Chapter 42: Bird's Epic Trickery
The gang’s stolen ship was chained up and another pirate ship docked up against it. Their door was blasted open and a bunch of mouse-mechs walked in, one of them holding none other than James McMouse. He had crawled into the box at the last second because he was called back by the rest of the pirates. That’s right, he was WORKING AS A SPY the WHOLE TIME. James told the rest of the pirates about the six stolen maps and now they wanted them back.
Once the pirates boarded the stolen ship, the energy shields on it were reactivated from the Kearth Control Station to make sure that even if the gang escaped and the pirates were left on board, the Bearmy couldn’t shoot them.
“Hey, our shields are back!” noted Bird.
“Ya think we can power up our engines and escape?” asked Hoofa.
“Nah bro, they’ll kill the Bearmy if we do that. And they could also probably just deactivate the shields again. Besides, I have a plan.”
“What’s the plan, yo?” asked Hoofa.
“Wait and see… yo.”
Seconds later, the pirates all entered the room and demanded the maps. Bird turned around and opened a small compartment that he had put the maps in. Bird’s ultra genius plan had already been underway before this, because he had made copies of all of the maps and their coordinates just in case something bad happened to the originals. Bird grabbed one map of each planet and handed back six maps to the pirates. They looked through the maps. After a few seconds, the pirates were convinced that these were all the maps.
“Alright, come with us,” said one of the mouse-mechs. “Tell your friends to dock to the other side of the ship. We will wait at the door with you until you leave.”
I have nothing more to write on this matter because all happened as the pirates said. They waited with the gang at the door until DeBear’s ship docked up to it. The gang walked through (they had to re-dock at the elephant door for Gumpton) and the pirates took back their stolen ship. All tensions were settled and the Bearmy left the scene immediately after.
Shortly after, the pirates noticed that two of the maps they had been given were duplicates. Bird had accidentally given them 2 copies of the same map!! The pirates knew the gang had copied the maps. And now they needed to protect their artifacts!!! Well, I guess they didn’t need to. But they wanted to!!!!!
