Chapter 6.1 No More Foolishness (1)
A small awkwardness appeared within his heart, he turned his gaze to his opposite side because he could feel the Emperor's gaze full of worries about his son.
"How did this happen?" His worry only appeared briefly as the Emperor soon regained his dignity.
He now asked for the whole story.
Raymond tried to hide his nervous look and swallowed his dry saliva.
He can't reveal about the "Spear of sacrifice" yet, so he has to answer well here.
He needed to use his brain to the maximum in order to come up with a plausible lie.
"While being inside the imperial chamber no.7, I found a book that says how to release mana. I got interested in it, so I tried it while reading.”
"So what happened after?" asked the Emperor. His voice was filled with curiosity.
He seemed to have erased a lot of his worries because the healer sent a signal from the side saying that Raymond's condition was okay.
"I was able to release my mana."
"Really?"
The Emperor was surprised. The Imperial Knights, who were standing nearby them, also had their eyes opened wide.
‘The Fifth Prince, famous for being an asshole, has finally released his mana?'
This was a suitable lie, and there was no way they would find the actual truth.
With everyone looking at the Fifth Prince with astonishment, only the Imperial guards remained unwavering.
"Yes, His Majesty. In what kind of situation should I lie about?"
"I believe in you."
"Your Majesty, the Minister must have already known that you are absent."
“It’s time to go now?"
This was the conversation between the confidant and the Emperor.
The Emperor seems to have left from all his schedules for a while and ran back when he came to know that his son collapsed, despite his busy schedule.
"Don't push yourself too hard."
After saying this last sentence, the Emperor finally left the infirmary.
Only then did the Imperial knights, who were nervous about the sudden appearance of the Emperor, calm their minds down.
"How is your condition, Your Highness the Fifth?" When the situation calmed down, Alex was the first to walk near the Prince. When asked, the healer opened his mouth with a light smile.
"You've used up a lot of your vitality, but you'll recover if you stay still and get plenty of rest for a few days."
"Thanks."
Raymond didn't want to actually rest, but he answered with a nod towards the healer.
Back at the palace of the Fifth Prince.
Raymond called Alex.
"Did you call me? Fifth Prince."
"Alex, there will be a secret visitor coming, so minimize the patrolling knights within the perimeter around the bedroom."
"There was an attack on the Imperial Palace just a few days ago. Is that okay?"
Alex cautiously expressed his concerns.
He understood the meaning of Raymond, having a secret guest, still, he couldn't help but worry.
Although his feelings for the Fifth Prince have been developing into fondness recently, he was still not loyal to him yet.
However, Alex was the first person to take immediate action if there was a problem within the Fifth Prince’s personal safety.
"Alex, there's nothing you should worry about. It'll only take a few minutes, so stop them from patrolling for half an hour."
"Yes, Your Highness the Fifth."
"Go get some rest."
Alex is gone.
Not long after Alex left, the door slowly opened and an old man wearing a brown robe walked in.
It's Lisefield Dior.
"Has the old man come?"
He turned his head in the direction where he felt his presence as he put down the glass.
There, Lisefield stood with a tired look on his face.
"You're not wearing the blue-tower robe."
"Fifth Prince, that robe became a mess."
Instead of answering, Raymond nodded slowly.
"When I came back to the tower, some of the Imperial Guard were questioning me why my robe became a mess. Really, I've had a hard time making up excuses.”
Lisefield said while wiping his fake sweat drops. Raymond frowned as he filled the glass.
‘The Imperial Guard questioned him? This is a little too much.'
"Before, there were times I was being targeted, why did they send an Imperial Guard for you? Old man, what the hell do you usually do? You've done a lot of suspicious things?"
"Sigh! The Imperial Guard has no choice but to come."
Lisefield sighed with a mixture of complex emotions.
"You have made a hole in the blue tower, the tower which was covered with an ancient defensive magic."
