After realizing she couldn't draw the Sword of Gryffindor, Irina was on the brink of tears.

When magic proved ineffective against the basilisk, the Sword of Gryffindor was one of the few weapons that could stand up to it. With Lynn injured by the basilisk and unable to summon the Sword, Irina couldn't help but feel anxious. She wanted so badly to help Lynn!

Even though Riddle existed as a being of energy that could change between reality and nothingness, the Horcrux diary, still in physical form, remained tangible. Irina snatched the diary right out of his chest.

"Even if your life and death are nothing but thoughts, the diary is a real object," Irina mocked as she stepped back, now holding the Horcrux diary in her hand.

At that moment, Riddle roared in fury, launching curses at Irina. "Damn witch, give me back the diary!"

Irina dodged, her eyes full of determination.

She had lost the diary once due to her carelessness, and had even paid the price by having her best friend petrified.

This time, she would never let go of the diary, no matter what!

When Riddle's curses failed to hit Irina, he paused. His expression changed as if he had thought of something, and he let out a low hiss.

Meanwhile, the basilisk, which had been attacking Lynn fiercely, suddenly turned around at Riddle's Parseltongue command and began charging toward Irina, attempting to bite her head off.

Irina, focused on Riddle, was unaware of the basilisk's approach and didn't have time to react.

"Irina, watch out!"

Lynn screamed desperately. Drawing a massive amount of magical power from the philosofer's Stone, he pointed his wand at the basilisk.

A sharp beam of light shot out, hitting the basilisk's serpent body just as it lunged at Irina, causing it to veer off course by a few centimeters.

However, the basilisk still struck Irina forcefully on her left shoulder, sending her flying.

Irina hit the ground hard, rolling a few times from the impact. But no matter what, she still gripped the diary tightly in her hand.

When Irina got back up, a slight trace of blood appeared at the corner of her mouth.

"Expelliarmus!"

Before Irina could regain her balance, a red beam of light slammed into her, sending her flying several meters further.

The wand in Irina's hand flew from the impact and was caught by Riddle.

Irina barely dodged again. Though Riddle was merely a younger version of Voldemort, with a wand in hand, he was still far beyond anything Irina could handle.
