The Great Adventure

Chapter 40: Bear Barrage

Numerous minutes later, the rest of the gang was being led to the infamous Mouse Maker Room to be turned into mice. And the odds that there was another bear waiting to ambush the guards escorting them were so low they were practically 0%.

Suddenly there was a great rumbling and crashing from below. Everyone looked down to see a Kearthian pirate ship crashing around all over the place.

“STOP IN THE NAME OF… ME!!!” boomed Hoofa’s voice from the ship’s speakers as the ship slowly made its way to the rest of the gang.

Down below, back in the ship garage, two more pirate ships were being loaded with mouse-mechs and being powered on. Hoofa did not have much time. Knowing this (and also because she sucked at piloting this ship), she crashed the ship directly into the walkway that the rest of the gang was on. Luckily, she didn’t hit them. She came less than a meter from one of the mouse guards.

“Okay, dudes! Run!!” shouted Hoofa. Mushpuff, Bird, Snorter, Klumpkrump, Qaeron, and the mouse friend dude all ran. The guards powered up their guns but were then squashed by Gumpton, who had been launched out of the elephant gun (gun that shoots elephants) conveniently attached to each ship.

“Man, I knew that elephant gun would come in handy one day,” said mouse friend. “Actually, I didn’t. But you know.”

The gang all walked through the front door of the pirate ship and Gumpton walked through the elephant door.

“We gotta get the Energy Cube!” Klumpkrump said after finding the piloting room where Hoofa was.

“Dude, there’s no time! We gotta leave!”

Hoofa then turned on full thrusters and blew through the outer wall of Kearth. And it was at just that very moment that the Bearmy finally arrived. Bird spoke through the messaging system.

“Yo, it’s us!” said Bird. “TROTCCAASF!”

“Oh my god do you still need our help??” asked DeBear.

“I mean, we did leave our Energy Cube in there, yo. And they also have their own Energy Cube. If you help us get ours, you can keep theirs.”

DeBear squealed upon hearing this message. He commanded the Bearmy to open fire on Kearth. Hundreds of Bear Bullets were fired at Kearth, but the planet’s Energy Cube vaporized them… but not all of them. There were so many bullets from tons of different angles and only one Energy Cube’s power was being harnessed. Some Bear Bullets were getting past the cube’s laser of vaporization and hitting the outer layer of Kearth… or they WOULD be, if Kearth didn’t have an ENERGY SHIELD, just like the one around Pig City. All the Bear Bullets hit it and were destroyed.

“Fire your Bear Missiles!” commanded DeBear. In case you forgot, the Bearmy’s ships came equipped not only with the standard Bear Bullets, but also BEAR MISSILES, with BEAR TECHNOLOGY, ABLE TO TAKE DOWN ENERGY SHIELDS!!! JUST WHAT THEY USED ON PIG CITY 34 CHAPTERS AGO!!!

Each Bearmy ship only had the capacity to store one Bissile, since they were so expensive to produce and were so massive. They contained trace amounts of gricklite, the most expensive material in the universe. Cow Galaxy had recently started conquering any and all planets with gricklite and mining them, so the Bearmy’s supply was starting to run short.

Anyways, as soon as the first few Bear Missiles hit Kearth’s energy shield, it started to slowly disintegrate away from the point of contact. All the missiles after the first few hit the bare metal surface of Kearth, taking off tiny bits and pieces.

After all the Bear Missiles were fired, the Bearmy continued its barrage of rapidfire Bear Bullets. I suppose I should explain these Bear Bullets I keep mentioning. They are small bullets that are colored brown. They look quite like a normal bullet, and they act the same except for one small catch. On impact, they burst open. For inside of each bullet is a tiny bear, you see, and that bear is let loose upon the bursting of the bullet. And since these bullets are usually shot in space, they will not lose any speed at all!

Almost immediately, the surface of Kearth was flooded with hundreds of tiny bears. These bears can survive in space, by the way. They’re perfectly suited for space combat. The tiny bears started clawing at the metal surface of the planet and slowly damaged it. The Bearmy made sure to shoot bullets all over the surface of the planet to evenly distribute the bears.

Within 5 minutes, most of the tiny bears had clawed their way through the surface of Kearth. Most of the surface of Kearth where the Bearmy had attacked had been reduced to a mesh of metal beams. But it was at this moment that at least 30 Kearthian pirate ships flew out of a ship garage and made their way towards the Bearmy.

“Do you guys have energy shields on your ships?” Mushpuff asked DeBear.

“Only on my ship,” said DeBear. “We’re too poor to afford them for the entire Bearmy.” Energy shields were powered using devices that required diamonds to make, so unless you had a lot of diamonds, you would not be able to make a ton of energy shields. “Does your ship have one?”

“Yup,” said Bird, seeing a symbol on the piloting screen that meant an energy shield was active.

“Well this isn’t good!” said Mushpuff.

“Why not?” asked DeBear.

“This means the rest of the pirate ships likely have shields too!!”

DeBear screamed.
