The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 72: I really want to see her again, even just for a second!

Irina's words startled the three of them, and Hermione felt relieved after checking Irina over carefully to ensure she wasn't injured.

"Irina, what happened next?" Harry asked impatiently.

Irina recounted what had happened afterward, of course, leaving out the use of the Forbidden Fire by Lynn.

"That Senior Lynn is so powerful... Of course, Irina, you're also very powerful. I didn't expect you to be able to fight against a dark wizard of that level!" Hermione exclaimed.

Unlike Harry and Ron, Hermione was well-protected by Irina and didn't have much of a grudge against Slytherins, except for Malfoy. So, after learning about Lynn, she immediately showed her admiration.

Harry, still confused, asked, "By the way, why did the dark wizard kill the unicorn? It seemed like he wanted to drink its blood."

At this, Irina lowered her gaze, feeling a little down.

She explained, "Because unicorn blood can extend a person's life. But killing such a pure, weak, and defenseless life like that of a unicorn is extremely cruel. The only ones who would do it are those who have nothing left to lose. Once the unicorn's blood touches their lips, they will have a life that is half-dead, eternally cursed."

Harry, incredulous, asked, "But why? If you're cursed for the rest of your life, wouldn't it be better to just die?"

Irina shook her head, still a bit sad. "That's true, but what if the person just wants to delay their life? Don't forget, there's something in Hogwarts Castle that can completely restore their magical power and life... something that could make them immortal!"

"The Philosopher's Stone!" Hermione exclaimed as if understanding something.

Irina nodded. "Yes! If someone has been inactive for more than ten years and is desperate to come back..."

"Do you mean...?" Ron exclaimed, "The Dark Lord?"

Hearing the words from the three of them, Harry suddenly felt a cold grip around his heart.

He remembered what Hagrid had once said: Some people say he's dead, but I think that's pure nonsense. He probably doesn't have much humanity left, so he refuses to die.

"Now I understand!" Harry shouted out loud. "Snape wants to get the Philosopher's Stone for Voldemort… Voldemort is waiting in the Forbidden Forest… We thought Snape just wanted to get rich off the Stone…"

Irina held her forehead again.

No, does this guy really expect to let Snape carry the blame?

"No, Harry, I think you misunderstood!" Irina said helplessly. "I'm afraid Professor Snape is innocent. When we almost died, Professor Snape and the other three professors came to protect us. He should be a good man to us!"

Upon hearing Irina's words, Harry was stunned and then grew doubtful.

Who else could it be if not Snape?! Quirrell?! Harry thought wildly.

Just as Harry was lost in thought, Irina interrupted him: "But no matter what, that person will definitely come to steal the Philosopher's Stone, right?"

"Yes!" Harry suddenly realized.

As long as they could protect the Philosopher's Stone, it didn't matter who came, right?

Meanwhile, Professor Snape did not let Lynn return to his dormitory but took him to his office.

"So, you were the one who killed the troll on Halloween?" Professor Snape asked, his voice low and serious.

"Yes, Professor," Lynn nodded.

"Well," Snape's voice was ghostly, "assuming what you said is true, then, Mr. Rowe, please tell me, how did you kill the troll?"

Looking at Professor Snape, who seemed like a large bat with fangs and claws, Lynn's expression didn't change: "If you've asked Professor Dumbledore, I believe he should know that I've studied alchemy and that my teacher is Nicol."

Upon hearing this, Professor Snape was stunned. He didn't know about this.

"Setting alchemy aside, how do you explain the traces of fire at the scene? I don't believe a second-year student can cast such a powerful fire spell."

Professor Snape stared intently at Lynn, as if trying to see something.

Lynn raised his left hand, and a flame appeared from nothing.

"And what if that's the case?"

Lynn said softly.

"Silent casting and no wand?!" Seeing this, even Professor Snape felt uncomfortable.

Wizards who can cast spells silently and without a wand are at least as powerful as elite Aurors, and it's no surprise that an elite Auror could cast a fire spell like that.

But how could a second-year student learn to cast spells silently and without a wand?!

Realizing he had lost his composure, Professor Snape quickly pretended to be cold again: "Ah, you truly are a genius student of Slytherin, Mr. Rowe."

Lynn was neither humble nor arrogant: "I can't say I'm a genius, I just work a bit harder than my peers."

At that moment, Lynn's importance in Professor Snape's heart grew several levels. In front of such a talented student, who was rare in a century, he naturally hoped to train him well.

"You may leave now, Mr. Rowe."

After taking a deep breath, Professor Snape's voice was still cold, but it seemed much softer than before.

"Professor, good night!"

Lynn bowed slightly and then left Professor Snape's office.

After the door closed behind him, Professor Snape stood lost in thought.

"What talent… I'm afraid Dumbledore was only like this when he was young... If I can train him well, he'll definitely achieve something in the future..."

"But, is he the hope for the future of the magical world… or a new storm…"

Professor Snape lowered his head, contemplating. He thought of Voldemort, who also had talent when he was young.

Given that Lynn killed a giant monster for a classmate he had never met and even faced off against a powerful dark wizard, his nature shouldn't be bad.

As long as the training is in place and he's not allowed to stray, then in the future...

Ah, let future generations worry about the future...

By then, I'll be old, and when Voldemort is completely dead, then I'll truly be able to atone for my sins...

Ah, I really want to see her again... even if it's just once...

Professor Snape glanced at a picture frame not far away. Inside the frame was a young woman with dark red hair.
