Chapter 57: Granades
Lynn nodded slightly and looked at Irina: "How's your study on wandless spellcasting going?"
Irina raised her left hand, and a beam of icy blue light shot from her palm, turning the snowball in Fred's hand into a ball of ice.
"That day, Master Lynn, you taught me the wandless casting technique. I successfully cast the Freezing Charm and the Clear Water Spring Charm without a wand. I also followed the conversion techniques you mentioned and developed A Snow-!" She paused. "I combined a clear spring spell with an ice spell!"
Irina waved her left hand again, and a large amount of white snow materialized from thin air, forming into a delicate snowball in her hand.
Irina handed the snowball to Fred, compensating for the one Fred had lost, which had turned into a ball of ice.
But without thinking, Fred grabbed the snowball and threw it at Irina's face before running off laughing.
This left Irina stunned.
When Irina reacted, she wiped the snow off her face, and the word "#" appeared clearly on her forehead.
"That guy Fred... made you laugh. Master Lynn... um, Master Lynn, I still have some things to take care of, so I'll go first!"
Irina struggled to maintain her original smile.
"Smile, smile, and keep up appearances!" she yelled madly in her heart.
Lynn nodded, indicating she could go ahead with her business.
Irina immediately drew her wand and chased after Fred.
"Grandmother, worst case scenario, I don't want this image anymore!"
Irina waved her wand, and three freezing charms shot through the air, freezing the unsuspecting Fred in place.
Not long after, Fred's ghostly screams and howls could be heard from a distance.
Lynn smiled and shook her head before turning back toward the castle.
On the other hand, after the intervention of the three Harrys, Irina stopped attacking Fred.
George laughed at Fred.
"I was careless and didn't dodge!" Fred said angrily, causing everyone to laugh.
Soon after, George took Fred, who was bruised and swollen, and led him away, while Harry and the others headed back to the castle.
The day before Christmas vacation, the auditorium had been decorated in a beautiful and magnificent manner. The walls were covered with hanging eggs made of holly and mistletoe. There were twelve tall Christmas trees scattered around, some adorned with small, sparkling icicles, while hundreds of candles flickered on some of the trees.
Harry and the others also saw the professors using magic to decorate the auditorium.
Professor Flitwick used his wand to spray threads of golden bubbles, hanging them from the branches of a freshly moved Christmas tree, while Professor McGonagall ordered the senior students of the Transfiguration Club to mold the decorations together to decorate the auditorium.
However, even though most of the members of these Transfiguration Clubs were senior students in their sixth and seventh years, Irina noticed that Master Lynn, who was only in second year, was also among them.
Lynn lightly waved his wand, and the small Christmas trees transformed into perfect little trees, which were then moved to their designated spots using the levitation spell.
With Lynn's current magical power, the transformation magic on these trees would last until the end of Christmas vacation.
Lynn's transformation efficiency was extremely high; one person was equivalent to three or four senior students.
Under Professor McGonagall's orders, it only took ten minutes to complete the transformation work in the entire auditorium.
Good days always pass quickly.
Christmas morning.
After Lynn woke up from the soft bed, he saw the gifts at the foot of the bed. To his surprise, there were nine gifts there, two more than last year.
Lynn got up with interest and opened the first gift.
This gift was from his mother, Rowena, and contained an invisibility cloak and a letter from his parents.
Although the invisibility cloak has great functionality in the wizarding world, its short duration makes it less popular. After all, wizards who can afford an invisibility cloak can use the Disillusionment Charm as a substitute. He knew that a Disillusionment Charm could probably replace the invisibility cloak for most wizards.
Therefore, despite its powerful functionality, the invisibility cloak was more like a luxury item.
Of course, this invisibility cloak could also serve as a good alchemy material for Lynn.
After reading his mother's letter, Lynn continued opening the gifts.
Next, Lynn opened the gifts from three professors: Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, and Professor Snape. Most of the Christmas gifts that professors give to good students are the same. For example, Professor McGonagall gave something extra special for his advanced Transfiguration grades. Professor Flitwick still gave him a wand maintenance kit, while Professor Snape gave him a bottle of healing potion.
After the three professors, there was the Christmas gift from the Weasley twins.
The Weasley twins' Christmas gift was a large jar of Canary Creams. With Lynn's help, they had already contacted and learned alchemy beforehand, and had invented many prank products in advance. This jar of Canary Creams was one of them.
However, Fred and George seemed to have intended to play a prank on Lynn, and they didn't even tell him about the special nature of this jar of Canary Creams.
If Lynn's secret method hadn't allowed him to see the alchemical circle embedded in the Canary Creams, he might have eaten them like normal biscuits.
"I still need a lesson from them!" Lynn smiled, shook his head, and opened the next gift.
When opening the gift, there was a black hand-knitted sweater inside, with a large letter "R" on the chest.
The sender of this Christmas gift surprised Lynn. It turned out to be Mrs. Weasley!
As you know, given how much the Weasley family hates the Death Eaters, even though he is a good friend of the Weasley twins, his background as a descendant of a Death Eater meant that he was never truly accepted by others. Not to mention, asking Mrs. Weasley to personally knit a sweater for him, a descendant of a Death Eater.
"Could it be that there are some factors I don't know about that made her change her view of me?" Lynn thought, looking at the sweater in his hand.
Behind the sweater was the shorthand pen provided by Irwin Foley.
"Could this be... a gift from Irina?"
Lynn opened the penultimate Christmas gift. This gift looked small and exquisite, and the sender was Irina, whom he had only met three times so far.
Inside the package was a crystal ball. Of course, this wasn't the kind of crystal ball used in Divination classes, but the ornamental kind in the Muggle world, with patterns like snowflakes and little figures. Besides the crystal ball, there was also a letter inside with Irina's gratitude to Lynn for teaching her wandless spellcasting.
Soon, Lynn opened the last package, a Christmas gift from his teacher, Wallison Green.
But after opening the package, what was inside left Lynn stunned.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!!"
Even Lynn, who had always been calm, couldn't control his temper at this moment.
He saw three round things shaped like pineapples lying quietly inside the package.
"Damn it, grenades!"
