How they all become chunin is beyond Yumiko's knowledge
well not exactly, she knew her team did well in the exams, but none of them lasted till the final round
Seiza lasted for three more rounds until he was beaten down by a kumo ninja; luckily, he managed to forfeit before being stabbed to death.
as for Yumiko, she gave up the next match after seeing the fellow ninja's strength beforehand, he was also a cloud ninja, and his speed was at another level. she knew she was no match for him
thus she didn't bother to try her luck, and instead forfeited before the match began
What mattered was that they didn't fail miserably as she thought first
She must admit, Iwa was very generous because half of the examiners who reached the third stage were qualified
Yumiko was happy for being a chunin on her first try
because who wouldn't? It wasn't common to be a chunin at young age unless you were a strong individual or had good leadership
Anyhow, the exam itself wasn't particularly hard for team Hayate, nor was it remarkable; it didn't even involve many significant characters from the show, and it ended just like that.
After announcing the winner of the chunin exams, Yumiko and her teammates went to an inn and spent the rest of the day resting, only to return to Konoha the next day
Hayate asked them to come tomorrow to their usual training ground in order to discuss some matters
and then each one of them returned to their home
Yumiko went straight to shower after preparing clean clothes to wear
she no longer wears kimonos or Hakamas as she became bored of them, and they made her slightly uncomfortable.
After finishing cleaning her dirty self, she went to sleep, well it was more like dropped dead
after all, the chunin exam did a tole on her routine.
Most of the time, she was occupied with training, which made her physically and mentally exhausted.
Though the result was worth all the pain she suffered
Because who can become a chunin at nine years old? Unless you are a prodigy.
The next day came and Yumiko went to the training ground at nine to see all her teammates and sensei waiting for her
The first thing that Yumiko remarked were Seiza and Natsuki wearing their chunin vest proudly which made her smile slightly
"good morning"
The trio nodded at her returning her greeting before turning their full attention to Hayate who started speaking seriously
"Firstly, I am proud of you three for becoming chunin" he shifted his gaze to yumiko "Especially you Yumiko, becoming a chunin at such a young age makes you a prodigy among your pairs" she nodded at him while matching his seriousness, it would be a lie if she said she didn't feel fluttered
"All the training you three endured has thrown its results, but that's only the beginning for you as your missions will become harder, and you'll have to ensure not only your safety but also the safety of your teammates as the leader and part of the squad.
Remember that becoming a chunin has given you a great responsibilities, and you better take it seriously"
Whenever Hayate talked to his students about serious matters, he looked at each one of them while studying their faces who were, to his relief, serious and determined after nodding at him
He coughed in his palm before finishing his speech
"if the Hokage deems you as worthy, he will ask you to join the ANBU if not, don't be discouraged and slack off, instead continue to train harder!"
"yes sensei!" the three of them answered at the same time
Hayate had a small smile on his face because of his beloved students
Although they weren't that close, he still liked them and was very proud of them
"from now on team Hayate is disbanded!"
silence folded after hearing his last announcement
Yumiko blinked in surprise 'thinking about it, chunin work alone or in joint missions, so obviously our team would be automatically disbanded, moreover that doesn't mean we can't form a team with our former teammates'
Seiza sighed dramatically while Natsuki tried to reassure him on her own way
"We still can do some joint mission together, so don't be so dramatic Seiza" she sighed at his antics.
After they finished discussing, they bid goodbye and bowed to their sensei, showing him their endless gratitude.
Each one of them went to do their own business after the team was disbanded
as for Yumiko, she went straight to the library while smirking, if someone saw her, they would definitely think she is plotting for something bad.
'finally I can have access to B-rank jutsus! Being a chunin has its benefits for sure and this is one of them' her smirk soon turned into a wide grin
'well I still have to learn fuinjutsu, being an Uzumaki would certainly help, but first I'll see what they have in store' she calmed her excited self and started forming training plans
'if am not wrong shadow clones do store memories, that will help me a lot in learning fuinjutsu and maybe even jutsus'
reaching the library, Yumiko quickly went for the B section and started searching for wind jutsu and to her utter disappointment she only found four wind jutsus
'wind chakra nature isn't common in Konoha, it's excepted to not have many wind jutsus but I can tell it's not the same case with fire jutsus, who is thankfully my second nature'
After reading a little about the wind jutsus that she found it interesting, she looked for the fire jutsus, and boy how many they had
Yumiko's eyes twitched in annoyance as she thought bitterly 'If only they had the same jutsus Danzo used against Sasuke, it seems like they were all A-rank and above,' she sighed in defeat 'as expected from a council elder... I can only access to B-rank jutsus for now; I still can ask someone to teach me A-rank though...'
'Anyway, I will now see the fuinjutsu they have'
That's how Yumiko's day passed, trying to memorize as much as she could of jutsus and their hand seals
she wasn't Sakura, though; that girl had a photographic memory at another level, so Yumiko ended up memorizing one fire and one wind jutsu
as for fuinjutsu, she only took a look since she still hadn't learned its basics and it would be foolish of her to start with a complicated seals.
she only went out of the library in mid-afternoon.
While walking in the street, yumiko's eyes caught Kakashi's silver hair. she spotted him looking at the displayed books outside the library with great interest.
she smiled smugly
although it was unlike her. She couldn't help herself from being excited to see the look on Kakashi's face, when he discovers she had been qualified to chunin; yumiko hoped that the news hadn't reached him yet.
walking to him, she tapped his jōnin vest
Turning around, Kakashi locked gaze with her and saw the smug smile
It made him raise his eyebrow in question, but after looking down at the chunin vest he understood the reason why
He was slightly surprised. 'Impressive, becoming a chunin at such a young age... well I didn't expected her to, still...' he sighed 'it seems like she is indeed a prodigy'
"why hello yumiko-chan, I see you've passed the chunin exams, congratulations on passing it on your first try," he said with his usual eye smile before patting her head.
she wasn't pleased with his response though
Because nothing had changed in his facial expression, except the slight surprise that didn't last a second in his eye
"thank you kakashi-sensei..." she said before smirking "oh by the way I was just scrolling in the library moments ago searching for B-rank jutsus. I must say, being a chunin is quite cool if you ask me" she said casually
Kakashi sweat dropped at her greedy nature towards jutsus, it seemed like she was targeting him since she called him sensei
"I see..."
Seeing him have his full attention on her without his perverted book, Yumiko took the chance to ask him about the shadow clone jutsu
"can you help me in learning the shadow clone jutsu? I stumbled upon this jutsu in a book written by the second Hokage, but it doesn't show how to do it in detail though"
Kakashi rubbed his chin thoughtfully before answering "Well that's normal since it's listed with the forbidden jutsus, but I don't see why not teach it to you, but don't overuse it as it takes so much chakra"
'well her chakra is quite large for unknown reasons...' kakashi thought
Yumiko sighed in relief 'thank god he didn't refuse' she smiled 'now learning fuinjutsu won't be a hassle'
"meet me at training ground seven"
"sure" Yumiko replayed before Kakashi flickered, she sighed and then started walking to the famous training ground seven while in deep thought
'that remind me, team seven hasn't formed yet and about three years from now the plot will begin...
There won't be any changes I guess, unless Naruto, Kiba, Shikamaru, and Choji listened to my advice that day
but with remembering their faces makes me think there is no way they didn't try the tree walking' she chuckled
'or at least they pestered Iruka to teach them...that alone is a change, for the better... I think' she sighed tiredly
