The Hero In The Military academy Suit

CH 18 - A Noble Flower in My Clumsy Writing

Chapter 18

(Part10)A Noble Flower in My Clumsy Writing

[Hunting Time] Level 3.

The final stage of the ability is activated.

The moment I was hit, a sense of exhilaration surged through my body again.

My physical abilities, experience, and mastery of my powers are all lacking compared to my opponent, but the moment I reached Level 3, I became certain that if I could hold on, an opportunity would come.

I got back up.

A single hit that made my skull throb.

I steadied myself and turned my gaze to Ludwig, who was clashing with Instructor Guyeong.

He was holding up surprisingly well.

Each blow, while threatening, was being deflected at an angle, maintaining a safe distance.

Not only was his ability far beyond the other trainees, but his physical prowess was clearly on another level too.

I immediately charged forward.

As I reached the outer range of their clash, I thrust my spear with both hands.

Whoosh―!

The spear tip sliced through the air, cutting a few strands of the instructor’s hair as he pulled back.

I swung the spear to the right.

The instructor’s waist bent backwards, and the spear tip once again sliced through the air. Then, like a spring, his fist shot upward.

With a dull thud, I was knocked back, shield and all.

“How much longer?”

“What?”

“Full Moon’s Call!”

“How the hell do you… Ugh! 10 minutes! 10 minutes!”

“Seriously, damn it, this is killing me!”

[“beauty” and” flower”-Style Martial Art – Invisible Slash]

I guess the cooldown had finished because that damn foot was multiplying again.

‘Can I hold on?’

I didn’t have a power suited for defence.

I had no front lines to use as meat shields.

All I could do was take the hits and hope I could stand.

‘It’s Level 3 of Hunting Time.

I can hold on.

I have to hold on.’

At this point, it was fight or die.

I couldn’t give up, even if I wanted to.

It’s not like I’m the kind of main character who has a solution for every problem that pops up, figuring things out like in the web novels.

Instead, I had to struggle, analyze, and endure to win.

BOOM!

An enormous shockwave hit my shield.

How was this a random extra’s power?

It felt like I’d just swallowed a bowl of sweet potatoes!

The dizziness swept through my head, and my whole body felt like a ragged cloth.

But I held on.

I didn’t fall, I didn’t lose my weapon, and I didn’t faint.

I didn’t have the talent, skills, or combat ability of a protagonist.

My only advantage was the body I had taken over.

So I just endured through sheer force.

“AAARGH!”

I threw my spear.

All those techniques I’d learned, like javelin throwing and spearing, didn’t help when a fist was coming at me in real combat.

I just threw the spear as recklessly as possible, then pushed away and struck.

THUD!

Guyeong’s foot hit my temple.

I was slammed into the ground and rolled like five times in a row.

‘At least I landed a hit.’

I looked toward Guyeong’s side.

Just before his foot cracked my skull, I had managed to jab my spear into his side.

My body moved reflexively, guided by my skill’s vision.

‘Was there no way to stab before getting hit?’

I cursed at myself, spat blood, and got back on my feet.

During the fight, [Eyes of Capture] finally showed me an effective hit on an opponent’s weak spot.

It was an ability that helped identify fatal weaknesses, and it worked best when fighting slightly stronger opponents.

Now I could do this.

“I’ve gotten stronger.”

“…”

Guyeong just growled like a beast.

Muttering in front of someone who had lost their reason was pointless, but I raised my voice anyway.

“I get stronger over time.”

This was more of a mantra to me than anything like the roar of a Black Flame Dragon.

If I didn’t chant this, I felt like I’d lose my mind from the pain.

Guyeong’s body blurred and faded like it was being pixelated, and then only one place remained, glowing white, focusing on it.

[Eyes of Capture]

This ability didn’t show static weaknesses, but instead detected openings and vulnerabilities in real-time during a fight.

I smoothly blocked his erratic swings with my spear, then jabbed at his thigh.

The movement of my spear, rising from his ankle, was as smooth as a snake.

“AAARGH!”

A successful hit.

It was hard to believe that a trainee who had just finished 3 weeks of training could deliver such a sharp strike.

It made sense though.

As the [Hunting Time] stacks increased, the difference between my movements, which had been ingrained in him, and my current ones was massive.

The confusion from that gap.

I kicked Guyeong’s opposite ankle.

As he walked unsteadily and fell, I shoved the remaining javelin into his face.

THUD!

Guyeong crossed his arms in defence instinctively, but he couldn’t stop his head from hitting the ground.

This was the chance.

I was ready to finish him off when suddenly.

‘Huh?’

Like I was about to faint, my vision turned yellow and my body lost strength.

The stamina I’d been holding on with sheer willpower finally reached its limit.

‘Damn it. If I had just a little more energy…’

Taking advantage of the brief moment, the instructor rolled to the side and pulled the spear out of his thigh.

Even though his whole body was covered in wounds and his legs were practically useless, he was still moving.

That was impressive.

“Ludwig! Are you ready yet!”

Isn’t 10 minutes enough?

I’m going to die at this rate!

Just perfect timing.

Guyeong was growling as he came closer, and thick clouds were forming above me.

[Full Moon’s Call] had been cast.

At the same time, the shadow created by the clouds divided the kingdom of power both inside and outside.

