Chapter 85: Practicing Swordsmanship Techniques With Mentor Axel
Axel's PoV:
I had teleported and arrived in front of the Holy Church.
I went towards the Holy Church's training grounds and found most of the recently summoned heroes had been training.
I saw Distere in the training grounds while Alex was not around.
I guessed that Alex was inside the Holy Church but what was his purpose of going there?
I observed the condition of the training ground and found moderate size craters on it.
I also saw a deep crater that had formed in the shape of an arm.
It was as if there had been someone doing a plank in here and had his body being applied by a lot of pressure or weight.
It seemed that it was the result of Alex's training since Distere had never trained this kind of intense training method before.
Distere only trained his knife techniques or his carving techniques while often learning about cooking using the cookbook that I had gave him after I made him my mentee.
It was troublesome to be a mentor at first but I got used to it for some time.
I should meet up with Alex so that I can warn both Alex and Distere about the impending danger.
After I had finished observing Distere's training, I went to the Holy Church and ascended to the second floor.
I went towards Mathew's room and found out that the door and been replaced by normal wood material instead of high-quality wood.
That means someone must have broken the door and replaced it with normal wood using wood magic.
I had figured that Alex would be here due to him having something that could apply weight or pressure which resulted in leaving an imprint on the training ground.
What was Alex's purpose in going back to Mathew's room?
Was it to find another compatible relic or artifact so that he can use it for himself?
It would be highly possible since he had already stolen Mathew's stolen items.
I opened a hole in Mathew's door using wood magic and found out that Mathew was sound asleep on his bed.
I noticed another being in here due to the unusual airflow which I presumed to be a person who was breathing.
The unusual airflow disturbance was located at the ceiling of Mathew's Room.
It seemed that Alex was smart and talented enough that he had even detected me from outside and had already tried to hide from me which was just a futile effort.
"Alex Eternalsoul! I know you are inside this room and is currently at the ceiling! If you don't want your mentor to be angry then be a good boy and come down here!"
I yelled but controlled my voice so that I wouldn't wake up Mathew.
The ceiling had disfigured and a hole suddenly formed.
There was someone who was inside that hole and he went out of it in just a split second and appeared in front of me.
Alex had used a tremendous amount of speed to get out of the ceiling and used his wood magic to repair Mathew's ceiling.
It was a good thing that he had good manners to not leave a thing that was broken unfixed especially if the broken thing was caused by the person who had discovered it.
"State your purpose for intruding inside Mathew's room and if I remembered correctly what Mathew's habit was, then why there wasn't any relics or artifacts that were lying on the floor in his room?"
"Judging by Mathew's personality, he wouldn't clean his room and store his artifact due to him not having any storage ring of some sort."
After I had said that, I stared at Alex with seriousness and tried my best to interrogate him.
Alex had given up in just several seconds and told me the reason why he entered Mathew's room.
The purpose was that he needed to request Mathew's help in stealing a magic handcuff that could adjust weight and it must be a better version than the magic handcuff that Alex had stolen from Mathew.
Well, I had listened and had deemed that Alex was telling the truth so I furthered listened to his reasoning without interrupting him.
"If that is what you want, then you can just wait for Mathew to be awake and ask him to steal a weight adjusting magic handcuffs. I did not teach my disciple to steal so you're going to receive punishment after this."
"Sorry, master."
Alex bowed in front of me and I waved my hand telling him that it was enough.
I went out of Mathew's room with Alex and headed towards the outside of the Holy Church.
I went to the training ground with Alex and taught him some swordsmanship that I had copied from novels and mangas.
I didn't have any masters in this world or even on Earth so I didn't know anything about swordsmanship techniques except for the ones that I had read from novels and mangas and watched from animes.
"Alex, since you have reached a breakthrough in your speed stat then it seems that you are ready to learn this swordsmanship technique. This swordsmanship is called 'Sonic Light Swordsmanship'."
I performed a series of cuts, slashes, and thrusts and stepped my foot to gain momentum, and pierced a nearby tree despite being 10 meters away from it.
I used the gained momentum from my swordsmanship technique to launch it towards the tree which resulted in it breaking into chunks of wood.
"The swordsmanship technique that I had performed was known as 'Sonic Boom'. It used the gain momentum to launch it towards the target in a split second. Control and speed are the two main keys that played a role in this swordsmanship technique."
I performed another swordsmanship technique by thrusting my sword into the air in just a split second while using all of my speed stats.
It created a tremendous impact which resulted in the nearby trees being pierced.
"That swordsmanship technique is called 'Sound Break'. It is capable of breaking the sound barrier by performing a thrust that was capable of having a much faster speed than the speed of sound."
"What I want you to do is to perform all of this swordsmanship technique in just one day."
Alex nodded and imitated all of my moves. In conclusion, he was a genius that could understand and comprehend my swordsmanship techniques by just watching my live demonstration.
I looked up at the sky and noticed that the sky began to turn dark.
Cumulonimbus clouds were up in the sky which meant that a storm was going to happen.
"I have a bad feeling about this."
