The Genius Tamer of the Academy

Chapter 99

Chapter 99

“What on earth did you do to hit the mark on the first try? Hey, you knew, didn’t you?”

Kassan gritted his teeth, glaring at Han Siha. He was suspicious, wondering if he had been played.

Han Siha responded with a relaxed expression.

“Well, wouldn’t you agree that no one else knowing about your abilities is something you’d be most aware of yourself?”

“….”

“You haven’t told anyone, have you?”

Han Siha was right. Kassan hadn’t told anyone about his newly awakened ability. It had a different attribute and impact compared to his previous powers.

Meteor Blast was a fairly advanced magic for a third-year student to develop. He didn’t want the noise that would come with it becoming public knowledge.

Even now, there was a buzz in the background with people wondering if it was real.

“I haven’t told anyone, but…”

Kassan barely managed to calm himself down. Arguing here would only make him look bad.

“Fine, it’s your turn. I’ll give you one chance, so go ahead.”

He still couldn’t figure out how Han Siha knew about his ability, but in this field, Kassan was supposed to be the expert.

If the question was about characteristics or abilities, he was confident he could analyze everything in just one minute.

“Don’t think that I won’t be able to guess what you’re doing. What are you waiting for? Hurry up and do it.”

“You said even personal matters didn’t matter.”

“I’ll guess all your characteristics or whatever it is, so bring it on.”

Instead of answering, Han Siha carefully took out Ptera and Kloshti. Kloshti, who was only two months old, chirped and fluttered its wings in Kassan’s face.

“What is this lizard?”

“Kuoo!”

Basilus, thinking he was being insulted, suddenly flared up.

Kassan glared at Basilus, who had scorched his clothes, and then refocused on scanning the characteristics.

“Is this weak challenge all you’ve got?”

‘Is he expecting me to guess the creature’s attribute?’

Ah, too easy. Just a rough scan, and he could feel the strong energy of water.

So, he’s trying to challenge me. I’ll show him…

“This guy’s…”

“Attribute?”

Wait, Han Siha didn’t say it was about attributes.

Han Siha lifted Kloshti with a smile, asking innocently.

“What is this friend’s name?”

“What the—!?”

“Damn it.”

Kassan clutched his throbbing head, cursing under his breath.

How many times did he get it wrong yesterday? He must have messed up dozens of times and ended up drinking that whole bowl by himself.

‘How was I supposed to know this brat’s name, argh!’

‘Chirp, chirp!’

‘You can do it, Senior. You were close just a moment ago.’

‘Hey!!’

He vaguely remembered grabbing the brat by the collar several times during his drunken stupor.

Oh, no, he wasn’t imagining it. He definitely grabbed him.

Kassan gritted his teeth, looking at the scorched sleeve of his expensive clothes, now half burned away. Was this supposed to be a short-sleeved outfit? He should be grateful his arm wasn’t burned.

“Hey, where’s that reptile?”

“He’s probably packing with Han Siha.”

“What?”

Never mind that. Kassan was still wobbling, unable to steady himself. He’d been hoisted by his own petard.

His teeth ground together automatically.

There were countless stories of seniors making bets with their juniors, but he’d never heard of someone losing and downing an entire bowl of champagne by themselves.

Wasn’t this something that would go down as a legendary moment in Ardel’s history?

The fact that he was the star of that story made Kassan’s face flush with embarrassment.

“Damn it, those bastards.”

First things first, he needed to cool his head. Kassan gulped down a sip of water and staggered towards Rbeni, who was preparing the second-year students’ gear.

As soon as Rbeni saw Kassan, he averted his gaze with a startled expression.

“…!”

“Why are you acting so weird?”

He was blatantly avoiding eye contact. Kassan frowned and scratched his head. At that moment,

“Don’t you remember what happened yesterday?”

The scariest question in the world.

Kassan felt a chill run down his spine as he looked back at Rbeni.

Except for grabbing Han Siha by the collar and Basilus burning his clothes, nothing else came to mind…

As Kassan muttered to himself, a sudden, horrifying realization struck him.

‘Hey! Do you not understand what I’m saying!?’

‘I said I like yooouuu!’

“Yesterday… you confessed your feelings in front of everyone. To the second-year, Solia.”

“S-Solia…?”

Kassan choked, spewing the water from his mouth.

“I didn’t know you had such a refined taste for noble ladies.”

“I… I… did something that crazy?”

Had he truly lost his mind?

Kassan stammered, unable to believe it.

“Yeah, you were holding onto her tightly.”

“No way!”

