Chapter 128: Let me see if you are growing normally
"We agreed to raise it together, but did you let it go to school alone?!"
Lynn knew he was wrong, but didn't argue.
After returning to Hogwarts Castle, Lynn began his own alchemy experiment in the dormitory, while Irina found Harry and Ron to learn more about Hogwarts Castle during the three or four days she had been away.
From Harry, Irina learned that on Christmas day, they used the Polyjuice Potion made by Hermione to sneak into the Slytherin common room and trick Malfoy.
Hermione, however, accidentally drank the Polyjuice Potion with cat hair and turned into a girl with cat ears. She was then admitted to the school hospital.
Upon hearing this, Irina immediately rushed to the hospital to visit her best friend. However, the corners of her mouth were raised in a grin, making Harry and Ron feel slightly uncomfortable.
When they arrived at the hospital wing, Irina took advantage of Madam Pomfrey's absence, opened the curtain beside Hermione's bed, and sneaked inside.
"Ah... Irina, why are you back?"
Upon realizing the curtain had been lifted, Hermione screamed and hid under the blanket. Only after seeing that it was Irina did she poke her head out, asking in confusion.
Irina chuckled and said, "I came back early to keep you company. Aren't you happy? It's so cute, let me touch it!"
As Irina spoke, she climbed onto Hermione's bed, grabbed the cat ears growing on Hermione's head with both hands, and rubbed her cheek against Hermione's furry face.
After Irina's actions, Hermione's face turned bright red. She struggled to push Irina off her.
"Ow, what are you doing, Irina?!"
Hermione, unable to escape, could only look at Irina with annoyance.
Irina smiled and said, "Don't worry, Hermione, come on, tell me, your development isn't normal..."
Just as Irina was about to take the next step, the curtain next to the bed opened again. Standing beside it was Madam Pomfrey with a serious face.
"Out, Miss Lovell, the patient needs rest!" Madam Pomfrey roared and quickly dragged Irina out of the hospital wing.
Irina, who had been hoping to spend a good time with Hermione, who had cat ears, had to leave the hospital reluctantly. Although she wasn't entirely convinced, she understood that Madam Pomfrey was right and that Hermione needed her rest to recover.
It had been over a week, and the Christmas holidays had come to an end.
The little wizards who had gone home for Christmas were now returning to school one by one.
One day after classes resumed, Irina, Harry, and Ron went to the school hospital to visit Hermione again.
After leaving the hospital, Irina and the others heard Filch's roar coming from upstairs.
"That's Filch!" whispered Harry. He quickly ran up the stairs, hiding behind the corner to listen.
Ron nervously asked, "Do you think someone will be attacked by the basilisk again?"
Irina shook her head and said, "Impossible. If another attack happens, Filch wouldn't sound angry like that; he would sound scared."
Soon, the voice came again.
"Damn ghosts, they're causing problems for me again! I've been mopping the floor all night, like I haven't worked enough! No, this is really unbearable, I'm going to find Dumbledore..."
The sound of Filch's footsteps faded, and the three of them heard a violent door slam in the distance.
Irina and the others peeked around the corner where Mrs. Norris had been attacked earlier.
They saw a large puddle of water covering half of the hallway. It seemed that water was still seeping from under the door of the bathroom where Moaning Myrtle was.
Now that Filch had stopped shouting, Irina could hear Myrtle's cries echoing from the bathroom.
"What's going on?" Ron asked uncertainly.
Harry thought for a moment and said, "Let's go take a look."
So the three of them lifted their robes up to their ankles, walked through the flooded corridor, and entered the bathroom where Moaning Myrtle was.
Myrtle was crying louder and more stridently than before, and she seemed to be hiding in the toilet where she usually hid.
Seeing Myrtle, Harry asked, "What's wrong, Myrtle?"
"Who are you?" Myrtle asked in a gurgling, sad voice, "Are you going to throw something at me again?"
Harry asked confused, "Why would I throw something at you?"
"Don't ask me," Myrtle screamed, emerging and splashing another stream of water, soaking the already flooded floor, "I'm just sitting here, thinking about my death, and someone thought it would be funny to throw a book at me..."
Upon hearing Myrtle's words, Irina, who had been silent, seemed to think of something. Her heart stirred, and she looked at Myrtle.
"Even if someone throws something at you, it won't hurt," Harry analyzed, "I mean, that thing can go right through you, right?"
At Harry's words, Myrtle puffed up in anger and shouted, "Everyone hits Myrtle with books because she can't feel anything! If you hit her in the stomach with a book, you get ten points! Fifty points if you hit her head! Haha! What a fun game, but I don't believe it!"
Irina pulled Harry behind her, looked at the crying Myrtle, and asked seriously, "Myrtle, did you see the name of the little wizard who threw the book at you? Maybe I can help you punish them!"
Irina remembered that in the original plot, Harry seemed to have picked up Voldemort's Horcrux diary here. Could it be that the book thrown at Myrtle was that diary?!
More than ten years had passed, and even Irina could only vaguely recall the general plot, but she wasn't particularly clear on the specific timeline.
"I don't know... I was sitting on the toilet, thinking about death, and the book fell from my head."
After hearing Myrtle's words, Irina finally calmed her down and said with a sad voice.
Irina continued asking, "Then where is that book now?"
Myrtle pointed to the bottom of the pool and said, "It's there, soaked in water."
Irina quickly looked beneath the pool and saw a small, thin book lying on the floor.
The tattered black cover of the book, like everything else in the bathroom, was completely soaked.
Seeing Harry trying to pick up the book, Irina stopped him and took the book herself.
Irina carefully flattened the book and opened the first page.
Indeed, on the first page of the book, Irina saw a name written in blurry ink: Riddle... ah, it's T.M. Riddle.
