The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 27: Year-end Dinner

Lynn simply waved his wand and cast a beautiful silent spell to complete the exam in Charms class.

The same applied to the Transfiguration exam. For Lynn, who could easily transform into a lion and a venomous snake, turning a mouse into a snuffbox was not even worthy of being called an exam. When performing the Transfiguration spell, Lynn even created a pattern of the Great Wall on the snuffbox.

As for the Potions exam, Professor Snape swished his robes and glared at Lynn like a bat. However, Lynn, who had dedicated himself to studying alchemy, had already developed a calm and composed demeanor. Even though his partner Irving's hands trembled several times under Professor Snape's piercing gaze, Irving, who was only responsible for handling the ingredients, didn't affect the final outcome. In the end, Lynn handed in a bottle of perfect quality Forgetfulness Potion.

History of Magic was the last exam. This memorization-heavy subject posed no challenge to Lynn. Before Professor Binns had even finished announcing the closing of the exam papers, Lynn handed his paper in early and slipped out the back door of the classroom.

After the exams, the young wizards were free to enjoy a week of leisure in Hogwarts Castle, but Lynn was an exception, as Professor Green did not intend to let him rest.

After seven consecutive days of practical classes, Lynn felt completely drained. Even after drinking Madam Pomfrey's potion, he couldn't fully recover.

"Stop the spell immediately!" In the final practical class, Professor Green waved his wand and released Lynn from the Full-Body Bind Curse.

Professor Green looked at Lynn, who was covered in injuries, and waved his hand to heal him. Then he said happily, "I'm very pleased with how much your strength has improved this semester. I think even if you were to face a Dark Wizard like Casillas again, you could hold your own for more than ten minutes."

According to Professor Green, Lynn, a mere first-year, was already capable of holding off a Dark Wizard like Casillas for a considerable amount of time. This demonstrated how much Lynn had improved.

If Lynn continues to grow and his magical reserves peak as he matures, even if he does nothing for the next five years, his current combat skills alone would be enough to rival Casillas.

Professor Green continued, "I only promised Dumbledore that I would teach at Hogwarts for one year. After this semester, I will be leaving. I hope that next year, you will have a capable Defense Against the Dark Arts professor!"

Lynn spread his hands.

"Professor, it seems your wish will be in vain. Next year's Defense Against the Dark Arts professor will be a garlic-headed man with Voldemort on the back of his head, stumbling through lessons!"

"Well, I plan to return to France in August to meet my teacher. If you'd like, you could join me and travel to France as well, to meet my teacher—your master! I'll come pick you up at your home in August!"

Professor Green said.

Hearing this, Lynn's eyes immediately lit up, and he agreed without hesitation.

Who is Professor Green's teacher? That's the famous alchemist, Nicolas Flamel!

This is a huge opportunity for Lynn, who is studying alchemy!

"Teacher, here's my home address. My house is protected by the Fidelius Charm, so no one who doesn't know the address can enter."

Lynn wrote down the address of Rolle Manor on a piece of paper and handed it to Professor Green.

Lynn wasn't worried about his home address being leaked because Professor Green wasn't the secret keeper for the Fidelius Charm cast on Rolle Manor. Therefore, even if he knew the address, he could not tell anyone. Not even Legilimency would allow Professor Green to reveal the address from his memory.

Professor Green glanced at the note and then burned it with a flick of his wand.

"No problem," Professor Green smiled warmly.

When Professor Green and Lynn returned to Hogwarts Castle, the end-of-year feast was about to begin.

The Great Hall on the first floor was already filled with students. The hall was decorated in green and silver, representing Slytherin, to celebrate Slytherin's victory in the Hogwarts House Cup for the sixth consecutive year. Behind the guest of honor seats was a huge banner featuring a green venomous snake symbolizing Slytherin.

Harry Potter had not enrolled that year, so Dumbledore naturally didn't award Gryffindor any extra points, and as a result, Gryffindor finished last.

Professor Dumbledore stood and cheerfully addressed the students. "Another year has passed! Before you enjoy these delicious dishes, allow me to trouble you with some old man's ramblings. What a wonderful year this has been! Your little minds must be bursting with knowledge... And now, a whole summer vacation awaits you, so you can digest everything before the next semester begins..."

"Now, as far as I know, we must begin with the House Cup awards ceremony. The final standings are as follows: Fourth place, Gryffindor with 281 points; Third place, Hufflepuff with 361 points; Second place, Ravenclaw with 443 points; and in first place, Slytherin with 542 points."

Thunderous cheers and applause erupted from the Slytherin table, while Grifindor, sitting nearby, looked downcast.

In the past half year, the Weasley twins, who had improved dungbombs, had obviously deducted many points from Gryffindor. Of course, much of the point loss was due to the little lions' daily pranks.

And because Lynn had been able to earn extra points for Slytherin in every class, the House score had reached a record high this year.

If there had been a contribution list for Slytherin's points, Lynn would undoubtedly have been at the top, leading the second-place student by more than 100 points.

After the year-end feast, the final exam results were announced.

Lynn had undoubtedly received "O"s (Outstanding) in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration, Charms, and Potions, while he earned an "E" (Exceeds Expectations) in the other subjects. Though he didn't achieve the perfect scores Hermione had in the original series, Lynn was already one of the top students among his peers.

The reason Lynn didn't score "O" in every subject wasn't due to lack of ability, but rather because he felt it was unnecessary to waste time on subjects that didn't interest him.

Even though Hermione in the original book could get "O" in all subjects, even a third-year Hermione would likely not stand a chance against a first-year Lynn in practical combat.
