The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 132: At least she could save her life

Everything that happened in the dormitory caught Irina off guard. As she had always been the older sister in Gryffindor, no one had ever dared take her things without permission. This made her leave her diary hidden under her pillow at that moment.

But now, a thief whose origin she didn't know had thrown her pillow aside and stolen the Horcrux diary from beneath it.

The suddenness of the situation took Irina by surprise.

"Irina, it seems there's a thief in our dormitory. Check if you've lost anything," Hermione urgently whispered in Irina's ear.

Irina shook her head. There was no need to look anymore. Other things didn't matter, but the most important item—the Horcrux diary—had disappeared without a trace.

"Listen, Hermione, try not to walk alone around the castle in the future. I suspect the thief might be the murderer who released the basilisk. I'm afraid there will be another attack!" Irina said seriously, grabbing Hermione by the arm.

Hermione was a little confused by Irina's words. "Huh? Why do you think the thief is the murderer? There doesn't seem to be a necessary connection between them..."

Irina interrupted, "Don't worry about this. Just promise me that no matter what you do next, you must go with others, including Harry and Ron. I'll remind you tomorrow!"

Seeing Irina's cautious attitude, Hermione didn't say anything more and nodded in agreement.

After Hermione agreed, Irina couldn't sleep at all. She left the dormitory and headed to the empty Gryffindor common room.

"Lynn, my diary was stolen!" Irina injected her magical power into the two-way mirror, speaking in a deep voice to Lynn, who was in pajamas on the other side.

Upon hearing this, Lynn on the other side of the mirror was momentarily stunned, then his expression became serious.

Irina saw Lynn waving his wand through the mirror, then putting on a wizard's robe over his pajamas. Once dressed, he said to Irina, "I'll meet you outside the house in two minutes if needed."

Irina nodded and then ended the connection with the mirror.

Despite it being past curfew, the two set off from the Room of Requirement under a disillusionment charm.

"I need a place to hold meetings!" Lynn paced back and forth in front of the Room of Requirement three times, and the familiar wooden door appeared once more.

The two entered the Room of Requirement one after the other. After closing the door, they removed the Disillusionment Charm.

Lynn wasn't interested in preparing tea. He sat down at a round table and focused on Irina. "The diary was stolen? When was it taken? Are there any clues?"

Irina shook her head. She didn't find any evidence in the dormitory.

Lynn continued asking, "Then, from the moment you received the diary until now, has anyone else seen it, and who has seen it?"

Irina thought for a moment and said somewhat distrustfully, "I've never shown my diary to anyone except on Valentine's Day. After the little elf pulled me, the diary fell to the floor and was seen by people around me. Ginny seems to be one of them!"

Upon hearing this, Lynn immediately understood everything.

It was likely that after Ginny saw the diary in Irina's hand that day, she feared the diary would reveal the truth to Irina, so she stole it today.

Thinking about this, Lynn immediately slapped himself.

"It's all my fault for asking that little elf to sing you a song that day. As a result, the diary was discovered. I brought it upon myself..."

Irina, seeing Lynn's face somewhat red and swollen from the slap, instinctively shrank her neck. It seemed that the slap he gave himself wasn't light...

"Now that it's happened, there's no use regretting it. But from these clues, we should be able to determine that Ginny stole the diary."

Irina said.

Irina thought to herself, "What if I steal it back?"

Lynn sighed. "You weren't able to steal the diary from Ginny before, and now it's even harder with Ginny being extra cautious."

Irina said somewhat reluctantly, "Do we have to wait until the Horcrux leads Ginny to the Chamber of Secrets like in the original book, and then let Harry and the others go in to save her?"

This feeling of helplessness, despite having prophetic abilities, made Irina feel quite uncomfortable.

Lynn said helplessly, "Now it seems we can only wait and see, but it depends on the people. During this time, you should do your best to remind those around you not to go alone and keep an eye on Ginny."

Saying this, Lynn handed Irina a bracelet.

"What's this?" Irina asked, a bit confused.

Lynn explained, "This bracelet contains a large amount of vitality stored in advance. Once the diary absorbs Ginny's vitality, it can replenish a small portion of the missing vitality, which can at least save Ginny's life. As for the other life force, it can only be returned to Ginny automatically after the Horcrux is destroyed."

Irina nodded solemnly.

The conversation ended fruitlessly. With the diary out of their control, the best they could do was wait and see.

The next morning.

This was the day the Quidditch match was held, and the young wizards came to the auditorium for breakfast.

Irina approached Ginny and said, "Ginny, this bracelet is for you."

Upon hearing Irina's voice, Ginny stood up instinctively. After reacting, she looked at Irina with a guilty conscience and asked, "Sister Irina, why are you suddenly giving me the bracelet?"

Irina said, "I bought this when I went out during the Easter holidays. I saw it yesterday while I was cleaning the robbed dormitory, and I thought it would be perfect for you."

Hearing the words "robbed dormitory," Ginny shrank her neck in guilt. She took the bracelet, put it on her wrist, and whispered, "Thank you, Sister Irina..."

After Irina left, Ginny felt very guilty.

Irina had been so kind to her, but she had made a mess in Irina's bed. Ginny felt deeply sorry for Irina.

After breakfast, Harry heard the voice of the basilisk again and told the three of them.

Upon hearing this, Hermione seemed to have thought of something. She patted her head and said, "Harry, I suddenly understood something! I need to go to the library first!"

With that, Hermione tried to run off.

Irina quickly stopped her and said, "Hermione, did you forget what I said?"

Hermione explained, "I remember! Don't worry, I'll at least ask two people to come with me, and everything will be fine!"

After hearing Hermione's words, Irina thought for a moment and then felt relieved.

The three young wizards would be traveling together. Tom Riddle probably wouldn't be bold enough to attack Hermione in front of the three of them, right?
