The Golem Mage

Chapter 453: Bandit Heroes.

"Clear the battlefield!, We have thousands of undead here, Don't let even one of the power stones in them go to waste!" Alec commanded as he collapsed to the ground.

As he lay there, looking up at the bright, shining Blood Moon in the sky, Alec raised his hand as if reaching out to grab it.

A smile appeared on his face as he reminisced about what had transpired earlier.

Having just discovered that the Dullahan was the true leader of the undead army, after he had succeeded in killing it.

In that moment, all of the undead in his own army crumbled, except for the Ghouls.

It became evident that the zombies and skeletons were mere summons of the Dullahan, while the Tier 4 undead held the real power and had surpassed the realm of being an ordinary summon.

The plan had been for the Lich to assume the role of a leader, but with the collapse of the army, the Lich's facade had also crumbled.

Without hesitation, the Lich swiftly retreated through the space gate, escaping Alec's grasp before he or anyone else could seizehim.

It was clear that the Lich had antagonized many mages on the battlefield, and now, without a vast army to shield it or provide real protection, it would be vulnerable to massacre.

Faced with this reality, the Lich chose to take the high road and escape for its life.

As Alec worked his student army with duties just after the battle, the city guards of the Sweden army celebrated.

It was a momentous occasion, as it marked the first time in a very long while that they had emerged victorious against the undead.

This time, their losses were considered acceptable, for most of the city guards would still have the chance to return to their families, who had feared the worst and shed tears of worry thinking

That would be the last time they would see their loved ones...

Atop the city gates, Edwards watched in surprise as Selene finally smiled.

When Edward turned to speak to his disciple, he noticed the expression on her face and commented,

"I never knew you still knew how to genuinely smile, i thought you had discarded all emotions entirely."

"Well, don't worry too much about me, Master, because I just stumbled upon a huge stash of magic crystals," Selene replied as she began descending the city gates.

"How did you know this was going to happen?" Edward questioned, still in awe. But Selene simply turned her head and replied,

"I didn't know anything, i just believed that he was the one when I saw him fight, Call it woman's instinct or whatever, but I just knew he would be the one to whom I would pass on my legacy to, for him to take care of future generations of war god academy ."

As Selene walked away, Edward remained on the city gate walls, gazing down at Alec and the rest of the student army.

"The academy seems to have recruited a lot of talented individuals this time, now the real question is whether you will develop and flourish or wither and die. Show me just how much potential you have!" Edward proclaimed before he too walked away.

He knew where his disciple was headed. Selene had bet that Alec would save the city, and she had won.

When Edward found out about her gamble, he had been angered as she was gambling with the lives of many students. But now he couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity and desire towards her gain, as he was once again impoverished of magic crystals.

Several hours had passed since the blood moon finally subsided, and the entire student army had retired to their respective quarters, exhausted from the intense battle they had just fought.

Not only did Alec have them drilling into the chests and heads of all the undead to extract power stones, but the fact that they were greeted by the shocked gazes of the city instead of cheers from the crowd made them cringe.

The citizens found it amusing that the mages they hailed as heroes were now busy scavenging the bodies of the undead for treasure and power stones.

Some of them being from high-tier clans, were unaccustomed to such actions, but under the supervision of characters like Arthur, who had a reputation akin to bandits, they had no choice but to carry out Alec's orders, As a result, they felt as though they were part of a bandit army instead of a student own.

Alec intentionally left only a few power stones for the city of Sweden, fearing that taking them all would only earn them resentment from the city guards despite their heroic efforts to save them.

"Alec, you have been summoned by the General and Major!" a city lord entered the camp area of the War God Mage Academy and informed Alec.

When Alec looked up, he saw the fanatical worship in the Guard's eyes and could only shake his head.

He was weary of being stared at as if he were some lesser God of war.

"Lead the way," Alec said, allowing himself to be led to the city lord's residence.

The home was positioned amidst a lush, sprawling landscape, a powerful symbol of authority and might.

Its strong exterior was crafted from sturdy timber beams, each meticulously carved and intricately interwoven. Shielded by formidable wooden walls, the house stood tall, dominating the surrounding area.

Upon entering, Alec was struck by the grandiosity and opulence that reflected the city lord's wealth. The interior was adorned with lavish tapestries, depicting heroic sagas of Norse mythology, illustrating battles and conquests won against the races of the Abyss.

These woven masterpieces hang from the walls, adding vibrant colors and a sense of culture to the otherwise rustic ambiance.

A roaring hearth, crackling with life, sits prominently at the center of the main hall, casting a warm, flickering glow that bathes the expansive room in an inviting light.

At the far end of the hall, Alec realized that some type of party was going on. The city lord sat on an imposing wooden throne, intricately carved with an emblem he was unaware of, showcasing his supremacy over his dominion.

"There he is, the hero of the Sweden city!" The city lord roared as he gulped his mead.

The ladies who saw Alec quickly came close to him, with a few even removing their clothes and exposing their Tittes to him.

Alec's eyes bulged as he found himself staring at their nudity.

He quickly navigated his way towards the end of the hall, where General Edward and Selene were.

Selene had a pouch in her hand that she kept throwing into the air with a small smile on her face, while General Edward was frowning.

"You called for me!" Alec said after a bow, but Selene responded with a negative swing of her head.

"No, we did not call you, it was this drunkard who used our names to summon you because he wanted to thank you personally," General Edward pointed at the city lord.

"See you tomorrow, have fun!" Selene said as she tapped Alec's shoulders, leaving him with the city lord of Sweden city, with Edward following behind her. Alec smiled nervously when he looked at the city lord .