Kassan grabbed Rbeni by the arm. His lips were already turning pale. The fragments of memory that remained were blurry at best.

Kassan knew he had to figure out what had happened.

It was a voice filled with desperation.

“So what happened next?”

“See for yourself.”

Rbeni’s ability was related to illusion magic. He was offering to show Kassan the scene from yesterday, replaying it vividly in his mind. Though it meant reliving the humiliation, Kassan nodded vigorously.

“Alright.”

And just like that, Kassan’s vision darkened.

“Haaagh.”

Kassan was already lying on the ground. From the moment he witnessed the scene with his own eyes, his mental state had completely crumbled.

‘Damn it.’

Kassan had always liked Solia, a second-year student. While other second-year students might have felt annoyed by her nobility, Solia was different.

Her serene and mysterious gaze, along with the gentle smile that always played on her lips, had captivated Kassan.

“Solia….”

“Yes, Senior?”

“I like you….”

He could hardly speak properly, yet he was trying to flirt? Kassan clutched his head in despair.

Solia’s response came within a second. With an awkward smile, she rejected him immediately.

“No, I’m fine.”

“Fine? Ah, you think I’m fine? I’m kind of… good-looking, right?”

‘You idiot!’

Kassan was already drunk out of his mind, completely absorbed in his delusion.

Even just confessing was embarrassing enough, but he had made a spectacle of himself.

“I liiike youuu!”

In front of all the second-year students.

No, Kassan, get up. Don’t do this.

Kassan inwardly screamed in desperation, but the memories of the previous night brutally betrayed him.

“No, Soliaaa!”

Kassan started clinging to Solia’s legs. The disdainful look Rbeni had given him earlier—that must have been because of this.

A look of utter contempt, as if it was embarrassing to even consider him a classmate.

Kassan slumped to the ground, covering his face with his hands. If he were in Rbeni’s shoes, he would also be deeply disappointed to have someone like him as a class representative.

Publicly confessing while drunk and then clinging to her.

Kassan’s face turned crimson, even in broad daylight.

But that wasn’t the end of it.

“Sob… I got rejected.”

“I think I would have rejected you too, Senior.”

“Huh? You too… How could you betray me? You bastard!”

He even grabbed Han Siha, crying and begging him to comfort him over the heartbreak.

“Ugh!”

Bang.

Kassan, confronted with his other self, banged his head against a tree.

Kassan was already brimming with malice. Rbeni regretted using his illusion magic to show him the events of yesterday.

“I’ll kill him if I catch him….”

Kassan looked around wildly, like a madman. His eyes landed on a bag that Rbeni was organizing.

The second-year students were provided with just enough supplies to survive, while the third-year students remained relatively safe in this location.

According to the notice, the third-years were to take the supplies from the second-years who would return here every three days without touching their own resources.

Inside the bag were the basic necessities for survival.

Kassan, losing his rationality, snatched one of the bags. The only reason was that it had Han Siha’s name on it, and that momentarily drove him over the edge.

“Is this Han Siha’s group?”

“Y-Yeah, but… What are you doing?”

“Those arrogant brats. They need to learn their place.”

Rbeni watched in shock as Kassan rummaged through the bag.

He didn’t expect Kassan to stay calm, but he hadn’t anticipated he would resort to such a petty move either.

“Why bother taking so much unnecessary stuff!”

Had the heartbreak driven him mad?

Well, even if it wasn’t just the heartbreak, the events of yesterday would be enough to make anyone lose their mind.

“They can survive without some food and water, right?”

Kassan removed the basic food and water supplies from the bag. The only thing left was a single bottle of water. It was enough to keep them from dying, at least.

Kassan shook the bag out.

Rbeni, who had been watching silently, quickly grabbed Kassan’s arm.

“How are five people supposed to survive on one bottle? Are you crazy?”

“Those leeches. They’ll find a way to survive, so don’t worry about it. You’re not siding with those arrogant second-years, are you?”

“Whatever, but don’t you think we should at least leave them some water?”

“That’s just your opinion. These guys need to learn the hard way.”

With that, Kassan handed the bag to Rbeni.

Anyway, those second-year elites wouldn’t die just because they were short on food for a week.

Rbeni had no choice but to go along with Kassan.

“…Alright.”

Kassan clearly needed something to restore his pride. His expression alone made it obvious how hurt he was.

Kassan took a deep breath and muttered to himself.

There’s no way anyone who made it to Ardel Academy would die just because they were short on food and water.

This is just to teach them a lesson.

“Nothing serious will happen.”

But then again,

“Let’s see how you handle this, you bastards.”

Kassan ground his teeth and left.