Naturally, [Shadow Walking] was activated.

I reflexively threw myself into the air.

“Get out of here!”

Just then, Ludwig’s shout reached my ears.

Even though I was about to have my kill stolen by the little brat, my objective was achieved.

As soon as I dove toward the ground, his chant was finished.

“Gavit laughed (Disappear with the light.)”

[Full Moon’s Call]

Dozens of beams of light shot up into the sky, then came crashing down like lasers, covering the entire world in a blinding light.

I woke up to a strange ceiling.

When I opened my eyes again, it was accompanied by excruciating pain.

“Ugh, damn, this sucks. Wait, am I dead already?”

“Russell!”

I heard a familiar voice and struggled to sit up.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m… kinda. What is this place?”

“This is the infirmary.”

“Why was I brought here?”

“Well…”

Cory hesitated, glancing behind her.

I saw Ludwig sitting there, cross-legged, looking away.

“I heard you got caught up in Ludwig’s last attack…”

“What? I was definitely out of the range.”

“You were a little over.”

“What the hell? How could you team-kill? You’re such a troll.”

At my complaint, Ludwig muttered under his breath, sounding displeased.

“It’s not my fault the range was out of my control.”

“No ‘sorry’ even though you nearly killed me, huh?”

“Tch. Well, it could’ve been worse if it wasn’t for me.”

“Don’t ‘tch’ at me. Are you a prickly heroine or something?”

“Why do you always say stuff I don’t understand…”

I waved my hand dismissively.

“So, what happened?”

Cory eagerly continued explaining.

The instructor, Gu-Yeong, who took Ludwig’s hit, had his armour destroyed and became unable to fight.

Then, the medics rushed in and handled the three of us.

Afterwards, Instructor Alexa strongly protested.

Gu-yeong was expelled from the training centre.

It was an inevitable result after the incident.

Anyway, this was the first time in the history of the Gymrow training centre that a trainee had won a match against an instructor.

While I was unconscious for the day, the whole place was buzzing about it.

The evaluation didn’t even matter—everyone knew what had happened.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror, noticing my battered face.

Then, my left eye started to glow green, and [Perception] activated.

Combat Stats: 151

Not much had changed, but my combat stat had risen to 151.

The increased weapon skill and battle experience seemed to have paid off.

“Hmm, not a bad outcome.”

“Is that all you have to say? You are… what’s wrong with you?”

“What about the commander? He couldn’t just escape responsibility after this, right?”

“Ugh, that guy’s got some nerve. He just acted like it was an accident during training, and said he was waiting so the trainees could experience a ‘breakthrough’ without interference.”

“Breakthrough my ass. Should I break his balls instead?”

My crude words made Cory and Asher burst out laughing.

Even Ludwig couldn’t hold in his chuckle.

In reality, what Conrad did went too far.

While he’s always been an annoying character in the story who torments the protagonist, he wasn’t someone who would cause chaos this early on.

I activated [Developer’s Notes] to check for any new updates.

There was nothing.

The reason Conrad was acting out was not due to any changed settings.

It all came down to me.

The reason he lost his mind and started causing trouble was because I, the irregular, came in with the recommendation from Biltred, and the characters were reacting to that, changing the storyline.

His sense of superiority over Biltred, coupled with his jealousy, had caused him to lose his mind.

“This won’t end like this…”

A cornered beast doesn’t just give up its last bit of territory easily.

He’d probably do something worse soon.

At least, before I graduate, there would be at least one or two off-scenario events, so I had to be prepared.

“Anyway, it’s Saturday, huh…”

I looked at the three kids and grinned.

“Big accident today, so how about a little after-party?”

“Huh?”

“Let’s go to PX. I’m treating.”

I cheerfully declared, tossing off my clothes and changing into my casual uniform.

“Change your underwear somewhere not so obvious!”

“Why are you making such a fuss? Just wait a sec.”

Cory frowned, but his face was glowing with high-born elegance.

Come to think of it, this guy’s a rich kid, huh?

“You’re from a rich family, aren’t you?”

“Huh?”

“You go.”

“What, what do you mean?”

“What do you think? The after-party food, of course. Hey, Ludwig, you’re coming too, right?”

“No. Why would I go?”

The rejection came back sharp as a knife, and I grabbed both of Ludwig’s armpits and lifted him roughly.

“What are you doing!”

“Shut up and follow me. Didn’t you see what we did? We’re pretty useful, you gotta admit that, right?”

“…”

“Don’t agree?”

“As time passed, your movements somehow got better. It’s disturbing.”

“It’s a kind of power. This power is OP as hell.”

“Hmph. Even without that power, I could easily beat you with just martial arts.”

“Oh? Really? Let’s bet on it later. How about the loser has to take off their underwear and run around the training ground?”

“I don’t want to play along with your low-class jokes.”

“That’s not my problem. Let’s go to the after-party. You probably have something you want to ask me, right?”

“…”

Ludwig stared at me with a look full of things to say.

The guy with zero social skills probably didn’t stay by my side because he cared about me waking up or out of good fellowship.

It was because he knew I was aware of his true identity.

And he probably wanted to interrogate me about knowing his power too.

“If you keep being difficult, there’s nothing for you here, kid.”

At my words, his expression twisted, but he followed along pretty obediently.

“We agreed not to call me ‘kid’.”
