Chapter 38 – Familiarity
"You've been quiet, goddess." Lydia said. "Ever since you listened in before she went to sleep."
"Yeah." Kyrie said in a low voice. "She's not yet seventeen. I haven't spent a lot of time with her. Less than a year of time if added together."
"And she knows things that your servants do not. The Others of Haven do not know these things." Lydia said quietly.
"I am the goddess of death, Lydia. I can be a curse to the people, or their release. I choose to take people to Haven for my own selfish needs." She said, her eyes narrowed. "Who is there to share this with? What is there to share with someone? Share death?"
"Goddess, you've gifted us life after death." Lydia said with a smile on her lips. "I would have died hundreds of years ago. But here I am, standing in the throne room of the goddess that I worship. I do assigned tasks as I did when I was mortal on Imera, and I give advice. Without you, I would be dust on the ground."
"So even though you feel that you have nothing to share with her, does she not already take your burdens with a smile?" Lydia asked her. "Does she not eagerly wait for the day where she can spend all her time with you?"
"How long has it been since I've devoured you, Lydia?" Kyrie asked. Lydia blushed.
"A few hundred years, goddess." She said in a small voice. When Kyrie held out her hand, Lydia blushed even brighter. "I was hoping you didn't dislike my flavor." Kyrie grinned a bit.
"My lust for life was just a little bit dim. Come here, daughter. I want to hear your moans." Unlike at previous times, where her ravenous hunger overwhelmed her, Kyrie pursued Lydia's lustful nature, and incited it to a new height.
"Now I know why little Lena likes to scrape her teeth across their flesh." Kyrie said as she did just that. Her teeth scraped across Lydia's breast before she took a lick of her plump nipple. She moved lower, and kissed her way down.
Kyrie's long tongue pulsed within Lydia's wet crevice, and her teeth sank into her meaty lips. Lydia's cries of pleasure, mixed with the pain of her teeth slowly sinking into those more sensitive areas, drove her climax to a more intense peak.
By the time Lydia's climax had concluded, the goddess drove her into a new madness. She didn't rip and tear like a wild animal, where her hunger guided the results. Instead, Kyrie did as Lena had done, which was something she had not done in hundreds of years.
She ate her slowly, relished every bite, and took the time to enjoy Lydia's flavor. Even when she took the last bite, Kyrie was filled with contentment she had not felt for a long time.
Lydia reformed, still shuddering from the experience. Her core had been rocked, and the flush of being loved to that degree remained on the surface of her skin.
Kyrie gathered her up and set her on her lap while she sat on the throne.
"Next time I hunger, Rachel will stand watch in your place." Kyrie said and lightly trained a finger over her bare skin. "My little Lena will be quite upset if I don't let her have a bite of someone so delicious." Lydia leaned in to her chest.
"So naughty, goddess." She whispered weakly. She had never experienced this side of the goddess, at least not that she could remember.
However, for some unknown reason, it felt far too familiar. It grabbed hold of her like a buried memory, one that tickled her core, and she couldn't figure out why.
Why would this kind of affection feel familiar, when she was sure she had never experienced it before?

Kyrie frowned. She looked around, but even though she was in her throne room, it was composed of her own red mists. This was Haven, but not Haven. She looked at her hand.
"I'm dreaming?" She whispered.
"Goddess!" Kyrie turned as a familiar voice pulled at her senses. A child ran across a field, and ran right into her thighs. The child's arms wrapped around her upper thighs, and she looked up. "Goddess, I have missed you so much!"
"Do I know you, child?" She lifted her into her arms. "I do know you. Why do I know you?"
"You always forget." The girl said, and sighed sadly. "How many times have you forgotten me so you wouldn't feel sad?" Kyrie felt her confusion slowly start to evaporate.
"Jana." She started to smile, and that smile grew wider. "Jana! It is you, isn't it?"
"I see you have forgotten me." The girl, 'Jana', started to smile. "But that memory is loosening. You must have been so sad when mom took me away and put me to sleep." She lightly touched Kyrie's shoulder.
"Jana! I can't believe it!" Kyrie felt a shudder run through her mists, and memories, as old emotions were stirred up. She whispered reverently. "Jana. Oh, I have missed you!" Kyrie hugged her fiercely.
"Goddess, you promised! You promised you wouldn't forget me!" The girl said with a pout. "Do you know how long I've waited? These mist memories are lonely." The girl teared up a little.
"How? How did I forget you?" She whispered and hugged her to her chest.
Jana. A child she met five hundred years ago, much like she met Lena recently. She was the source of great happiness for Kyrie, and an incredible amount of misery.
Hundreds of years ago, a child whose innocence and reverence, along with faith as hard as iron, made Kyrie feel like she was doing something important. It stirred fierce protectiveness within her, but one night, she had died in her sleep. Kyrie was not able to find her spirit in order to bring her to Haven, and it devastated her.
"But you died, Jana. I couldn't find you either!" Kyrie sniffed as red tears of blood ran down her cheeks. "How are you here? It was over five hundred years ago." Jana grinned.
"Not just five hundred years ago, goddess. Don't you remember?" The girl said with a saucy grin. "That wasn't my first time playing with you." Kyrie's face cleared of all emotion, except for shock. Those tears rolled down faster.
"It's not possible. Every five hundred years?" Kyrie looked at the girl in her arms, and she slowly began to morph into someone more familiar. Kyrie fell to her knees.
"Lena." She looked just as she did when Lena was five or six. Kyrie groaned and shuddered as memory after memory opened, and was firmly pushed closed again. She put a hand on Kyrie's cheek. The smile was nostalgic, along with a powerful wave of affection.
"Soon, goddess."

"Not yet, dear Kyrie." Gallae said as her eyes glowed. She put her hand on Kyrie's head, and smiled a little.
"I know you miss her, but she's not yet strong enough to endure the memories you both share." Gallae sighed. She forcefully closed the door on Kyrie's memories, and sealed them back up again. She smiled a little.
"To think that she would force you to evolve a little this time round." She put her finger to Kyrie's forehead.
"Soon, little Kyrie. As soon as she's stable."
