The implication was clear; when the Patriarch assigned this task, he used the word 'confidential' and even mentioned that it concerned the survival of the Hyuga clan. He was uncertain about how important the sister-in-law was in the Patriarch's heart and whether he should mention it in her presence.
"There are no outsiders here."
Patriarch Hitoshi spoke leisurely, clearly not treating Pakura merely as a friend with benefits. This matched the rumors in the village; he wasn't fickle, his heart was just shattered into tens of thousands of pieces.
He just wanted to give the girl a home, what's wrong with that?
But Hyuga Hitoshi might not care.
Pakura, however, was a sensible woman.
She glanced at Hitoshi, stood up, and even though she was touched by Hitoshi's disregard for appearances, she didn't show it on her face.
"Tired, I'm off."
She waved her hand and left, the Hokage's number one beauty making a very cool exit.
"Your sister-in-law is a tsundere, don't mind her."
Hitoshi said with a chuckle.
Hiashi and Hizashi, the two brothers, pretended not to hear. After all, a sister-in-law is a sister-in-law. The Hyuga clan has strict rules and etiquette must be observed. The Patriarch can joke, but they cannot.
"Patriarch, after you assigned the task, we dispatched the elite of our clan to investigate all suspicious and hidden caves within the Land of Fire. After several checks, only one matches your description."
Hyuga Hiashi spoke earnestly, handing over the intelligence he had.
"I've said to call me Hitoshi in private."
Hyuga Hitoshi took the intelligence, looked at the marked location on the map, and casually instructed.
"Etiquette must not be abandoned."
Hyuga Hiashi shook his head.
He had his own principles, especially since the man before him deserved this respect.
In fact, even though Patriarch Hitoshi had stopped the continuous use of the Caged Bird Curse Mark, the main house was still the main house, and the branch house remained the branch house. Once this was established, familial affection had to be set aside, and the only roles were Patriarch and subordinate.
After all, the Hyuga clan has come a long way, with intermarriage within the clan. Don't even start on who's related to whom; do you believe if you throw a brick outside, you could hit a bunch of Hiashi's brothers and sisters?
If you think about it, his wife is also his...
"Let's not dwell on it; saying too much might not pass review."
"According to the clan member's description, that cave is extremely peculiar. Once inside, it's as if one is trapped in a Genjutsu, continuously draining the intruder's chakra."
"What's more bizarre is that when one's chakra is exhausted, they wake up to find themselves transported far outside the cave, even forgetting they had ever been there. If it weren't for the exploration team's policy of three-person groups, and Hyuga Nishiyama's quick thinking to not rush in blindly, we might never have discovered this."
Returning to the matter at hand, Hyuga Hiashi also found the place quite eerie, having gone to see it for himself. The description matched the intelligence exactly, which is why he returned to report.
But as things stand, he still can't connect that cave to the future of the Hyuga clan.
"It seems we've found the right place."
Putting away the intelligence, Hyuga Hitoshi fell into deep thought.
Without a doubt, what he had his clan members search for was the passage to the moon!
His declaration of preparing two paths for the Hyuga wasn't just empty talk.
On one hand, he's assessing whether this village can be saved, whether the clan should remain in Konohagakure, refusing to be an obedient dog, ready to flip the table and break the Third Hokage's teeth to take his place.
On the other hand, he's searching for a safe haven, a place for stable development, to give himself and the Hyuga clan enough time to grow. Once his three-year term is up, and Hyuga Hitoshi is strong enough to disregard all, he'll establish a vast empire truly belonging to the Hyuga.
Currently, he's pursuing both paths.
And there's been a significant breakthrough on the second path.
That hidden cave leads to the moon above. Is there any place safer than that in the world?
Based on the timeline, when Otsutsuki Toneri was a child, his father brought him to Earth to glimpse Hinata from afar.
Back then, the branch family on the moon had already decimated the main house, leaving only Otsutsuki Toneri and his father.
Now, with the Nine-Tails disturbance just over, the situation on the moon remains to be seen firsthand.
Regardless, the descendants of Otsutsuki Hamura, the ancestors of the Hyuga clan, what right do they have to monopolize the moon for so long?
It's only reasonable for ancestors to make way for their descendants, then to rest in peace with a smile. Surely the Otsutsuki clan would be relieved to learn this and willingly meet their end?
With the intelligence in hand, Hyuga Hitoshi's understanding of the Hyuga clan's future became clear in an instant.
Standing up and pointing to the sky, Hitoshi declared with boundless pride.
"The Hyuga shall stand above, in the heavens!"
