The Golem Mage

Chapter 351: Chaos!... 2

"How?!"

The captain mumbled as he surveyed the line-up of Orcs that had assembled in front of the academy's city.

The more he pondered the situation, the more he realized he had fallen right into the Orcs' trap, He never suspected that a Tier 7 orc would be lurking nearby when he was watching the mage squad execute his orders.

It seemed that despite his efforts to hide himself well using the Wind Veil spell, the Tier 7 Orc had already detected his presence and alerted the others.

Even the two Orcs that had chased after him were likely under the Tier 7 Orc's orders.

The fact that these two Orcs now stood by his side, showing respect, indicated to the captain that he had unwittingly fallen into a grand conspiracy.

"Why don't you spare me the stress and open the Barrier?, That way, when I conquer this city, I won't have to torture you much," the Tier 7 Orc taunted, still gripping his club.

Taking a moment, the captain studied the features of the leading Orc – the long beard, tribal tattoos on his face, and a huge cloak draped over his body.

Though he tried to conceal it, it was evident that he was an aged Orc, but age did not diminish his strength.

In fact, his experience showed through in his precise attack on the lance.

"We both know that's not possible," the captain retorted, his voice filled with determination.

"I will never allow you to take over this city, It belongs to the War God Mage Academy, Are you truly prepared to go to war with the academy?" the captain said trying to use the academy's name to scare off the Orcs

The Tier 7 Orc scoffed, his expression dripping with disdain.

"Tsk! What's so special about the War God Mage Academy?, Aside from past glory and the older generation, the new generation it has produced is nothing but trash, Allow me to relieve the academy of this burden since they clearly can't defend it right now."

"When I take over the space passage, I will turn it into a space gate, That way, the Orcs will have a means to launch a direct attack on the academy itself, Considering the longstanding grudges the other Orc villages hold against your academy, I can only imagine the chaos that would be unleashed when I invite them to attack " the Tier 7 Orc explained with a chilling excitement in his voice.

"Now, let me make it clear one final time, Open the barrier yourself, and I might show you mercy when I kill you, Refuse, and you will suffer severe consequences," the Tier 7 Orc threatened.

"I would never open the barrier, Do your worst. We will defend this city until reinforcements arrive," the captain defiantly declared.

"Oh, no wonder you're so adamant, Too bad you have made the wrong choices, Shamans, proceed!" the Tier 7 Orc ordered.

The two Orcs that came with him summoned their staffs and began casting spells, their incantations echoing through the air. And soon, two enormous rune constellations appeared in the sky.

"Captain, the space passage seems to have been temporarily halted,"

One of the black-armoured guards flew towards the captain and whispered urgently.

"What?!"

The captain exclaimed in shock, before glancing back at the two Tier 6 shamans who were now in the process of preparing another spell, as The rune constellations they first casted continued to revolve in the air.

"I see what those runes are for, They're locking down space, preventing us from calling form sending someone to the Academy, so we can't get help anytime soon, But even if you cut off our opportunity to ask for assistance, you still won't be able to take down the entire city with just five of you," the captain retorted.

The Orc leader laughed in response.

"You are so ignorant, my friend. Can't you see the bigger picture? I'm not foolish enough to try and take down the city on my own. The academy must have hidden one or two great fighters here, so why should I fight alone when I can bring my entire army?"

The Orc leader's face twisted into a wild smile as he extended his arms wide, savouring the impending chaos.

"An army!"

The black-armoured guards on the wall exclaimed in confusion, unable to believe what they were hearing.

"Oh yes, an army," the Orc leader replied with a sneer.

"You have encroached on our land, claimed our territories, and forgotten that you must defend to keep what you have, It seems we have left you all for too long, and you've forgotten what war truly entails. Allow me to remind you of the true meaning of bloodshed."

As the two shamans completed their second spell, a massive space gate materialized before them.

It was evident that the gate was linked to predetermined coordinates, Without hesitation, the space gate opened, and a horde of Orcs poured out wielding various weapons.

The Orcs ranged from Tier 2 to Tier 4, creating a formidable force.

"Attack!"

The leading Orc bellowed, and over two thousand Orcs sprinted towards the barrier, aiming to weaken its defences.

Even the captain hadn't anticipated that the Tier 7 Orc would make such a bold move.

The captain had assumed that the Tier 7 Orc would exhaust his mana in sending out destructive attacks until he breached the barrier, expecting this to leave him vulnerable.

The captain believed that with the support of the guards and the city's defense mechanisms, they would be able to capitalize on the situation and defend the city successfully.

However, the Orc orchestrating this assault once again showcased his ability to get things done without himself being the figurehead, he was giving the captain the feeling of someone two steps ahead .

The entire city could hear the thunderous rumble of approaching footsteps.

The residents clutched their weapons, steeling themselves for what seemed to be an inevitable war.

This was a type of conflict that hadn't transpired in over a hundred years, as the Orcs hadn't challenged the War God Mage Academy's city in such a manner for a long time.

Although only a Tier 7 Orc was leading the attack, it was clear that there was a greater schemer pulling the strings behind the scenes.

Otherwise, the academy wouldn't have deployed most of its high-tier mages elsewhere, and the Orcs just seemed to be aware of this vulnerability, so choosing to attack at this moment couldn't be seen as coincidence.

There was an undeniable presence of a traitor within the chain of command of the War God Mage Academy.

While the academy city teetered on the brink of being overthrown, Alec's golems continued to wreak havoc all over the Beast King Region.

In that moment, both Sword Saint and Tempest Butcher found themselves in a precarious situation as they came face to face with a beast whose body seemed to be constantly changing.

This particular creature had three heads, with the one in the middle resembling that of a lion.

"This beast appears to be at the peak of the Tier 4 realm, We should flee immediately," Sword Saint advised.

"Master only mentioned running if we encountered a pack of Tier 3 beasts, Why should I falter at the thought of facing a single Tier 3 creature?, No! I will slay this beast and take a step closer to achieving a breakthrough," Butcher stubbornly declared, clutching his axe tightly.

"Fools!" the lion-headed beast sneered as it lunged forward, biting down on it's other two heads, one resembling an eagle and the other a wolf.

The golems stood in shock at witnessing a Tier 3 demonic beast speak, but the next second, Butcher cursed himself for not heeding Sword Saint's warning.

As an unmistakable aura of a Tier 4 beast emanated from the creature, causing Butcher to realize the gravity of the situation.

As if the revelation wasn't enough, two mighty eagle wings unfurled from the creature's back as it let out a deafening roar, its claws taking on a menacing new form.
